One Night at Her House

“You look so handsome today! Why?”

I don’t know how to answer her.

“Answer me, please!”

I try to ignore her question as much as possible.

“I hate you, Kouta!”

Ah!! I can’t focus on my driving if this continues!

“Y-yamauchi-san, if you continue t-to act l-like this, I afraid t-that we will not arrive at y-your home.”

Right. Next to me, on passenger seat is Yamauchi-san. I don’t know how much she drank earlier because she was so drunk. After I ate with Ishida-san earlier, Nami suddenly call me ask me to send Yamauchi-san to her home.

“Homura-san, can I ask your help? Are you busy right now by the way?”

“What is it that I can help you? And how do you get my number?”

“I got your number from Kenji earlier. Can I ask you to pick up Marina?”

“She drank too much and now she can’t even talk properly. I want to take her home by myself, but I need to send my brother to the airport right now. Meanwhile, Kenji still playing bowling with his friends.”

“But why me?”

“You are close with Marina, right? You even know her home. That’s why I’m asking you.”

“Okay. Can you tell me where she is?”

“I will message the location of the bar to you later. I will drive her car later as I come here with her car earlier.”

That’s how this unbelievable situation began. I still can’t believe the person next to me is Yamauchi-san. Her behavior reminds me of how kindergarten’s will act now.

“Kouta! Can you play ‘Dry Flower’ by Yuuri?”

“Just play it!”

I play the song and Yamauchi-san suddenly become quiet. But not when the song finally reaches its climax…

“Zutto, zutto, zutto, zutto! Kakaete yo!”

It’s not end there. After arriving at Yamauchi-san’s house, I asked her where she put her house key.

“Yamauchi-san, where did you put your house key?”

“In your heart.”

I swear I will left her outside her house if she continues acting like this. Then, I tried to search in her handbag and found the key. I gave her a piggyback ride and we went to her house which is on seventh floor. Yamauchi-san is quite light if I want to say. When we arrive at her house, I put Yamauchi-san on her bed in her room. As I wanted to leave her room, she called my name but not like how she calls me in the car earlier.

“Homura-kun, thank you.”

“You are welcome.”

I guess she finally got her senses back.

“If everything is fine, I want to excuse myself first.”

“W-wait, Homura-kun!”

“W-what is it, Yamauchi-san?”

“Can you forget what I did earlier? I feel like to kill myself thinking back how I am acting earlier.”

“Okay. Is t-there anything that y-you want me to do?”

“Stay here tonight.”

“Are you still drunk, Yamauchi-san?”

“I’m serious.”

“W-why?”

“If you feel burden, its fine then. I don’t want to force you.”

How am I supposed to answer here when you are being serious suddenly? I feel so tired to thinking about this, that’s why…

“I will stay for a while Yamauchi-san feel like to sleep. Is that fine with you?”

“Okay!”

“Do feeling better right now? Do you want me to bring you a glass of water?”

“I’m fine. Come sit here.”

“On your bed?”

“Yes,” Yamauchi-san replied.

“Excuse me, please.”

This bed is different from my bed at home. Its feel so comfortable! I will ask her where she bought this bed.

“How is your cat, Homura-kun?”

“He is doing fine. Fortunately, I had put its food in its bowl earlier.”

“Really? I want to play with your cat if you have time next time!”

“Okay.”

We became quiet again. I need to find the topic that I can talk with Yamauchi-san. But what is it? Her cat! But she said her brother is the one who is keeping her cat right now. That’s why I didn’t find her cat when first time I came here before.

“Homura-kun, don’t you have anything to talk?”

“I-I don’t know.”

“But you still want to stay here? “

“Y-you said that you are being serious earlier and m-maybe you have something to s-say to me. That’s why I stay here until you sleep.”

“Did you done something weird to me when I was drunk earlier? I think I should do medical checkup later.”

“N-no way I-I did s-something to you!”

“Hahaha! I’m just kidding! I always have fun teasing you! By the way, how old are you?”

“25 years old.”

“Really? You are same age as me then!”

“I d-don’t expect that too.”

“How about both of us calling each other on first name?”

“Eh?! W-why so sudden?”

“Come on! We are friends, right? Like you said before.”

“M-marina.”

“Alright, Kouta! How its feel to call me using first name?”

“I-its feel weird as this is first t-time, I call woman with her first n-name.”

“So, I am your first huh?”

“Hahaha! I feel much better now. Kouta, can you close your eyes for a while.”

“Just for a while, please?”

Suddenly, I can feel a soft sensation touching my left cheek. What is happening to me? And it continues for almost ten seconds. I am afraid mom!

“You can open your eyes now, Kouta!”

“What are you doing to me?”

I feel like my world has turned upside down. I can’t comprehend what even happened to me right now. This woman is not even an angel that I know when first time we met, she is a devil. Devil who steals my heart.
