"And also, what about her? What is her temperature?"

"I don't know."

"What do you mean you dont know?"

"I dont know where the thermometer is."

"Hmm... check the drawers of the kitchen. You might find it there."

"Okay mom."

Kanako went down again to find the thermometer in the kitchen. Upon arriving there, he searched all the drawers of the kitchen, but he didn't find luck.

"Its not here mom-"

His eyes gazed on top the the refrigerator, which had a preculiar box on top, mostly resembling that of a first aid kit.

"I might have found it."

He took the box and opened it on the dining table. His assumptions were true. It was a first aid kit. Taking it with him, he went upstairs.

"Now check the temperature. I will guide you how to do things properly."

He gently placed the thermometer in Ayane's armpit. Her whole body is still burning nonetheless.

It was a digital thermometer, so Kanako waited for the sound to go off.

After a minute, hearing the sound, he took out the thermometer and checked it.

"40C??!"

"What!?"

His mom panicked hearing such high temperatures.

"You need to help her quick!"

"What should I do!?"

"Listen Kanako, get an Ice bag and put it on her head and wipe her body with wet towels to get her temperatures down."

"Eh?!!"

Kanako's face reddend hearing that. He now has to wipe her whole body?

"B-but m-mom!"

His mom just then realised what she had ordered her son to do.

"Forget that part! Just wipe her hands and the body parts visible!"

"O-okay.", kanako said, flustered.

"And let me see. There should be a note inside the fist aid kit about fevers."

Kanako searched for it, "I found it."

"There should be the list for medications for the fever. Wake her up a little and give her those, okay?"

"Okay. Thanks mom. I am hanging up now."

"And also, make porridge after she recovers."

"Okay mom. Bye."

He hung up and became busy with all the work.

Meanwhile her mother just sat on the chair, looking up and lost in thought.

"So... it's a she... huh?"

She giggled a bit.

"I guess that is the reason for Kanako's change. I guess it's good for him in a way. Maybe I should ask him to introduce her to me someday."

Kanako's having a tough day today, going down and up the stairs again and again. He found ice in the refrigerator and packed it in a bag, to make an ice bag.

"I guess that should work."

Going to her room, he put the ice bag on her head. Now it was time for the hardest part of them all.
