Nerisu's Naivety

The month was April, and Spring was here, bringing the joyous blossoming of flowers along with hay fever to everyone. As for the group, everyone’s settled into school quite nicely. Their days would be filled with their usual laughs, occasional arguments and most importantly, peacefulness. Yuu was still scared of Aragaki-sensei, who had actually still kept her eye on him as the year went by. Right now, the group was talking amongst themselves as they hung out with each other at Narelia Lake, a common hangout spot in Nairilune. The large lake itself scattered amongst most of the park, while various pine trees surrounded the area. The group sat on a wooden table that housed around six people at once, on the top end, there was Iori, Nerisu and Yukino. Facing opposite them was Takataka, Mizuki and Yuu.
“My birthday is next week.” Said Mizuki, drinking her milk carton with a straw.
“Really!? We need to make it a birthday that is befitting for that of a king!” Takataka triumphantly announced, caring about Mizuki quite a lot.
“There is no need. As long as I am with this group, my birthdays will always be enjoyable.” Mizuki replied, smiling a little at him.
“Huh? But still, Mizuki! You’re turning eighteen this year! Eighteen is a very important year when it comes to aging!” Nerisu joined in, smiling as she ate her melon bread.
“Right? There’s all kinds of things you can do on Caladria when you turn eighteen!” Yuu replied, grinning as he began talking. “You won’t get arrested for sex, you get to drink, buy porn, buy cigarettes and they’ll let you into strip clubs!”
“Naturally, three of those things are sexual~” Yukino giggled, making fun of Yuu. It was common for them, except for Nerisu, to joke about his sex obsessed behaviour.

“Okay, Takataka. You two can talk about it, but I think the rest of us are fine!” Nerisu ended that conversation, sighing as her cheeks were a pale red. Nerisu was reminded of something after they had ended the current conversation. “Are you guys familiar with roleplaying?” She asked, looking intently at all of them.
“Yes, I’ve watched some people play Dungeons and Dragons with each other. That’s what you’re talking about, right?” Iori asked, he was talking about the different kind of roleplaying.
“Oh! No, that’s not what I meant! I meant the type where you write and create stories with others on the Internet! Or, um… wouldn’t people have done that using paper in the past?”
“Oh. Yes, I’m familiar with that too. I see people roleplaying in the comments of videos on BlueTube.”
“So do I! It’s jarring to see Haleister and Freddy Fazbear talking about the video itself!!” Takataka joined in, sharing his view on the whole “multiverse” deal that resulted in letting characters meet one another, despite being from completely different series.
“It’s like… writing, but more relaxed, isn’t it? Just a hobby.” Yuu replied.
“Yes! It’s a lot of fun, I want to show you guys some of my work!!” Nerisu beamed, looking terribly excited as she started jumping in place.
“Go ahead, Ojousama.” Mizuki replied, smiling a little at her.
“Yes, we would love to see what you write~” Yukino added.
The group started getting up and walked back to Nerisu’s place, Narelia Lake wasn’t too far from there, thankfully, so that was a relief.

Eventually, they all arrived at Nerisu’s mansion. They were used to how the place looks by now, since they had been friends for over five years or so. It hadn’t really changed except for upgrading technology every now and then, and moving the outdated technology to a certain room upstairs. With the limited teleporting technology, this was easy to do. But not everyone had it, it was only reserved for royalty if they wished to use it.
Nerisu lead all of the group into a big room (then again, all the rooms were large) with light blue coloured walls and a dark blue carpet. There was a big monitor located just in front of the entrance with some cords lying about. There were also a couple of expensive-looking chairs that were sitting in front of the monitor, too.
“I’ll be right back!” Nerisu called out as she went to get her laptop from her room. It was expensive, just like everything the family had bought, and it ran modern games pretty well. She preferred using her computer, of course, but she had this whenever she went travelling. It came with a mouse. She came back with the laptop and turned it on, waiting for it to load before doing anything else.
Nerisu plugged the cords into the laptop and turned on the monitor, and the screen for the laptop was now displayed on the large monitor itself. It basically worked like a SmartBoard, the interactive technology you would see in some schools during the twenty-first century. It was a more advanced version of that.
She was busy controlling the laptop itself, getting onto the Internet and heading to the website “writer.roleplay" which showed Nerisu’s personal account where she used it like Twitter, except if you scrolled down onto her timeline, you would find a bunch of posts with “read more” added in a colour of the user’s choice. Nerisu’s choice was dark green. It basically looked like Twitter, too. At the top were the home, notifications, search and direct messages icons. On the right side, you would see your account and the settings for it if you clicked on the icon, along with a “switch accounts” button that let you sign into another account without having to put in your password again.
“You see, it’s like Twitter but with a longer character limit! For example, Twitter’s is about one hundred and forty characters, while Writer’s is three thousand!” Nerisu beamed, smiling widely as she opened up some of the read mores. Some were rants, or they were excerpts of novels that her friends were writing. Some of them were writers themselves, and Nerisu read all of their work, providing criticism whenever she could.
“That’s pretty convenient!” Yuu said as he watched Nerisu use her laptop, grinning. “I’m guessing you can also put a not safe for work warning on posts, too?”
“Of course! If the account is one of those pornographic ones that just posts content like that all the time, they’ll have it listed as that. You can also mark posts like that too, most accounts that are too lazy to do so enable it for every single perverted reply they make just do that for all of them.”
As she said that, she noticed that she had received a notification for her direct messages at the top. It seems that she had received a message from someone, and she went over to the notification that popped up on the lower right corner and it went directly to her messages. What she saw, and what everyone else saw, would be remembered for quite some time.

Nerisu went back to the message, and replied to the person with: “I-I don’t roleplay that sort of thing with anyone, I’m sorry! I’m saving that for my future boyfriend, if I ever meet him!”
She quickly received a response that apologised for his behaviour, and that he’ll still be following her but won’t do that again.
“Phew!” Nerisu said as she worked it out, she smiled and didn’t seem as embarrassed by how she nearly got into cyber sex roleplay with a stranger. Something she would never, ever want to do.
“What the hell, I have nothing against people wanting to roleplay that kind of stuff, but doing that out of nowhere is pretty rude.” Iori spoke up, getting rid of the awkward atmosphere caused by the situation.
“It is, isn’t it? I-I do have photos of me posted on that account, so that might be why…” Nerisu had a voluptuous figure, that attracted some men and earned her the envy of some women.
“It’s not like all of them do that anyway, right? You should be fine from now on.” Iori said with a smile, trying to assure her everything will be okay.
“Yes, you’re right… Anyways, why don’t we read some fanfiction instead? I’m sure it will be a lot of fun!” She replied, smiling at everyone.
“Destroyers of Darkness, please!” Takataka and Yuu shouted.
Nerisu went to Writer’s Heaven, and looked up fanfiction for that series. There was a massive amount, it was a popular series even though it only started about five years ago. There was a variety of fanfiction, ranging from alternate versions of the story to alternate universes, they didn’t go into the crossover section but there was also a large amount there. They were looking for one that interested them all, since some appeared to be badly written and Nerisu sure wasn’t going to look for any not safe for work ones. Absolutely not, knowing her. Little do they know, they would come upon one which was practically a rewrite of the entire series, with an exaggerated harem aspect…
“A Destroyer’s Harem?” Nerisu questioned as she looked at the title and the description written for it. It said: “This is Destroyers of Darkness if the harem subtext was more prominent and basically turned into a harem, this is one of my first fanfics for the series so please enjoy.”
“I bet that guy must love harems if he wrote this! Count me in!” Yuu replied, grinning.
“Fufufu, I must admit I am most fascinated by a description like this! Now then, let us partake in the act of reading this fan created work!” Takataka was being chuuni again.
With those two voicing their opinions, the others just shrugged and nodded. Nerisu clicked on the the title and started at the first chapter, reading the author’s note that was on the top before it.
“This only goes up to volume 5 because I feel it was a good stopping point so there’s an original ending made for this fanfic. Please enjoy and rate if you can.”

The story began just like in the novel series itself, there was a fight between demons and elves who had invaded the elves’ world called Bellaris. A young elf boy could be seen using his bow and arrow tooshoot at the young demons with imperfect accuracy before an adult demon attacked with a beam and damaged him. He was bleeding, some cuts on his body before their father came and healed them up, then ran to an area in the forest where they could be protected. Compared to the detailed novel where this fanfiction originated from, the writing came off as amateuristic and it was clear that this writer wasn’t very experienced.

“Haleister.” Said his father as he brought them to a shelter in the woods. “You must now know that since the war will continue, elves will become endangered in a few centuries. We will all die out soon so if you survive you will need to seek out more than one woman to get married to, ok?”
“Marriage? Isn’t that when you make babies with someone else?” Haleister replied, he didn’t know what marriage was exactly.
“That’s a part of it. You will learn as you get older.” Haleister’s dad said as he then spent the rest of the night with him in the shelter.

That was a flashback to when Haleister, the protagonist, was about seven years old. Fast forward to the future, where he’s now eighteen, and is suddenly different from what he used to be as a child. He used to be timid, now he was a skirt chaser who was really trying to get women into his bed. His co-workers would talk about him, and joke about his skirt chasing tendencies while he would get mad… This wasn’t like the original Haleister.
“I don’t understand… he was always timid in the novel and adaptations!” Nerisu said, amazed by how different he grew, also by how he turned into a typical perverted character.
“I wouldn’t know, but the author probably did that to make the harem aspect easier to write. It feels more suited for an adult series, however.” Iori replied. Everyone just read it, they weren’t really making many comments.
Eventually, the other girls were being introduced. Raika, Mariel and Elle. Elle’s appearance hasn’t been described yet, so I’ll just say she’s a short, sky blue haired girl with a petite stature. She was basically the token loli of the group. A stoic, with hair befitting of the archetype. By the second chapter, Haleister had already kissed Raika, the first introduced of the harem. It was an accidental kiss where he tripped and fell onto her, which never happened in the original, and she fell in love with him after that. As for how the others fell in love with him, they all fell in love with his bravery and kindness after he saved them all. They reacted positively to his flirting and perverted actions, which meant that the harem was being brought together.

There were ten chapters overall, and they were up to the ninth. By then, all the girls had fallen in love with Haleister and he kissed and touched them sexually, but never ended up doing anything explicit. That was, until the tenth chapter… Before reading it, there was an adult content warning that surprised Nerisu.
“Um, are you guys sure we should continue reading? Apparently the last chapter has sexual content!” Nerisu said with a frown, not wanting to read anything sexual since she wasn’t too comfortable with that aspect right now.
“Well, you can always turn away when it comes up, okay?” Takataka said, looking forward to the last chapter.
“Okay!” And so, she clicked onto the last chapter, and it immediately began with a group sex scene. Basically, everyone was having fun. Fingering, licking and penetration were all included. Nerisu’s face went red, Mizuki’s eyes widened ever so slightly, Iori and Yukino were shocked and Takataka was rooting for Haleister along with Yuu.
“Great Elven warrior of Bellaris has managed to score his harem!” They chanted as they read the sex scene, Nerisu turned away while Iori got up and quickly scrolled down. The story ended with the war between the elves and demons ending, and they looked at the comments.
“Is this a wish fulfillment fic?” Someone asked the author. “No.” They said.
“Haleister was so different from the novels but it was cool seeing him get the balls to score some pussy!!” Someone said, they clearly rated it five stars.
Eventually, the writer put another comment saying that the reason why Haleister was so different was because they wanted to try writing a different character since he’s so timid in the original. He felt that he should become different if he were to get more women, and to also approach his harem.
“Man, I wish I was living that life…” Yuu murmured to himself, Nerisu heard this.
“Gross!!” She shouted, puffing her cheeks.
“Nerisu! You say that, yet you love some series with harems in them! What’s wrong with wanting to have one in person?” He replied, pointing out something that was rather important.
“Well, because it’s fiction! I don’t like them in real life because I feel so sorry for the women involved, they can’t have the person all to themselves!” She said, frowning.
“Isn’t that because you’re monogamous?” He raised an eyebrow at what she just said.
“W-Well… Y-Yes, but…” She had nothing to say. She felt that harems were so… weird, and expressed it in a negative manner.
“As long as you let others like them, it’s fine.” Yuu said, seeming rather mature compared to how he normally acted.
“I guess you’re right…” Nerisu admitted, not liking whenever she was put on the spot in a situation like that. It embarrassed her, since she wanted to be perfect for the most part. She was a perfectionist, even in regards to herself. Except for the aspects she couldn’t control, which actually do exist.
“Nerisu, aren’t you the type who’s likely to get a harem? Being a princess and all!” Takataka pointed out.
“U-Uh, I guess? Why do you ask, Takataka?” Nerisu replied, wondering why he pointed something like that out.
