Chapter 4:

Girl’s Day Out

My Roommate Is A Cat Enthusiast: Volume 1

The awaited Saturday rolls around.

Renalia awakens early, once again at 6.30 in the morning, sits up in bed and gently yawns and begins to stretch.

Vivia, as she looks over nonchalantly, is again gently sound asleep with a smile of amusement. Ren quietly slips out of bed, getting dressed as quietly as possible without thinking, slipping on some baggy morning clothing before opening the bedroom door carefully so as to not wake up Vivia.

She carefully makes herself a breakfast and a cup of tea, enjoying the first light of morning, as the warmth of the sunrays illuminates the dining room. She finishes her breakfast in sublime peace.

Some time passes, slowly drinking her tea, Vivia emerges in loosely fitted pyjamas, tiredly stumbling to the bathroom to wash her face. As Vivia gets dressed in the bedroom, Ren imagines in her minds eye a carefree Vivia coming out with her usual enthusiasm to start the day.

Nothing like before.

However, after Vivia returns to the bedroom for a while, what catches Ren’s attention was Vivia appearing in what seems to be public, outdoors attire.

Dressed in a fancier, patterned crop top with a thin layered, light jacket in her arms, a matching patterned skirt and dark, slightly transparent stockings with light makeup and a consistent colour-themed ponytail hairpin.

She is ready for a day out.

She prepares her outdoor flat heels, before neatly placing her jacket on a chair to make herself breakfast and a cup of tea. Ren, seeing a whole new Vivia for the first time, is prompted to ask what is the occasion today as she eats her breakfast whilst drinking her tea.

“Um, Vivia,” asks Ren.

“Yes, what’s up?” replies Vivia, finishing her meal before clearing the table and tidying up the kitchen.

“Are you off somewhere?”

Ren thinks along the lines of why is she maturely dressed, ‘Hmm… she seems to be dressed to be going out, especially looking like she’s off to meet someone she likes a lot. Likes? Maybe a boyfriend or something…’

Vivia nods, explaining, “I am meeting a friend in an hour or so. Gotta keep this place looking nice and tidy for when they arrive,” as she tidies the main area of view from the door, “We are going to hang out for a while. Erm, you can join if you’re interested.”

“Well,” hesitates Ren, pondering, ‘If it’s a boyfriend, I don’t think I should get in his way if I do join her. That would be so awkward being a third wheel in that situation…’

Finishing the cleaning up, she shrugs casually, “I’m not forcing you or anything. I mean,” she says whilst sorting out her purse and keys, “it’s just to hang out in town. If you want to know where some important places are, then it’ll be a good idea to join us.” Vivia completes the little sorting out arrangements, as she leans back on the kitchen counter waiting for a definite reply.

A face of tension and conflict spreads over Ren, before releasing her vague answer to affirm a final decision in a while, “I’ll think about it.”

“Okay, well,” Vivia gestures, “make sure you know whether or not you want to join. Anyways, chill until we go, as I’ll answer the door, okay.”

“Sure,” Ren guiltily replies as she sits down on the sofa to determine her decision.

‘Mmm… I’ll decide when I meet this person, since Vivia didn’t say that my choice would affect her outing plans. Well, if it’s a guy, I feel like I’ll be in the way, so I’ll stay behind,’ she ponders, wondering what to say to get past this divisive decision.

She continues thinking, ‘I mean, I do want to see where a few shops are. The supermarket, the electronics store, the bakery,’ as she imagines the fresh smells, the warm heat of the ovens and the lovely arrays of freshly baked bread laying the shelves. ‘So many places I have no idea are around, but I do want it to be a comfortable situation to do so. So, I’ll wait until they come.’

Time passes whilst Vivia checks some videos online and Renalia listens to music as the clock ticks 12.20.

Dingdong!

Ren perks up as Vivia shouts, “Oh, coming!”

‘I’m curious to who this is,’ she wonders as she watches Vivia head to the front door, unlocking the locks, to see who the ‘friend’ was.

“Yo Vivia, how’s it goin’ lately?”

A feminine voice echoes down the hall, catching Ren’s expectations totally off-guard, ‘Eh… EH!?!?!?!?!?!?!? It’s…a woman?’

What Ren could see as she steps into view was a cute yet beautiful woman, with her soft, voluptuous combed dark purple hair, sparkling cyan eyes and a cheeky though rather sweet smile. Her figure was not as curvaceous as either Ren’s or Vivia’s, but proportionately slender and curvy hips balancing her pretty face.

She was dressed in a black tight skirt and a gaming top that colour-coordinated with her dark-grey false-leather jacket. She had several gothic necklaces, fishnet stockings that nicely flowed with her black-heeled boots. To Ren, she looked amazing.

Vivia happily replies, “It’s going fine. C’mon here,” emotively hugging Estie before enticing her in, “Come on in, I can talk more about it,” leading her inside as Estie locks eyes without even noticing a new presence in the vicinity.

“Sure,” Estie says as she closes the door behind her, following close behind Vivia as they make their way into the kitchen, as Ren sits on the sofa watching the girls just out of view.

“So, you ready for the time of your life?” Estie asks, winking.

Smiling excitedly, “Absolutely!” expresses Vivia.

Estie happily grins, “I’ll know you’ll love it. Especially,” leaning her back on the kitchen counter, “given how much themed merchandise you have.” Vivia giggles, putting the last dishes away, “I know, I know.”

A staring presence catches Estie’s attention.

“Hey, who’s this lass,” she asks Vivia, as she thumb points towards the sofa. “Oh,” gesturing for Ren to approach the kitchen, “This is Renalia, or Ren, my roommate. She moved in just recently.”

Ren cautiously walks into the clear, a slight anxiousness to each step as to who this is. “Erm, hi.”

She ponders at this new person in front of her, ‘She, is a really lovely woman; pretty stylish. Wait… now that I get look at her, is she wearing gothic attire? I wonder if she is into rock or even heavy metal… No, wait. I’ve just met her, but later, I can ask her when I get to know her.’

Estie has a fresh idea, asking, “Oh, Vivi. Can we ask her out to tour the town?”

“Erm…” Ren says at the sudden question, looking to Vivia for any kind of help, however, Vivia adds, “Sure, I mean I did ask Ren if she wanted to see town to get accustomed but, she was rather hesitant.”

“I thought-“ Ren tries to explain, but the new visitor interrupts.

“Ah, hmm?” Estie interjects in a flirtatious yet dominating-judgmental tone. She looks at Ren more closely, cheekily grinning as she looks at her lower half. She begins to approach her new found teasing target, looking up and down with excitement for some time of indulgent fun.

‘Huh? Wait, why is she looking at me like that?’ Ren questions. her concerns growing as Vivia notices what Estie is looking at.

“Ya know what? Ren,” Estie teasingly says, leaning forward, Vivia holding back any kind of defence to Ren’s situation.

“Um, what?” Ren perplexes, pulling a defensive stance in kind to Estie’s engaging presence.

“I’m going to ask you. Na, I’m gonna pester you to come with us,” walking around Ren, “I want to visit somewhere with you. After lunch,” putting her hands on her shoulders. Expressively begging for help, Ren says “Erm, Vivia…”

Though, to Ren’s dismay, Vivia comments “Heh, just humour her, Ren. It’ll be good for you to go out and about for a change,” smiling with little care to Ren’s lack of comfortability.

Ren then breaks under the pressure, sighing, “Sure. Okay.”

‘Even though I have been around town, though a little,’ Ren saying, trying to regain confidence to the mounted pressure.

“Awesome!” Rejoices Estie, as Vivia finishes the final tidying up of the cleaned dishes and cutlery, “Right, I’m done. Get dressed Ren, then we go.”

After Ren puts on some decent public clothing; some standard jeans, a band t-shirt and thin leather jacket with her trainers, the three make their way out of the apartment building, heading to the center of town via bus after they checked which one to take on their phones.

The three arrive at their first destination. The shopping mall, where Vivia points out the entrance and exit of the transport hub for buses, trains and taxis after leaving the center hub as Ren follows the groups lead. Noting down the directions, a sense of comfort and ease starts to fill Ren’s confidence as the easiness of the layout of the town sinks into her consciousness as they walk through the mall, passing by shops that grab Ren’s attention.

They pass electronic stores, sit-in cafes, small clothing businesses and the occasional corner store for snacks, magazines and the like. Ren thinks to herself as they walk around, ‘Now that I know where the important shops are to repair my phone if needs be, grab a snack and even try out some foreign delicacies, I wonder which shop Vivia and her friend will show me…’

The women finally arrive at the clothes store of Estie’s choice, ‘Top Heavy’. Ren reads the shop logo, disappointment replacing her positive expressive emotions. ‘Ha! Top Heavy. Of course…’ She thought to herself, putting Vivia’s main ‘features’ and the logo insinuation together.

Estie redirects Ren’s attention, explaining as she faces the shop, “I totally recommend this store for trying out some new clothes. From really good quality tops to really slick and clean bottoms and the like. Also, amazing underwear options with a good collection of socks, stockings and even a few pairs of indoor shoes,” she turns back to Ren, “Well then, shall we go in?”

Vivia thumbs inward to Ren, “C’mon, you can try out some of their new items. It’ll be worth your while.” Fumbling to answer, Ren replies, “Um… well, only for a bit.”

The girls look around the store before Estie finds some skin-tight jogging bottoms, calling over Renalia to look. “Here, why not try these,” Estie says, measuring the measurements of them against Ren’s waist, “It’ll definitely be worth having some of these.”

‘Do I have to?’ Ren thinks to herself, as the expectations build from the both of them. Vivia adds, “Yeah, true. I mean, she does go jogging and what not.”

“Um…okay…” off-puttingly replies Ren, the pressure becoming too uncomfortable to reject.

Embarrassingly, Ren tries them on in the changing room, in the back of the store in small, curtained rooms, where she displays it to the two who ask her to spin around to get a better look.

Estie asks Vivia, Ren blushing at the accentuating look of the jogging bottoms, “Well Vivia, whatcha think?”

‘Mmm… well,’ ponders Vivia, as a humorous attitude takes over, ‘the joggies do look good on her, especially with those damn hips. Hehe, do you know what? I think I might tease her for a bit. Be funny to see her reactions.’

“Well, to be perfectly honest…peach perfect,” Vivia cheekily responds, thumbs upping Ren’s outfit.

Estie giggles, “That comment was definitely, very cheeky.”

Reacting with disappointment to the jokes as the two giggle together at the childish behaviour, Ren bluntly asks, “Are we done?”

Looking on with amusement, Estie says, “No, we’re not done here.”

Estie shows her a neatly stacked pile of chosen items, from skirts to shorts, to even stockings. Ren, blushing to the large array of clothing to entertain the girls with, gives in to the pressure by putting on each one.

She first tries on the shorts, where Vivia and Estie teasingly comment on the aesthetical nature of the bottoms. Ren blushes with annoyance as she wears the next items. Trying on a tight-wrapping skirt, the girls teasingly compliment Ren.

Estie teases, “Ooo, very nice. You could say, quite bootiful,” Vivia giggles whilst adding the commentary, “Now that was a puntiful compliment.”

Both girls look at each other with total amusement, “Hehe, it was nothing,” Estie replies, cheekily reacting to the punny joke. Vivia compliments, grinning, “From me, they’re very assthetically pleasing.”

As the girls laugh to the silliness, Ren angrily blushes, complaining, “Are we done?!”

Unfortunately, it was not over.

Ren continues to try a few more items that don’t really add much to the jokes, as she is pestered once more to put on something for the girl’s amusement, trying on a body-hugging flower-patterned beach dress.

She reveals her outfit from the dressing curtains.

“Oh, yeah. Now that, is beach butty worthy,” teases Vivia, finger-clicking as Estie adds, “Could also say beach booty ready.”

The two girls laugh passionately, as Ren blushes harder, screeching, “uh…ARE WE DONE?!”

The three do finish after looking through more of the shop but to no avail for new items for Ren to wear. Although the teasing was tiring and embarrassing, Ren still buys the clothes she tried as they all make their way to the shop exit, since she did end up liking them after looking at herself in them in the mirror, deciding what suits her, which apparently were most of them.

The three walk out of the shopping mall, several bags hanging from Ren’s hands. Sighing, she says, “That was quite the ordeal…”

“But you did look good in them. You should be proud of that figure,” ensures Estie, as she tries to cheer Ren up. “Yeah, I mean, who wouldn’t want to show off that real sexy rear to the world,” adds Vivia, smiling encouragingly.

Ren blushes with shyness in response to their compliments, “What? And be like you with those amazing, huge boobs of yours?”

She pauses, thinking for a second before bouncing her chest with pride, cheekily saying, “I mean, they’re quite the spectacle, hehe.” Estie joins in on the act, “Hmm, you’re not wrong,” swaying her hip, “Given how those have their own gravitational pull.”

“Well for your sake,” Vivia continues, “hope you don’t get sucked into them,” leaning forward to assert domination over Estie’s inferior attributes.

“Given my breast record for standing firm to the ground, I don’t think that would be an issue,” concludes Estie, leaning forward with an expression of cheeky confidence.

Both girls moderately laugh at the stupid little skit, as they walk in tangent to each other.

However, to their ignorance, Ren watches on in jealousy of the two’s shamelessness and pride, as loneliness begins filling her mind. She thinks deeply, ‘I wish I had their sense of pride… kind of feel left out.’

Out of her dark spiral of negativity growing, Ren’s thoughts are interrupted when Estie loudly says, “Now, I am hungry. Say Ren…”

“Oh… yeah?”

“Wanna grab a bite to eat?” Asks Estie.

“Well,” Ren says as her stomach grumbles, “I am also hungry.”

“So then,” Estie smiles, hip side-bouncing Ren’s, “ready to fill up that belly?”

Happiness returns as the mood gets lighter, Ren smiles, “Yeah, I am.” Vivia claps her hands, proclaiming, “Right. Maccies it is then!”

The girls make their way to McFondald’s as they order some of their favourite meals. Vivia and Estie play-eat as they have their meal, Ren laughing as the girls childishly tease whilst also laughing along.

“Hey, here comes the chip-plane,” Vivia teases as Estie opens wide to a pretend plane-moving chip, “Nom. Tastes like salty airlines,” she jokingly comments.

Ren giggles at the stupidity of the two.

“Well, these ones are too late to take off, as it goes. Om, into my mowf,” Vivia says, chomping down on a handful of chips she grabs from the chip holder.

Estie sips her juice from her cup before thinking of bombing Vivia with some chicken nuggets, Ren watching the kiddie behaviour with amusement.

“Oh no, the army has sent in some bombers for backup, whatever will you do?” Estie playfully says, her right hand high with a chicken nugget in grasp, arching towards Vivia’s head above as she opens wide and catches the nugget with a “Om, bomus assemwu.”

Ren chuckles as she tries to eat the meal she ordered, the scene of adult girls playing army with their food tickling her funny side that she cannot control.

The three slowly yet satisfyingly finish their meals before they check the time, reading 1.45pm, thinking of where to head to next.

“So, where shall we head to next? We have plenty of time to visit anywhere,” Vivia states, looking back and forth between Ren and Estie.

Estie replies, after the table was cleared of rubbish and empty food packets, “nothing in particular, well, I don’t have anywhere I would like to go,” looking at Ren with prodding-indicative eyes.

Ren notices Estie’s expression, feeling the pressure to make a decision build but then something smashes it all down as she looks down when she tries to think, her shoes in view giving her an actual decision to put forward.

“Um,” Ren says, both girls looking at her casually, “I do need somewhere to go.”

“Oh, do tell,” Estie casually pesters, leaning forward on the table with expectant eyes.

Vivia adds confirmation, saying, “there’s no rush. We have all afternoon.”

Ren closes her eyes before answering, “Can we go to the shoes store? I need to buy some new running shoes, my current ones are starting to wear out..”

Vivia and Estie both look at each other with curiosity and both say, “Yeah, sure. Let’s go.”

Renalia smiles, as all three make their way to the shoes store.

The three arrive, looking at the new shoes lining the walls, as Ren immediately heads to her precisely chosen section where her type are stacked in red-coloured boxes. Memory Foam.

Ren searches through the racks of trainers, wondering what type she wants.

“Know what you’re after?” Estie questions, looking at Ren with curiosity, wondering what type of brand she likes as to Ren’s unknowing fate; Estie designs fashion for her own unique brand and shoes, including trainers, which are part of her product range.

“Hmm… these ones. Because, the way they feel when I’m running are just perfect for all kinds of seasons and terrain,” Ren replies, explaining as she picks up one box with a brand called ‘V-Jags’.

“Ahh, I see,” Estie says, looking on in competitive nature to the shoes as Ren heads to the sitting area to try them on.

‘V-Jags… really have me beaten,’ Estie thinks as her business competitiveness kicks in. “I’ll have to try harder next time to get Ren’s interest. I’ll be back!” comically states Estie, as she shakes her fist at the ‘V-Jags’ brand.

As Ren enjoys the comfort of the shoes, Vivia interrupts the two in their own world as she comes forth with two shoes in hand.

“Hey, girls. This will definitely grab people’s attention,” Vivia teasingly says. Both girls look on in confusion.

“Coming soon to a store near you. The new Jag-jugs for sale!” She places both shoes on either of her breasts, bobbing them up and down.

Estie laughs at the stupid skit, adding, “Hahaha, nearly 50 percent off with your next order.”

Ren looks on with total and complete disappointment to the two’s ridiculous public behaviour.

After the silliness, Ren buys the shoes with eagerness to leave after the embarrassment of her two friends.

The town guiding continues after the girls leave the shoes store around quarter past 3.

Vivia checks her phone, seeing that there is plenty of time before heading to the main chosen destination she and Estie had planned before. She calls out to the girls about walking towards the supermarket, and they both happily accept the idea after checking their purchased items.

The three walks past a few shops, like ‘Raldi’ and ‘Spasda,’ before arriving to the girl’s favourite: ‘Nipsbury,’ Ren responding disappointingly to the breast theme again.

Vivia and crew walk around the shop, taking in the main areas from the bread shelves to the meats and condiments, passing by the vegetables and fruit isle before they stop to chat for a bit.

“Well, here are the fruit if you want to buy any at some point,” explains Vivia, cheekily grinning, “I mean, if you are in a peach, you’ll know that you ask for help,” Vivia giggles picking up some peaches.

Estie skits in, “Oh, now Vivi. If she is in a pickle, she can always ask us two if things go pearly,” smiling with a pear in hand.

Knowing the target topic of the puns, Ren expresses with an unsurprising look, “Erm, I feel like there is a secondary reason to those puns…”

“Well,” Vivia winks, “you know Ren.”

“Bet you can’t deny it,” Estie adds, both indicating the butt-cheek shape of the peach and bottom of the pear.

Reacting with a disappointing humoured expression, “really now?”

The girls all giggle before leaving the supermarket with their recent shopping still in hand.

Spinning around to face the other two, Estie says, “Well, now that the grocery tour is over, I wanna show you a few nice snack shops around here,” smiling passionately.

“Yeah, like sweets, bread and cakes, or even a nice place for a hot drink,” Vivia adds pointing at the street over-yonder.

Smiling, Ren thinks, ‘I wonder what kind of shops we will see. Could buy a hot Cappuccino sometime,’ warm to the idea of a casual chill day out. She replies, “Oh, sounds nice. Are we heading there now?”

“You betcha!” Estie thumbs up.

Excited, the girls head down the main street off the supermarket junction to a second-main street. The road was lined with eccentric mini-stores, each individually expressive of their products lining the window displays. Walking to a cutely decorated place, Estie excitingly explains, “Here’s my favourite candy store, ‘Chic & Choc,’ my kind of place to get a few snacks to suck on.”

“Oh,” Vivia teasingly grins, “I know what you like to suck though, to be honest,” Ren blushing to the innuendo as Estie fluidly responds, “Well, you know when the time is right to get some of that content, after all.”

The two laugh passionately to themselves before they continue on to the next few shops down the road.

They arrive at a side store, ‘T. Thighlans,’ Estie explains away, “Anyway, here’s the confectionery store, filled with all that good stuff you can get for cheap. The prices are worth it if you want a snack here.”

“Ah, I see,” Ren says, contrastingly thinking, ‘I am trying to forget what she says before. Cause now those images are filling my mind and I am not ready for such thoughts at this moment…’

A little while further, they come across Vivia’s personal shop, ‘Quick Stop!’ as she points whilst explaining away, “Oh, here’s my kind of store, a gaming one. You can get some nice figurines and items for your collection, as well as a few new pre-purchases that aren’t on sale online. Including free codes.”

Estie sighs, “You and your toys.”

“Hey,” Vivia rebuts, “y’know I like to buy them now and again.”

Lewd thoughts start appearing again in Ren’s mind, shaking her head. “Now, that can be taken out of context…” Ren retorts.

Vivia pokes Ren’s cheek, both girls giggling at the funny reaction, as they move onto the next few stores. One being a gaming arcade centre.

“Right here is a popular games centre, though we don’t really go…” Estie says, shrugging her shoulders.

“Oh…” Ren emotionlessly replies.

“But here,” Vivia interjects, improving the good vibe, “is a really nice bakery we sometimes stop by before going to our favourite place.”

“Oh,” Ren says, “I see, well uh…”

Looking up to the bakery sign, a face of realization spreads over Ren’s face as she monologues to herself, checking her phone’s email about work with the address underneath. ‘Hold on a minute… I’ll… be working here next Monday. Yes. This is the place.’

As Ren’s face lights up, her expression catches Vivia’s attention, as a memory flashbacks into her conscious.

[Flashback:]

Ren, whilst checking her phone on the sofa, responds to Vivia after she asks about what she will be doing for work.

“I’ll be working at a local bakery, next Monday after, since I love baking.”

“Oh!” Vivia responds, “Guess you really do love cooking and whatnot.”

Ren looks to Vivia with confidence, “I love it! Absolutely! It’s a passion of mine.”

Vivia smiles respectively, “Oh-ho, a total beast of a baker in the making, I assume.”

Ren giggles, fist on chest, “You betcha! Want me to make some sweet pastries for your stream one time?”

Smiling ecstatically, Vivia chuckles “Please do! Be so good, like a literal advertisement for a dessert brand.”

Adding some notes to her phone, Ren concludes “Be sure they shall be that good. Well, when I go to my work bakery, I’ll improve my skills fourfold.”

[Flashback End]

‘Ah…hehe,’ Vivia smirking to herself, thinking, ‘So, this must be her new workplace. Now I remember, but I do know what to do when she’s been here for a bit. Hehe.’

Snapping the girls’ attentions, Estie teases, “And over here, is where Vivia will be enjoying her next several hours before we all go home.”

Confused yet curious, Ren asks, “Oh, doing what exactly…?”

Estie comically replying, “Stroking pussy.”

Blushing to the heavens, Ren shockingly gasps, “Eh…?!”

Vivia puts both hands on her own hips, retorting, “Heyyo… Now, that can definitely be taken out of context!”

Giggling to the chaotic reactions, Estie says clearing the confusion, “Well, we did plan to come here for you after all.”

Vivia jokes along, “You know I only come at certain times…” Ren blushing to the maximum, thinking of how these innuendos are just too much for one day. Before she could interrupt, Vivia catches her mindset off guard.

“Well… Awwww,” Vivia heavenly smiles at the sight in front of her.

Ren thinks perplexingly, ‘I hope she doesn’t mean what I think she just me- oh. Cute!’

As Ren’s eyes fixates on the window front, she looks through the glass plane in parallel to Vivia, to see cute, furry companions staring back at the three. Cats, a ginger, a spotted white and marble-coated one sitting on a cat tower resting and sleeping. Vivia presses her face up to the window with heavenly peace at the little cuties within her eyeshot.

‘Oh, wait,’ Ren thinks as she puts some correlating puzzle-pieces together, ‘Don’t tell me… Vivia is not just a big fan of cats, but a HUGE fan instead,’ putting her hand to her chin. ‘That makes a lot of sense as to what I saw in her bedroom, even her headphones and clothing choices… but, the real question is just how enthusiastic is she?’

Breaking the silence, Estie questions, “Well then, shall we go in?”

“Yes!” Excitingly shouted Vivia, her face beaming with cheerfulness, Ren unsurely answers, “Ah…eh…sure, I guess,” thinking about how although she doesn’t mind cats, she just prefers dogs instead. ‘Ah well, let us enjoy this ‘Cat Café’…’ Ren ponders, as the three make their way over to the slotted seats booked beforehand, the roaming felines curiously crawling around them as they slowly step past.

When Ren and Estie sit down, Vivia immediately disappears from the table as the other two hear from below the table-line.

“Ah!!! So cute! Too cute!!!” Vivia proclaims, intimately stroking a ginger cat as she smothers her face in its fur with a huge heavenly smile. She plays with the cat as it purrs rubbing up against her legs and face, allowing her to be very affectionate with the stroking and cuddling.

As a few cats join in, Vivia is enjoying it more and more, Ren inquisitively watches the scene as thoughts of rule-keeping assaults her comfortability. “Erm, are you sure we can pet them?” Ren asks Estie, as she sips her fresh tea, but asserts with bluntness, “Well, to be straightforward, cat owners with at least 5 years’ experience can handle them freely. Vivia has had over 15 to 20 so…”

“Ah I see,” understands Ren, as a spotted cat jumps onto the table, sniffing Ren’s hand as she gently strokes it before it lies down for more. She continues, “Well, Vivia looks like she’s in heaven right now. She looks so happy, even though she’s had cats all her life?”

Allowing a white-spotted ginger cat to jump onto her lap and lay down, Estie explains whilst slowly stroking it, “You see, her favourites have given her a lot of happy memories over her childhood, so she kind of turns,” pointing at Vivia, “rather girly when interacting with cats.”

Kneeling on the floor, Vivia holds the ginger cat in her hands above her head, childishly giggling and smiling whilst the other cats affectionately purr and rub all over her.

“Ah…” Ren replies. ‘My expectations have taken a nose dive to a whole new level,’ Ren thinks to herself, watching her respect for Vivia’s maturity disappointingly drop.

The girls sip their coffee and tea, stroking the cats that come into reach, as Vivia plays with a few comfortable cats kneeling down. As the girls relax for a bit, Estie’s attention zooms in on a goofy, flat-faced cat walking in to the main cuddling area. “Oh, that one looks like a lot like Vivia’s favourite one at home. Looks right retarded, doesn’t it?”

“You can’t say that about a cat,” Ren rebuts, but then she notices the cat Estie is watching, “Oh, I do get you, but…” as she ponders about the insensitive comments.

Estie lets her cuddling cat on her lap drop down, as she turns to explain Vivia’s backstory. “Basically, one of Vivia’s favourite cats is a retarded, dumb-looking goofy character from a comic,” Estie starts, “Got an essence of stupidity, yet so fuckin’ cute,” smiling whilst in thought. “I see,” responds Ren, “but why does Vivia like them so much?”

Looking across at Renalia, Estie leans forward assertively, “Because it’s funny to play with. Once, it pounced for a bird on a fence one day, and ended up face first with its legs,” stopping a break of laughter from escaping, “sticking out.” She leans back in the chair, bursting out laughing, reminiscing shortly before adding, “it was like a cat-gone-porno from dumbville.” Ren humorously reacts with shock laughter due to how absurd the description was, “Pfft… What sort of description was that?”

Calming down, Estie reiterates, “It’s true though. I played with him several times when Vivia was living with him, and I couldn’t stop wheezing when I played fetch with him and his toy ball.”

After the two calmed down, Vivia overhears them, gets up to sit at the table to tell her side of the story to Ren as Estie walks off for another refill. “So, you guys were speaking about Dave,” Vivia says.

Confused, Ren asks, “Ah, erm. Wait… Dave?”

“Yep,” asserts Vivia, “my most comical cat from my family days of living with my parents, when I couldn’t afford myself a home,” crossing her legs as she gets comfortable, the flat-faced cat sleeping on her legs very lousily. “I was simply living off of my parent’s allowance before becoming a streamer, and Dave would always be a laugh when I played with him.”

Acknowledging the story, Ren asks curiously, “Ah, okay. That makes sense, so why did you leave him behind then if you enjoyed him so much?”

Sighing, Vivia explains, “um… due to rules of the apartment, we can’t keep pets so…”

“Oh,” Ren sadly replies, “I see. You must miss him then…”

Vivia grins, holding the cat by its paws in a human stance, “Well, this one reminds me of him so I don’t feel too lonely. Right Bob?” She childishly rubs her face up against the cat’s as she giggles.

Ren blankly looks at the cat. “Bob?” Ren questions.

Estie returns to her seat, overhearing the conversation, “It’s this cat’s name. Dumb, isn’t it?” She giggles. Vivia places the cat back onto her lap as it curls up and falls asleep. Ren smiles, giving in to the girl’s love, “Well, still cute…”

The sun begins to set, indicating the evening coming.

The three finish off their time at the cat café, Vivia slightly begging to stay longer though Estie pressures to leave so she doesn’t miss her bus.

As the three arrive at the transport hub, Estie says her goodbyes.

“See ya later. Nice meeting you Ren,” happily comments Estie, before getting in line for the bus. “You too,” Ren responds, waving in return. ‘She was really friendly, I’m glad I hung out with these two. I shouldn’t jump to conclusions from now on,’ imagines Ren.

Estie turns back around, jokingly teases, “By the way, can we hang out again sometime, Thickie-Ren?”

Eh… really had to bring my ass into this?” Embarrassingly replies Ren, pouting at Estie’s cheeky grin, ‘She really had to tease me about my butt, didn’t she?’ she thinks blushingly.

Vivia laughs in sequence, “Pfft. Thickie-Ren…”

“Oi!” Ren exclaims, playingly pushing Vivia. Estie adds, “Well, I am free during the weekends, so don’t feel shy to hang out with me now and again. Hehe. See ya Vivi, Ren.”

“See ya,” Vivia waves, as Estie peace signs before walking back to the end of the line as the other two wave again and head out onto the main street.

Ren says, “She was nice,” placing her hands behind her back.

“Yep, she is. Just like…”

“Like what?” Ren questions. “The memories at Top Heavy,” Vivia chuckles as she looks at Ren’s reaction.

Ren sighs, “I wanted to forget that!” Placing her hands to her butt as she shakes her head.

Vivia laughs as the two both head home, reflecting on the events that happened that day.

What a day! Wonder what the next day will bring?
