Chapter 58:

The Spice that makes life fun [Season 1 End]

Spice of life [Remake]

The entire staff gathered as Onrai and Maju arrived. "Talk about a fancy place. This feels like a hotel ballroom," Onrai remarked.

"Funnily enough, the mall we renovated this place from actually has a hotel deep within. Now that business is booming, maybe we can expand and renovate the whole old mall," Rika mused.

"Rika, we don't have THAT much money," Masaru glared.

"So, since there's two floors with stages, does that mean we get 1 floor each to perform on?" Maju asked.

"Yes and no. I actually had a camera system installed so that footage from the stage will be projected to the stage on the second floor," Rika grinned.

"Wow, that's pretty cool," Onrai and Maju gawked.

"Yeah, it can also do the inverse too. Anyway, Maju will go first and perform on the stage on the second floor, then Onrai comes goes on for the rest of the night on the ground floor stage. Oh, and Maju I need to tell you about something important," Rika grinned.

In the Tt hotel restaurant Ookuma glared as Rebelle debriefed her on what happened at Ryokoma. "So, you say you saw Yuugen killed?" she asked.

"Correct, I witnessed him fly through a building and fall to the ground. He let out a scream, but by the time I descended to the ground floor, no trace of him remained. His eldest daughter then confirmed he, along with Alice and KR0-K0W were killed. Unlike with the Hasselhans, Rika was aided by some notable allies like Dastard, Izuhana, and Nero," Rebelle stated.

"Then Rika Korosekai is to be branded a traitor. I shall inform the council to place a bounty on her head as well as raise the bounties of all who aided her."

"So, you're going to abandon your plan to use her?"

"Yes. We might have had a chance if you hadn't blundered with your gaffe, but no matter. My ascension to prime minister isn't in the slightest of jeopardy."

"Well fancy seeing you here, Rebelle," Himawari glared as she approached the two.

"Ah, Commissioner Rikuma, a pleasure to make your acquaintance again," Ookuma smiled.

"Likewise, Madam Ookuma," Himawari nodded as she sat down.

"I heard quite the incident occurred at your station recently. Care to enlighten me on some of the finer details?"

...

Maju bowed as she finished her penultimate magic trick. Everyone at Ryokoma seemed to enjoy her performance.

"You got some good performers," Masaru nodded.

"Heh, Magic impresses you? I can always wear a bunny suit like that anytime you want," Rika grinned.

"Rika!"

"Come on, I know you like seeing me dress up in sexy outfits."

"Are you alright about your family?"

"Yeah. It would have been nice if they could see eye to eye, but sadly they couldn't."

"Does this mean you're free from your burden?"

"Nino's now technically head of the family, and she just disowned me, so guess that's a yes. Though as for I.L.U., not so much. They don't take kindly to traitors, hell I'm probably gonna get a bounty put on my head like Hanabi."

"B- Bounty!?"

"Yeah, though I can defend myself. Plus, I've got some loyal patrons and staff that will happily protect this place," Rika smiled as she glanced across the room.

"Um, Ri-chan, is now a good time to tell him about the surprise?" Mimi nervously asked as she and the rest of the staff approached the two.

"What surprise?" Masaru asked.

"Well, we kind of renovated the arcade room too," Rika nervously chuckled.

"HUH!?"

"She wanted to make it a surprise," Matcha sighed.

"Well, a new arcade section is bound to be a nice surprise," Benihime laughed.

"The builders were the ones who gave us the discount. Seems they've been coming here since we opened," Zuina stated.

"We also got some top-of-the-line arcade machines at a discount from a patron. Don't worry, when Rika mentioned this, I made sure to have me look at the budget," Itsuki stated.

"But, what about the 6-month anniversary?" Masaru trembled.

"The theater!" Rika smiled.

"Ugh, Rika why did you do something like that!?"

"Well, having an arcade would bring more life to the building. Now we can become more of a hangout spot than we already are. Oh! It's time for the big reveal!"

"And for my final magic trick, I'm going to add an arcade to this place. This is a one-time only act, so pay close attention!" Maju declared as she pointed her wand towards a wall on the second floor.

The fake wall then fell to reveal a brand-new arcade section.

"Rika, that room is huge!" Masaru shouted.

"It has plenty of arcade machines, crane games, and even a few karaoke booths and a laser tag arena," Rika gushed.

Patrons immediately rushed into the arcade as Maju took a bow.

"If patrons weren't happily rushing in and enjoying themselves, I would have been angrier," Masaru sighed.

"Heh, guess maybe I am a bit more eccentric than passionate," Rika grinned.

"No, perhaps you're both. Don't worry, no matter what trials we may face, I'll make sure to stay by your side through it all."

"So can I take this as a proposal?"

"Pr- PROPOSAL!? Fine, I did say I'd take your hand in marriage. Though I'd prefer to not get married immediately,” Masaru blushed.

"No worries. I can wait. For now, we'll just say we're engaged. Hmm, maybe we could renovate an area to dedicate to wedding ceremonies."

Everyone simply burst into laughter.

"Rika, you are the spice that makes life happy and fun," Masaru smiled.

“And you’re the one that warms my heart and puts me at ease, Rika serenely smiled as she kissed Masaru on the lips.
