Where did she go? [Arc 3 End]

Heavy sighs was heard, followed by loud footsteps through the almost empty streets. With a backpack on his back, a particular student was found, running down.

"Oh shiiitt I am latee.", said Kanako, as he repeatedly looked at his watch, while trying to sallow the sandwich he gobbled up as he got out of his house.

There was seven minutes left for school. The problem is, he needs at least 10 minutes to reach there.

In the midst of all this hurry, the voice in his mind reached out,

"Will she be there today? I hope she does...", he said, as he remembered the promise he did to himself if she doesn't come in 5 days.

Breathing heavily, with sweat dripping from his face and his shirt wet with it, he finally managed to reach... with 6 minutes past the actual time.

"I am getting a scolding from this one..."

Carefully looking around, he slowly sneaked up to the school building.

"Oh, is that Kanako?"

"...busted."

He got spotted by his friend, who was staring straight at him. To which his friend, Kyo, grinned at him.

"...what is he planning..."

Kyo gave out a clear message. He looked at the teacher, and then looked back at him, again with a grin.

Kanako clasped his hand in desperation, to which Kyo looked away. Kanako overjoyed, as he came sneaking into the building as fast as he could.

A bit in a hurry, Kanako rushed through the classrooms and staircases, when he heard a subtle sound from a particular classroom.

"Ayane Nao... Ayane Nao? Is Ayane absent today too?", the muffled voice of the tracher cracked through the classroom doors.

Kanako stopped his careful footsteps. He is at a loss of what to do.

"Under no normal circumstances would anyone be absent for five days straight.", he thought to himself, as he hurriedly got down to the ground floor again.

"But what if she is just on a vacation?", he stopped again.

"No no, she would at least message me, right?"

"But why would she message me? What am I to her anyway? That she would message me?", his heart clashed with his own thoughts.

"Wait... did I even give her my contact information?", his mind went through the thought, as he was embarrassed...

"How dumb am I... not giving my contacts to her..."

"No no. This isn't the time to think of these things.", he shook his head.

"She could've contacted the teacher if they were going on a vacation though..."

He couldn't decide on an answer. He was at a loss, when a certain thought crossed his mind. It was the thought of that night, when she was on top of the bridge.

"I can't let that happen twice... if I am not there for her... she might die..."

He looked outside at the entrance of the building... as if it was calling him. He rushed out, trying to find answers to his question.

"Where did Ayane go?"
