The Death Of Me

Finally, the rain stopped. I didn’t think I’d need to bring an umbrella and I always liked the rain anyway.

It’s been almost 7 years since Shinichi took me to this book store and now our life together has had all the ups and downs anyone has together.

But this last week alone has been a whirlwind of happiness!

Shinichi and I are finishing college together and we both have been accepted to our dream jobs.

Then yesterday, he proposed to me!

I can’t believe it! He even asked my dad for permission and of course he said yes.

It’s not like he hasn’t known them for years now.

It was obvious that my dad would be fine with it.

They got along well enough and having a man like Shinichi in the family makes him happy to have a son in the family.

I skip down the walkway, my long green dress flowing in the wind.

All those memories of Shinichi and I together come back.

Ah, I think I’ll skip the café we usually go to and start reading when I get home.

I can’t believe the author said there is only one more book left.

Oh well I’ve been keeping my eye on a few other series that I have been wanting to start.

I come up toward the intersection and the guy in front of me is pretty oblivious studying his flip cards.

I hear a loud “screech” as the truck hits it’s brakes and starts sliding on the wet road.

What?

He still didn’t notice?

As if on pure instinct and adrenaline I rush forward and grab his collar as he is still on one leg and pull him back.

I however am pushed forward and I feel a sharp pain in my head.

What is this?

I was going home and wanted to see Shinichi.

Yes Shinichi.

I love him so much.

What’s going on?

I’m confused.

I just want to be with him.

We were supposed to be married soon.
