Fragmented Memory (Prologue)

A small ray of light fell upon Jins right eye, revealing pure anger. He was badly wounded, covered from head to toe in stab wounds, and he couldn't even open his left eye which had been dyed red by blood. With his back against the wall the only thing he could do was look down in utter hopelessness.

"Pathetic," he thought to himself. Just as he was cursing his uselessness, he heard footsteps approach.

"one… no two of them,” he thought to himself.

The footsteps stopped in front of him and he could make out the vague outline of two people.

"Want to know something interesting?,” came a voice filled with joy.

Jin could only barely turn his head up, his eyes filled with that same rage. He wanted to move, to speak, to kill the one in front of him, but it was pointless. His wounds were paralyzing him with excruciating pain, and he could only look, his eyes now edged with despair.

"The one who killed him, the one who ruined everything, guess who that was?”

Jin felt anger swelling inside of him, his left hand began to twitch and he stared daggers into the one in front of him.

"ME"

"Never forget, because no matter what you do, you can never get away from the Exceed."

"Till we meet again, Friend."

Jin lay there, hands clenched, as he watched the figures disappear into the darkness.
