Chapter 29:

We did it

My Weird Internship

Once again, silence fell over the classroom again, when the moment had come to reveal Zirly and Zane's Scores. All the students' eyes were glued to Mr. Pope, and the entire classroom went silent. The students were waiting anxiously for Mr. Pope to announce the final they had worked so hard for.

"Let's take a look at these double Z scores," which caused a nervous atmosphere. As he started to unlock the hologram that held Zirly's scoress, the audience resounded with relief as the number '78' was revealed. Even if her performance dropped, Zirly was still happy.

But soon enough, the focus shifted to Zane, the last member in the bottom three. Everyone was waiting to see if he could raise their score over the norm, and everyone was holding their breath.

"Okay, Zane, it's time to see your scores, if you made it... you guys made it." With a kind touch, Mr. Pope put his hand on Zane's shoulder and spoke. In an effort to calm the anxious Zane, he cracked a grin.

With bated breath, Zane watched the scores appear on the table. His eyes widened as the number was displayed in front of him. And then, Mr. Pope's voice echoed in his ears, "Hmm... 76. Congratulations, looks like you guys made it".

A wave of relief swept through the class, accompanied by a small cheer. Juan, sitting next to The entire class let out a collective sigh of relief and a little chortle of joy. As a sign of his pride at his friend's successful completion of the test, Juan, who was seated next to Zane, squeezed him for encouragement.

"We did it!" Juan grinned with relief as he exclaimed. Finally, he felt as if a heavy burden had been removed from his shoulders. As a result of his success, Zane felt like a hero of the day.

With a contented grin on his face, Mr. Pope observed the proceedings and declared, "Look, guys, it appears that this program is producing the desired results".

By responding with a sense of pride, "It's all because of our hard work," Zane confirmed that their efforts had not gone unnoticed.

The woodcarving class was brimming with a sense of victory. With an unquenchable well of pride, they sat in the room, relishing in their recent triumph. Following their serious preparation for the test, they achieved results that far above their wildest dreams, granting them entry to an exciting new gaming realm.

"We did well folks!" exclaimed Mike, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "We managed to get more points than we needed. We're moving on to the next stage of this stupid internship!"

There was an overwhelming feeling of contentment on everyone's face. They were all aware that the previous week's combined efforts had paid off in the form of this success.

As Mr. Pope turned their attention to the next thing, their excitement did not fade. "Well, save your energy for saying goodbye to the villa that has been your home for the past week," he said in a calm but sure voice. "And also for the villagers we pissed off." Vivi gazed around her, wondering how he knew about the incident.

A miracle occurred when everyone's attention returned to Mr. Pope. They made their way back to the villa's, where he patted his hand.

The words "please, enjoy the villa" came out of Mr. Pope's mouth with a soft grin. "In two hours, we'll be getting ready to get into the real game."

But right then Erika snatched the discussion away with her perceptive inquiry. She looked sharply at Mr. Pope and inquired in a steady voice, "Are you going to leave us again?" on many occasions.

Mr. Pope only smiled warmly. "Oh, don't worry. I'll be parting with this villa too," he replied warmly.

Once all was done, the students dispersed to spend their final moments at the villa, which had served as both a sanctuary and a test throughout the previous week. Some went for a swim in the pool, while others savored a mug of hot cocoa from the balcony. Seated in their rooms, they conversed about the events leading up to and their experiences with the tests they had recently completed.
