Chapter 45:

Chapter 45: The Strongest vs the Strongest

Howl

As the two zoomed across the culdesac neighborhood, exchanging blows, each with more force than the last. Leonidas elbowed Ferral in the face, and he retaliated with an uppercut to the stomach. Then socked Leonidas across the face, sending him flying until he rammed into a lamp post. As Ferral charged at him, Leonidas regained his ground and planted his left foot into Ferral’s stomach followed by a spin kick across the jaw that launched Ferral into the front of a truck. He got up off the ground and the two clashed arms, going back and forth between attacks and dodges. Ferral punched Leonidas with all his strength across the face and Leonidas cocked back his right fist to strike back. Ferral ducked the attack and sweeped Leonidas’s feet from under him, but he caught himself and sprung head first at Ferral, smashing it against his face. Then deliver a flurry of punches and kicks, having his assault end with Ferral grabbing both his fists and head butting Leonidas. Ferral pulled him forward and did it again, and again, and again until he let go to sock Leonidas once again in the gut then grab his left arm, throwing him over his shoulder and into the window of one of the homes.
Following him inside, Ferral hopped in and was met with getting hit by a wooden chair; the impact shattering the chair and knocking him into a wall. Leonidas got up, throwing away the two legs of the chair he held. Ferral got up from the floor, putting himself in front of Leonidas as the two started each other down. Neither were yet out of breath, but both had bruises and blood dripping off them.
“To think I'd actually have to try,” Leonidas groaned, “To put real effort in a fight.” He cracked his neck and spit out some blood. “Though I won't deny your strength, Failure. You are more powerful than even I care to admit, and that makes me want to retch. Scum like you being able to exchange blows with ME?” Leonidas scoffed as he wiped the side of mouth. “Whatever,” Was all Ferral could say as he tore off his shirt that was ripped and ragged, “So I guess the real fight starts now, huh?” Leonidas smirked, “Of course, I'll stop fighting with one arm now.” The two rushed at each other again, ramming shoulders continuing their fierce battle.
Ferral threw two punches that Leonidas dodged and backhanded him into a grandfather clock. Ferral then gripped the side of the clock and threw it at Leonidas. He smashed it away, leaving an opening for Ferral to slam his left fist into Leonidas’s ribs, the king groaning in pain. Then Ferral grabbed the back of his head, and threw his face into one of the walls, actually smashing through it. Once he got his head out, Leonidas turned around to catch one of Ferral's fists which he used to pull him forward and give a left hook to Ferral's face then kicked him into the kitchen of the home. Ferral knocked into the side of the kitchen entrance before falling to the ground. Leonidas slid into the kitchen, ready to attack, but Ferral placed his hands on the ground behind his head then launched himself up, using both his feet to kick Leonidas in the chest and into the kitchen cabinets. One Ferral got back to his feet the two continued their back and forth, Leonidas smacking Ferral into the side of the kitchen table. Ferral used the table by elbowing it, making it go up and hitting Leonidas in the head, then Ferral tackled him into the stove and Leonidas started punching Ferral's back. Soon slashing his back with his claws forcing Ferral to let go. Leonidas knee Ferral's stomach and elbowed the back of his head. On the floor, Ferral started to get up, but Leonidas grabbed the handle of the kitchen's oven’s door and threw it down, Ferral's head smashing the glass. Leonidas picked up the oven door again, but Ferral slid under him to avoid being hit. Then he jumped back up and tried to throw a punch but Leonidas dodged it, grabbed his arm, and spun Ferral in the air.
He let go, throwing Ferral into a wall. He burst through the wall and ended up landing in the backyard of the home where they continued their fight. The back and forth continued, both fighters seemed evenly matched, but Ferral started to learn Leonidas’s patterns. Just like he has done against other foes, Ferral began to know how to counter his opponent, but not with his own changing mental thinking, no it was the rest of his body reacting on its own. His eyes scanned Leonidas's movements quickly and his body adapted to those movements. Now Ferral started to block, dodge, and counter each attack thrown at him; their gap widening and in Ferral's favor.
Up in the sky however, one of the drones was watching this fight and broadcasting the footage to the scientists that were in the Facility. Dr. Atlas was smiling with delight. “See this, Dr. Aero?” He asked, leaning to keep the conversation to them. “Indeed, 9320 has started to gain the upper hand,” Aero replied, “But what will this mean for Leonidas?” Dr. Atlas chuckled and went back to watching the fight. “Patience, this fight has only just begun. I suspect we'll see it pick up in just a moment.”
Back to the fight, Ferral landed a number of heavy hits on Leonidas, finishing off by putting his two hands together and smacking Leonidas across the backyard, crashing into whatever was left of the fencing, and back onto the street. He strained to get up, breathing heavily as he looked up at Ferral who was looking down at him. Both fighters were panting, showing their fatigue, but Leonidas was clearly more tapped out.
“This…means…nothing.” He huffed, “I am Leonidas. None surpass me…NO ONE EVEN COMES CLOSE!” Ferral continued to watch Leonidas struggle to stand up, disappointed. “It's sad, you know. If you weren't such a big jerk I'd say we could've been great friends.” Leonidas gritted his teeth, “Why would I ever want to be associated with trash like you? Even the thought makes me SICK.” He snarled. Ferral tsked, “Well this fight is over. You clearly can't continue, and I need to make sure my friends are okay.” He walked past Leonidas, who continued seething. Both looked back at each other, both staring daggers at the other. “Why don't you go crawl off somewhere and hide. You could be easily picked off by someone with full strength.” Those were Ferral's final words before turning his head back around and continuing on. Leonidas turned his full body around to look at Ferral, his face morphed back into the rage fueled smile had before the fight started. He started the laugh, prompting Ferral to stop walking and turn back around.
“And there's the difference between you and I,” Leonidas said, “Like the absolute fool you are, let your opponent go. How naive are you to make such a decision? I, on the other hand, wouldn't even let it even cross my mind. Because such a decision can cost you greatly.” Fully standing straight, Leonidas dusted himself off. “My opponent could beg DESPERATELY for their life and my only answer would be “no.” Because why give them the chance?” “Because I know I can still defeat you.” Ferral remarked. Leonidas chuckled. “Pride cometh before the fall as they say.” He clenched his fists, forming a furious expression. “You should feel honored, to push me so far that I have to truly assert my dominance….and to witness my full power!”
Ferral looked at him in confusion as Leonidas tilted his head to the sky; his body started to pulsate. “KAAAAAHH!!!” He screamed as body continued to pulsate. His legs started to get longer and larger as well as his arm, and the fur and mane on him started to grow more on his body. The canines in his mouth grew longer, while his face transformed into a more feline look. As this horrific transformation continued, all Ferral could do was watch in complete shock, unable to think of something to do. Soon Leonidas’s metamorphosis was complete, turning him into a REAL lion-human hybrid. “HOHOHOHAHAHA!” He laughed, towing over Ferral. “You're finished! This is the end of the line for you!!!” Even his voice was deeper and more menacing. Ferral readied himself to fight, but in the literal blink of an eye, Leonidas was already in back of him.
Ferral didn't even have a single second to react because the side of Leonidas’s hand was already touching his face and he was smacked to the side, crashing into another building. That one hit left Ferral feeling disoriented, he could barely stand back up. Once he looked up Leonidas was already gone and then came crashing through the roof of the house, slamming his right foot onto Ferral's back. He screamed in pain as Leonidas twisted his heel on Ferral's lower spin. Then he picked him up and started punching his face, each punch with the strength of a high speed freight train. “What's wrong? You seemed so confident you could defeat me earlier? HAHAHAHA!!!” Leonidas stopped his attacks, Ferral's face bloodied and bruised, was thrown bup into the air. Leonidas jumped up after Ferral's body until he could grab one of his legs and start to fall back down, slamming Ferral into the ground. Then he picked him up and threw him back out onto the street. Leonidas started to walk toward Ferral's almost lifeless body. He started to get up, knowing full well he had to. “I'm…not…done yet!” Ferral muttered as he charged at Leonidas. He jumped into the, air ready to attack, but Leonidas cocked back his left hand and threw it forward….impaling half of his arm trough Ferral's chest.
