Chapter 51:

Mixed blood?

Rebirth of the mighty overlord

"You two, can I assume you are opposing our noble family? Our patriarch has the backing of the esteemed moon clan, our patriarch won't stay silent about this matter!" Jax exclaimed, his face twisted in annoyance at the two newcomers. In order to squash their fervor, he brought up the moon clan to act as a deterrence.

Although he was unaware of which organizations they were affiliated with, it was doubtful to be at the same height as the esteemed moon clan.

Despite his words, his body was extremely tense as he prepared to face them. He was one of the elite warriors from the Oblong family, trained to protect the heir. However, at this moment he truly felt danger as he faced both these girls, which means they were probably no weaker than he was. 'That girl wearing the maid outfit is strong, but she shouldn't be too much trouble, however, that woman, I can't even see through her strength.' He furrowed his brow at the same time, his spiritual energy circulated.

"Jax kill that bastard! Leave the women alive, they must learn what happens to those who provoke the Oblong family." Lennox ordered; his voice was chillingly cold as he stared at Alan with murderous intent flashing in his eye.

His anger was already reaching its peak. Being one of the heirs of the Oblong family, this was the first time someone had dared to oppose his will. Not only did Alan interfered with his goal, but he also inflicted injuries onto his body, an unforgiveable act.

'I will see that you suffer a fate so bad you'll be begging me to kill you!' He thought as he stared at Alan with blood shot eyes. He was already imagining that scene in his mind, his lips curved into a mocking sneer.

"..." Alan could feel his cold gaze on him but decided against saying anything. At this moment he was trying to find out an appropriate excuse once he gets taken back to the dragon clan. However, contrary to Alan's indifference, Trisa glared at Lennox with bone chilling killing intent as she grinds her teeth. Her fury was surging. 'Not only did he hurl insulting words towards our beloved young master once, but twice.' The magical energy in the surrounding began to surge heavily.

Jax's sword condensed from his spiritual energy surged intensely at his lord's command. "This is what happens when you stuck your nose into other's affairs, I won't hurt you ladies too badly, but I can't say the same for that youth over there." Jax warned, as he shifted his gaze towards Alan.
However, towards his blatant threat.

Both Ava and Trisa only gave him a cold stare. Ava shifted her gaze towards Trisa who stood beside her, "You are the maid that served the dragon clan, right? Can I assume the dragon clan is already aware of the circumstances that led their young master into this situation?" She asked, curiously.

Despite not stating the obvious, her words implicitly said, 'we won't be taking responsibility for this situation' Trisa furrowed her brow as she responded, "My apologies... But it was my own carelessness that led our beloved young master into this situation. Lady Ava has nothing to worry about."

"Oh, I'm curious but now isn't the time." Ava responded with a cordial smile. Using the moment when they were conversing, Jax stomped his feet heavily, lunging towards them at a tremendous speed. He seems to be using the movement technique of the Oblong family, as his movements were unusually fluid.

Once the distance between them was cut off, he thrust the blade of his sword made from spiritual energy towards Trisa's neck, with the intention of finishing her off first. Even if her body was gravely injured, the resources of the Oblong family could help her recovered.

Despite seeing her as nothing but a mere teenage girl, he instinctively knew she was dangerous, against them both his chances of winning seem slim. However, instead of hearing the sound of her flesh being pierced by his blade, what he heard was the sound of a dull impact as the blade of his sword had collided with a barrier made from magical energy.

Trisa gazed at Jax with evident disdain in her beautiful eyes, "Attacking a lady while she is in the middle of a conversation. As expected, the members of the Oblong family truly have no shame. Is this the way of the proud noble family you speak of?"

Jax clicked his tongue, enraged by her remarked, spiritual energy pulse violently on the blade of his sword as he swung vertically.

Bang!

The barrier of light Trisa had erected was destroyed and shattered as his spiritual energy attacked the barrier viciously. However, Trisa's expression remained indifferent as she cast fire magic, firing multiple balls of flame at his body in succession.

"... Guh!" His body moved reflexively, evading all the fire bullets that came shooting at him at high speed.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

A cloud of dust rose up from the land as the balls of condensed flames struck the earth with a deafening sound. Despite the severity of the situation, Jax moved his body nimbly, as he skillfully cut down the ball of flame with his sword made from condense spiritual energy.

However, as his attention was occupied cutting down each of the flame bullets, he had failed to notice Trisa's sudden approach. Using wind magic, she skillfully erased the sound of her footsteps as she snuck up on him silently, using the dust clouds as a smokescreen.

"Tch!" Jax clicked his tongue, annoyance evident on his face. He swung his sword so many times that it became indiscernible to the eyes. Sweat slid down his brow at his vigorous movements. However, as he had just cut down the last of the flame bullet, he felt a soft hand grasps his neck. "Guh." He let out a choked sound as his face winced from the force of his neck.

However, his hands moved instinctively, stabbing behind him. "Guh." A soft groan sounded behind his ear along with the sensation of flesh being pierced through by his blade.

Turning his head back slightly, he was greeted with the sight of Trisa staring down at him coldly, his blade was pierced through her abdomen. Her black and white maid attire was gradually being stained with blood.

"I don't care about the Oblong family, nor do I care about the other great noble families... But I will not tolerate any disrespect being directed towards the dragon clan. The dragon clan... Means everything to both me and my sister, we served the young master. And you dare to say such words to him!" Those words were spoken with an exceedingly cold voice, unthinkable for her usual cheerful self.

The once azure skies suddenly became filled with dark clouds. The sound of the howling wind resounded loudly.

Watching this from the side, Alan furrowed his brow. 'This feeling, what is this?' Something in the atmosphere felt ominous, it was strange, yet familiar to him at the same time.

[That girl, despite her appearance, she isn't completely human...] Akane responded sternly.

'I see... She must be a mixed blood.' He thought with a slight frown. He couldn't tell what race she was mixed with, but that dark aura surrounding Trisa was making him uncomfortable. Both Elena and Ava seem to be experiencing the same uncomfortable sensation, as their brow was slightly furrowed in doubt.

"W-What are you doing, Jax?! Kill her! I don't care about her anymore, just hurry up and kill her!" At the side, Lennox was screaming with a scared expression on his face. The dark aura seems to be having a great effect on him.

With a small inaudible grunt, spiritual energy began to circulate through Jax's body, he exerted strength into his arms, forcing the blade deeper into her flesh, her blood coated the blade of his sword. Trisa coughed a mouthful of blood from the blade piercing her stomach.

She gritted her teeth, tightening the strength of her grip around his neck.

Unfortunately, no matter how much he strengthens his physical body, he still couldn't break free from her grasps. Trisa's long fringes of her glossy black hair partially covered her face, blocking out the view of her eyes as she tightens her hold.

At the same time, the sound of bones breaking became audible to the ear. "Argh!" Jax howled in pain, his neck was being twisted out of place. Elena subconsciously covered her eyes at the gruesome scene.

Trisa's golden eyes, flickered from gold to red as she strengthens her grip around his neck and slammed his face roughly onto the ground with a twisted smile. Despite losing so much blood from her stab wound, she paid no heed to such thing, Jax gritted his teeth, no matter how much he fought against her hold he couldn't break free. 'I have no choice!' No matter what he had to protect the young master of the Oblong family.

Initially, he wanted to wait until reinforcement arrives, but giving the current situation he couldn't be as patient anymore.

{Young master, the enemies are stronger than I initially suspected. I will give you an opportunity to escape while reducing their numbers simultaneously.} He explained, telepathically.

Usually, when using telepathy, one must have physical contact with the target, but those who have exceptional control over their spiritual energy could do so by directing their will to their target. Lennox was greatly inferior to Jax in the manipulation of spiritual energy, so he wasn't able to guard against Jax spiritual intent.

{Jax! What is the meaning of this?! I ordered you to kill that woman immediately!} Lennox commanded sharply.

{Unfortunately, this woman has unnatural physical strength, I don't know if it's a powerful body enhancement or a secret technique, but I am unable to break free. I am going to use a forbidden technique to take her out along with the rest, during that time use a movement technique to escape and get to safety.} Jax explained.

Meanwhile, Ava frowned at the sight before her and subtly turned her gaze towards Alan, "Young master of the esteemed dragon clan, it seems your servant has a great deal of love to her clan. However, the situation is getting out of hand, don't you think?"

"Perhaps so." Alan responded calmly. He was still trying to figure out her bloodline from the subtle traces of her aura, but he sighed in disappointment as he couldn't identify the origin of this dark energy. "In any case, I have no other choice but to stop her." He lazily began to approach her from behind. However...

"Forbidden technique! Spiritual damnation!" Jax roared, at that moment, the spiritual energy within his body began to surge chaotically!

[He is going to self-detonate! Watch out!] Akane screamed. But it was too late.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

An explosion of colossal magnitude shook the vicinity mercilessly.

Everything within a thirty-mile radius was destroyed, the once beautiful structures collapse from the vicious shockwaves. A dense cloud of dust covered the surroundings, leaving everything obscured. However, as the stirring winds blew the dust away, Elena nervously opened her eyes. Darkness, all she could perceive around her was darkness.

When suddenly, something cold dripped onto her cheeks. Coming out of her daze with a gasp of air as she slowly gazes upwards.

The figure of someone's back could be seen before her, before the explosion could cover a large distance, Alan had reacted swiftly. Using blood manipulation, he had created a dome of solid blood to contain the explosion. Unfortunately, he had underestimated the ferocity of the technique. Even while contained, the technique 'Spiritual damnation' was unable to be completely suppress.

"Cough." Alan coughed out a mouthful of blood as he dropped to his knees, "Alan!" Elena's worried voice resounded from behind him, but in his current state, he had no time to spare for her right now. From his face to his shoulder, his blood painted the earth. His blood dome was completely shattered and broken. On pure instincts. In order to survive, he had even activated his new ability.

'Draconic armor' But even that was shattered, as his violet draconic scales crumbled from his body. "Big sister Trisa?" Alan grimaced as he got to his feet, his gaze swept across the surroundings, searching for her figure. Even while using draconic armor which boasted its impressive defensive prowess, he was still badly wounded. He couldn't imagine Trisa coming out unscathed, as she was at the center of the explosion.

A short distance away, what remains of Trisa's burnt body laid limply on the ground with smoke surrounding her figure. Alan clutched his right shoulders as he walked toward her unsteadily. "Alan, wait!" Elena reached out her hand, in an attempt to stop him from walking, concerned about his injured body, however, Ava's hand grasps her outstretched hand, "Ava, why are you hindering me?" Elena asked, annoyedly. "Sigh, it's not our place to interfere in their matter." She replied with a frown.

"What are you saying?" Elena yelled in dejection.

Even though she wanted to help, Ava had to consider the relationship between the sun clan and the dragon clan. After thinking about it, Elena spoke up. "Ava, I am going to marry the youngest heir of the dragon clan, as a member of the dragon clan, I order you to heal that woman." Hearing her words, Ava widened her eyes in a show of surprise. This was the first time Elena had acknowledged her marriage into the dragon clan.

"Understood, my lady." Ava replied, as she reached out her hand and chanted the aria, "Mother of light, heal your children with your soothing light."

A geometric formation appeared above Trisa's burnt body, bathing it in a transparent light. However, her face twisted uncomfortably from the light when suddenly, the formation shattered and dispersed into the air. "Th-The spell failed." Ava widened her eyes.

Why? She was greatly confused. Although it wasn't a high tier spell, it still should've been able to heal all external injuries.

"Strange, her body is actually resisting the spell." From within Alan's soul, Akane watched the situation take place with furrowed brow. "Does it have something to do with her bloodline?" She wondered.

"What happened? Why did your spell fail?" Elena asked aloud, as she struggled to her feet. "I don't know, my lady you should rest, don't move around too much." Ava said, worried about Elena's injured body.

The situation had taken an unexpected turn, considering the state of things the Oblong family had practically just declared war on not only the dragon clan, but also the sun clan as well. 'I should report the situation back to the patriarch.'

Meanwhile, as Alan gradually moved closer to Trisa's body he couldn't help but feel bitter inside. If he hadn't been so passive about the situation until now, then the situation wouldn't have gotten so out of hand. Indeed, if he had just killed both Lennox and Jax the moment they appeared he could've avoided this outcome.

Lennox was nowhere to be seen anymore; he had used a movement technique to escape the moment Jax had self-destruct. Alan clenched his fist in anger. At this moment he was filled with nothing but contempt at the Oblong family. 'You can run as far as you like, but I promise, not even your Oblong family can save you from me!'

As Jax was no longer alive, Alan turned his killing intent towards the next culprit.

At the same time, he observed Trisa's figure. Her once smooth porcelain skin had been burnt black, crumbling away like charcoal. Alan knelt down as he placed his head against her chest, checking for any signs of life.

"I can't hear her heartbeat anymore, is she really dead?" He furrowed his brow in concern.

However, at that moment, "Argh!" A scream of agonizing pain resounded. "Th-This...?" Alan's emerald, green eyes widened in astonishment.

[Regeneration? And a strong one at that!] Akane's surprise voice resounded.

Before Alan's eyes, Trisa's burnt figure was going through the process of restoration. Her burnt skin healed at a frighteningly fast paste, her once golden eyes were now as red as blood, while her pearly white teeth became fangs.

"I see... So that's her second race, she is part demon."
