Chapter 6:

Makiyu's Sunrise

Syanic Earth 7: Dimensional War Arc

The Vulpi and their creatures battled against the dwindling Omaunukai forces as Emphynixyion and Eszkeios brawled through the cosmic air above. While Oreic, Enshiron, and Elysia settled the score with Iagen, Indeavorga's quartet ganged up on Seniel and Inveticus.

"I'll devour your limbs, and they'll be part of mine!" The Ice Sister bashed her head on the floor, slicing her spinal sacrum at Seniel. "Curse Makiyu for making me defected!"

"Don't ever curse Makiyu for giving you breath to live!" Inveticus deflected the attack to protect Seniel. "Why couldn't you be happy for who he made you to be? He made you the way you were for his reasons!"

The two flying harp claws aimed for Inveticus, but Seniel summoned a whirlpool to block them. Inveticus bonked Indeavorga's head with his hulusi gourd, freezing her in place. Seniel aimed her water spear at the Ice Sister's neck, but the lower body flipped in the air and kicked her away.

Seniel and Inveticus can't behead Indeavorga if she's four in one! Psyinen sliced her oboe staff through an Omaunukai wizard's neck. I need to help!

The cone-hatted wizards fired shadow bolts from their crocodile maxilla wands. Psyinen battled her way as she circled the Ice Sister. As she dodged with her agility, she snuck underneath Nekhamon as the fiend raised its staff to command veined and eyed pillars to fire at Macadion Firma's rock shield.

I can sneak behind Indeavorga! Psyinen thought until Shaphkiew stomped in front of her.

The peacock's tentacles morphed into bear and snake heads that aimed jaws at her. Psyinen parried the heads with her oboe staff, but the eyeball patterns on Shaphiew's fleshy tail looked into her eyes, making her head dizzy when she hallucinated the eyes moving in a spiral. With Psyinen stunned, the tentacles changed into tiger heads that lunged for her. The twin-headed Levian Exedra coiled around the tentacle heads and breathed waterspouts into the peacock. Des Manthesia pounced on the fleshy tail, slashing the hypnotizing eyes with its freezing scythes arms.

"Thank you both!" Psyinen told the summons as she ran to Inveticus and Seniel's aid.

Omaunukai wizards played their bat-winged appendage instruments to summon long-haired harpies with rolled eyes and wide anglerfish fangs that bit the Vulpi to death. The harpies scrambled for Psyinen.

"Psyinen! You don't have to take on Indeavorga alone!" Yanshi slashed his erhu to behead the savage creatures.

Both masters nodded as they snuck behind Indeavorga, who slithered her spinal cord to push Seniel and Inveticus back with a crater of red jagged ice. The Ice Sister's lower body and two flying harp claws noticed and blocked their path. Yanshi smashed his erhu into the floor to knock the three beings back with a rocky crater while Psyinen jumped over his shoulder for Indeavorga's neck.

The Ice Sister coiled its bloody spinal cord around Seniel and Inveticus, trying to squeeze them to death. Psyinen slammed her oboe staff against the cervical spine, letting Indeavorga squeal and release the masters. The Ice Sister thrashed while Psyinen struggled to break the spinal cord off.

"I can't do this alone!" Psyinen held on as the Ice Sister wildly slithered across the battlefield.

The Ice Sister's harp claws soared high and lunged for Psyinen's neck, but Seniel threw her spear at them. Seniel's weapon morphed into an aqua serpent that coiled the claws in a tight inescapable bind. Inveticus tripped the lower body and bonked his hulusi gourd at its feet to freeze it.

"Thank you, fellow masters!" Yanshi slammed his erhu onto Indeavorga's neck. "Psyinen! You're not alone!"

"All I want is an able body, and you all reject my desire!" Indeavorga howled as her serpentine spine thrashed into the Vulpi's war elephants.

Yanshi and Psyinen struggled to hang on as the Ice Sister rammed into centaurs and griffins.

"She's trying to knock us off! Don't let go, Psyinen!" Yanshi pierced his erhu further into the Ice Sister's neck. "Inveticus? Seniel? A little help? Indeavorga's going to wreck the entire battlefield!"

"Curse all you lucky people who can touch with fingers and walk with toes!" Indeavorga screeched as her spinal cord erupted with giant red spikes that pierced everyone nearby. "I'll kill everyone with such privilege Makiyu denied me!"

"How dare you rob others just because you don't have what they have!" Inveticus yelled as he slashed his hulusi broadsword into the Ice Sister's neck.

"Don't you know that your body is a sea of Makiyu's covenant? If you choose to reject your body that Makiyu gave you..." Seniel pierced her spear into Indeavorga's cervical spine. "Makiyu can take it away!"

Slice!

Finally, the four masters severed the Ice Sister's head, leaving all her body parts to burn in ash. Shaphkiew thrashed on the floor with whining sheep and piglet heads before being charred into nothingness. Psyinen, Seniel, Inveticus, and Yanshi lay tired. Iagen and Delmisa gasped at the loss of their second Prognosticus.

Indeavorga was useless! I need more of Shien's blood if I want to win! Eszkeios breathed its shadow breath against Emphynixyion's air raid siren. I empowered my minions with the meager portion Iagen and the Prognosticus offered me, so I'll absorb them all!

The devilish centipede grew fleshy tentacles, capturing the Omaunukai demons and their creatures. The servants screamed as Eszkeios absorbed them into its body.

"The beast is eating its followers!" Psyinen shuddered.

"Wait! I beg of you!" Iagen begged as the tendrils wrapped around his neck and Delmisa's. "You promised to make me Grandmaster after we help you enter Earth!"

Eszkeios ignored his pleas as the tentacles dragged Iagen inside. The terrified Vulpi watched the beast's segmented body bubble with multiplying corpses.

"Yes! That's better! There was no point in sharing Shien's blood with my servants!" Eszkeios shouted. "Now, I have the power to demolish all musical life!"

Enormous spider legs erupted from the centipede's body, crawling on the prismatic floor stained with blood. Loud thumping sounded as Eszkeios' legs scampered across the battlefield, slashing its spider legs to kill everything in its way. Emphynixyion and the Vulpi's creatures fired all they had at the beast, but Eszkeios regenerated from every attack. The centipede flailed its enormous spiraling body to send everyone flying. Its countries-long antennae caught the Vulpi and their creatures, wrapping them all in choking knots.

"You all thought you could beat me?" Eszkeios' antennae zapped everyone with high voltage. "Once I win, I'll enter Earth and kill everything Makiyu made!"

"Dear Makiyu, please help us!" All the Vulpi cried as Eszkeios opened its giant pincered mouth.

Suddenly, the Archkaos rumbled with a bright flash of light. Eszkeios blinked to see a dragon as large as itself made of shiny flute barrels and angel wings. A white dragon with four arms flew with the Vultau symbol engraved on its head, a fermata symbol with two eighth notes on each side like wings. The holy dragon roared its double-layered fangs and radiated its shining body at Sol Eszkeios Epsilon. The beast released the Vulpi and creatures, coiling itself in fear.

"Rhu Makiyu Eta!" The Vulpi gasped and bowed before the holy dragon.

As the light scalded the centipede's body, Eszkeios' skin bubbled with bleeding tumors. The centipede's coiled body morphed into a giant infant with enormous fangs and the Omaunukai scorpion symbol branded on its veined forehead. The Vulpi huddled, watching Makiyu's sunlight burn the screaming wicked infant that tossed and bawled, desperately covering its face in vain. Charred pieces of skin flew off like paper as the giant infant burned in everlasting fire.

Iagen, Delmisa, and the other wizards tumbled from the burnt remains. They looked around the diminishing sunlight to see that Makiyu conquered their master. The battle was over, and the Vultau won the Dimensional War.

"It is finished," Rhu Makiyu Eta echoed to the Vulpi, summoning a white portal before them. "Now return to Earth, for your human friends need help."

"Makiyu, we thank you for delivering us from evil," The Vulpi bowed to the dragon before walking into the portal.

"N-no, we lost? That can't be!" Iagen hissed at Makiyu. "Why did you choose Aian over me to be the Grandmaster? I know the scriptures far better than her! I studied and served longer than she had! Tell me why you chose some nobody who couldn't speak to be the Grandmaster!"

Everyone gasped to see someone appear before Iagen in a bright light. Grandmaster Aian's spirit grabbed him by the throat and glared into his pentagram pupils. She wore a necklace that contained a skull-headed key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in her hand.

Don't you see, Iagen? Makiyu sees your heart. You just wanted the title for yourself, not for Makiyu! Aian made Iagen squirm. If you know the scriptures, Makiyu chooses people the world considers foolish. He uses them to shame the people who are wise and great.

Aian dropped him to the ground as shiny figures of angel-winged knights in golden armor surrounded the Omaunukai demons.

"Go!" Aian told the Vulpi.

As the Vulpi left for earth, the angels drew flaming swords and pierced them into the floor summoning a pool of lava that burned with sulfur. The Omaunukai demons were thrown into the Lake of Fire, for this is their Second Death. Their burning corpses sunk into the Dhukaos, the Darkness Beyond Music, for their names weren't in the Book of Life.

"Master Fermato! My teacher! Please forgive me!" Delmisa screamed, reaching for him as her skin boiled in fire. "Don't let them take me!"

Fermato walked away into the portal without looking back at his former apprentice. "You have never been mine. Depart from me, for your deeds are evil."

"No!" The Death Sister crumbled into ash.

"Grandmaster Aian! Have some pity on me!" Iagen's burning body crawled to the Grandmaster across the lava. "Please dip your finger in water to cool my tongue. For I'm in great pain here in these flames!"

The Grandmaster wrapped her chain around Iagen's body as her necklace with a skull-headed key teleported from her neck onto Iagen's. The key of death and shackles weighed Iagen down, sinking his corpse into the bottomless pit. Then, Aian shut and locked it. Iagen, the demon who toyed with Shien and Isrina's souls, was finally gone.
