Chapter 130:

Chapter 129 - A Call for help

Dungeon Eater

If I use my Rush Skill, I should be able to clear past the monsters in this tunnel before they can recognise me. I’ll blow past them all!

{Rush has been activated}

My body grew lighter and my feet resonated with a powerful white aura that pushed me further. I raced through the tunnel and darted past the group of Lockjaw’s huddled together at the centre of the path.

The closer I came to the massive signature of mana, the more potent it became. I began to feel something else welling up from one of the rooms ahead.

“Bloodlust…?” I pondered.

Mei rushed as fast as she could, darting past the monsters of the Fifth floor when suddenly the ground rumbled with a heavy shake. The short grassy fields of the Fifth floor let out a violent shiver.

Her face turned pale as a small group of figures appeared above the horizon. She rushed for her wand tucked into her robe and aimed it at the horde when suddenly a voice spoke out.

“Hold it! Who do you think you’re aiming that at, huh?!” The voice said arrogantly.

She lowered the tip of her wand, still shaking down to every end of her body. The person who addressed her was an adventurer, one bearing a familiar symbol on his shield.

Mei’s eyes widened as she recognised the same symbol on all the adventurers behind him. It was the emblem of the second-highest-ranked guild in Istoria, Titans Helm.

“T-Titans Helm?!” Mei exclaimed.

“Eh? It’s just a fangirl guys, nothing to worry about everyone!.” The adventurer addressed the group behind him.

“Then get her out of the damn way!”

A menacing tone broke out from within the crowd and walked to the front beside the adventurer. A short individual, dressed in all white. There wasn’t a person who recognised Titans Helm and didn’t know who he was.

The guild master for Titans Helm stood opposite Mei and shot her a cold glare. “We don’t have time to mess around with scrub kids.” Adder berated her.

The adventurer at the front bowed his head to the guild leader and fell back into line. A single look from the Adder was enough to send a silver rank running back into the crowd without another thought.

Mei looked at him with cautious eyes but after remembering why she was there, she summoned the courage to speak.

“Mister Adder, please–there’s a problem on the sixth floor!” She called out.

Adder stood closer to her, his eyes sharp and aimed passed her to the door that led to the Sixth floor.

“Move aside.”

She watched as his face faded out of view and was replaced by the back of his coat. Her face contorted with an intense rage that rose from deep in her stomach until eventually, it burst to the surface.

“Guild Master Adder! I am a representative from ASH and am requesting help from Titans Helm!!”

The group behind her stopped in their tracks, none of them could believe how she yelled at him. Most of them grit their teeth, preparing themselves mentally for what was undoubtedly going to be a messy scene to follow.

Adder snapped around to her and shot the coldest death stare she had ever seen before. “The hell did you just say to me?”

“I…I said that we need your help. No, an adventurer needs your assistance with this matter, please!”

Adder’s expression remained fierce but he chose to enter the conversation. His shoulders swayed as he focused his attention on her and away from the doors.

“So what then, is it some kind of monster pack or something? We were already on our way to sort that out–”

“Master, is everything alright?” A rosy voice spoke out.

Two adventurers left the large group and met up with Adder and Mei. A cheery woman dressed in silky material led the exchange, walking over to the guild leader with a concerned expression. Walking quietly beside her was Olivia, dressed from shoulders to toe in elegant red and silver armour.

“Is there a problem, guild master?” Olivia added.

“It’s nothing. Just some woman spouting nonsense. Everyone move out!” He waved his hand and summoned the feet of everyone behind him into action.

Mei gritted her teeth and stepped in front of him once more.

“No–you have to help him! Please help Mister Alos with the danger inside the Tower!”

Oliva’s eyes shot open as if she had just woken up from a daze. She stepped forward and impatiently turned to the distressed mage.

“You said Alos just now, right? Did you perhaps mean, Rei Alos? Where is he?!”

“He just entered the Sixth Floor. But there was a powerful presence of mana…”

Without waiting for the rest, Olivia shot forward like an arrow released from its wielder's hand. The guild leader, Adder, was the most surprised.

“Where do you think you’re going–I never gave the order!” He shouted.

He turned to Mei with a fierce expression and it was then that she realised who stood in front of her. He wasn’t just any ordinary adventurer she could talk to casually, he was the leader of Titans Helm, one of the pillars of Istoria.

Her face lowered and her eyes couldn’t meet with him. A powerful presence surrounded him as the devilish scowl on his face grew worse.

“So what kind of threat did you find that could make my members disobey me?”
