Chapter 10:

A Cat Enthusiast

My Roommate Is A Cat Enthusiast: Volume 1

The Friday of the new month has begun, where Renalia is waking up to the sunlight peering through the blinds, to then prepare for the work shift ahead.

She gets up, as the clock on cue tells her it’s 6.30am, for another great day at the bakery, anticipating a smooth and wonderful experience dealing with the local customers and the friendly staff as she works through the day.

‘Ah, what a wonderful feeling,’ Ren thinks, eating her breakfast and drinking her fresh tea, as she sits in a bright, calm but uplifting atmosphere at the dining table.

The time tells 8.25am, Ren preparing her things for work as Vivia stumbles out of the bedroom in her loosely worn bedwear, paying little attention to her as the joy of work pulls her out of the door, down the road, the bus ride to her stop, and the walk to the storefront for the day ahead.

Getting into her uniform, she manages the front desk as the few customers enter for the freshly baked bread, enjoying the interactions of the lovely people as she helpfully serves their orders, receiving grateful smiles and passing complimentary comments from them.

Her friendly staff banter with Ren, a few times during the shift, telling her how inspiring she is, including the senior ones who have worked there for many decades, seeing this passionate new co-worker bring a freshly burning love to their job. It’s infectious.

“You’re incredible Ren, especially the love you have for the job. It gives me a new found reason to get up in the morning,” a senior staff member comments to Ren passing by, as she smiles to the warm-hearted compliment, driving her passion for the day back into gear.

‘I love this,’ thinks Renalia to herself, returning to the front of the store as a few loyal customers enter for their usuals, experiencing why they have always come back to the store. Ren then deals with their orders with a sweet smile, leading them to their tables as she then serves them with a pleasurable interaction of highly praised customer service as they enjoy their food and drinks.

As the day continues, lunch passing by with the heavy traffic of people coming and going for the delicious meals offered by Sweetsarie during such hours, around 4.20pm comes a familiar face, surprising Ren as she works the front, not noticing the unexpected visitor until she appears behind her whilst carrying some empty trays.

“Hello there, cheeky,” a teasing voice says from behind.

“Uh, what? Who-,” Ren says shockingly, thinking a rude customer had startled her before she turns around to see the most unexpected person she could imagine.

It was Estie.

“Oh, Estie! You startled me,” Ren sighs with relief, before slightly complaining, “Don’t do that as I’m working… you’re not Vivia.”

“Hehe, you’re fine,” Estie jokingly says, giving her a hug as Ren places the trays down on a nearby table, “it’s been a while, y’know. Been missing my cutie-pie, after having a busy workday dealing with fashion competitors and financial investors,” sighing at the stressful nuisance of the constant business dealings and meetings as Estie lets Ren guide her to a table.

“Must have been quite the ordeal,” Ren sympathises, before Estie shrugs off the insignificant experiences by replying, “It’s okay, since I’m here to experience quite the high-standard service by yours truly,” winking with a warming smile, concluding, “especially one dressed in such a cute outfit that fits you.”

“Oh, thank you,” gratefully replies Renalia, slightly blushing at the sweet comments as Estie looks through the menu for her chosen meal.

After Estie had eaten her ordered bread meal and enjoyed the drink, she asked casually, “Say, Rennie, what time ya finishing for the day? Wanna enjoy a slow-paced walk to the station to catch up?”

Ren, as she passes the table, replies, “I’m finishing around 8, so it’s going to be a while-”

“Actually,” the manager interrupts, overhearing their conversation, with a grin of cheeky happiness, “You can leave now if you’d like,” winking before continuing, “because you have nailed today’s work and deserve an early weekend. So, get dressed and enjoy the day off,” thumbs upping her, as if he is showing off to Ren’s companion how cool he is.

“Oh, really? Is that okay?” Ren asks, her expression lighting up with joy, as the manager points her to the changing rooms to indicate a ‘yes, now get going.’

“I’ll be there in 10 minutes,” Ren states to Estie, leaving immediately to the changing rooms. Estie, as Ren disappears from sight, gives thanks for the appreciative situation as she thumbs up to the manager to show gratitude, both looking at each other with agreed happiness; Ren deserves this for working so hard.

Perfectly 10 minutes later, Ren returns in casual clothes as Estie waits by the counter, seemingly in casual conversation with the manager before indicating that she’s now going to converse with her awaited friend.

“Right, ready?” Estie asks, adjusting her purse bag over her right shoulder.

“Yes, I am,” warmly smiles Ren, following behind Estie as the two leave the store for the slow walk back.

The two begin the slow stroll to the bus station.

“So, what ya been up to?” Estie asks, nudging her shoulder into Ren’s side.

“Nothing much, but I did finally get my guitar gear set up to try out some new material,” Ren casually states, Estie reacting with genuine surprise.

“Oooooo… you play guitar? Never knew that…,” Estie replies, trying to imagine Ren playing a guitar, not just the thought of her playing on stage.

“Yeah, I mean the weeks or so have been rather crazy here and there, with Vivia getting up to her usual ridiculousness and even a day with Ammie that ended up at the gym,” briefly explained Ren, wondering what else to say.

“Ha, I know Vivia can be quite the jokester, even the real jester at times with what random shit she gets up to,” laughs Estie, reminiscing over a few interesting memories she experienced when first meeting Vivia at the content creator’s venue for streamers and video tubers.

“But I will say,” Estie continues, warmly expressing with a face of absolute confirmation, “she’s the best friend I have ever had.”

Ren looks at Estie with genuine desire for a true friendship also, thinking deeply before responding as heartfelt as possible, “I… I wish for the same thing, Estie. I truly want to be best friends with you,” smiling as happily as ever, Estie grinning with happiness soaring, placing her arm around Ren’s neck as they both laugh and banter together.

“Of course, Rennie. Having plenty of best friends… is totally okay, by my standards,” Estie states joyfully, poking Ren’s cheek with playfulness as the two continue the conversation.

Ren begins, “So, what about you? Have you been busy?”

“Okay… to be honest, been depressingly lonely. Especially not being able to hang out with you, and even Ammie and Vivia,” explains Estie, sighing at the annoyance of work, “being a fashion designer is soooooo time-consuming, it’s painful.”

“Oh… so, why do you do it if it’s this painful?” asks Ren compassionately, confused at the life choice Estie has chosen to follow.

“It’s because, it’s always been my dream,” briefly answers Estie, looking at the fashion stores as they stroll by.

“It’s been your dream to design clothing?” Ren questions, trying to understand without much information exposed.

Estie, though the conversation is heavy in topic, answers comically, “No, it’s my dream… to express my exotic body, in it’s full glory.”

“Eh?” Ren surprisingly reacts.

“I mean, the curves. The feminine charm. The sex appeal. The undeniable exoticness… of my very existence,” Estie continues, pretending to be in front of a theatre audience, posing like an actress in a Victorian dress, playing out a dramatical performance.

“Ah, I see…” Ren replies, blankly staring at this sudden randomness from Estie, wondering if this woman had been terribly influenced by her, of all things.

“Do you understand?” Estie concludes, finishing her acting with a perfectional ending of facing Ren, posing like a movie character with arms in the air, watching the leaves float off frame.

“I… wonder if the recent conversation was a major mistake,” states Ren slightly remorsefully, looking on with disappointment like she did to Vivia, wondering what sort of a crowd she has become affiliated with.

“I’m sure, you totally understand that my beauty… needs to be. Eternally showcased to the universe!” Estie proclaims, ignoring Ren’s comment.

“More like, you need to be brought back to earth! Immediately!” Renalia responds contradictory.

The two arrive eventually at the bus station, Estie hugging Ren before they depart back to their homes with a bye-bye wave, Ren sighing as she closes her apartment door behind her.

‘I wonder, if Vivia is casual today… since Estie was one hell of a drama girl with her… shameless acting as I walked home,’ Ren thought tiredly, hoping that someone could dispel the embarrassment of having such unique friends.

“Ooo, heyya Ren,” giggles Vivia, cheekily moving past Ren with a mug of tea in hand as she goes into her gaming room for a bit, anxiousness building slowly as memories flashed before Ren’s eyes.

The mall, the teasing, the cheeky comments, the ridiculous moments of public embarrassment; not again, Renalia thought to herself as the same cheeky energy re-sparked her memories of the hangout with Vivia and Estie. It’s happening again.

“Erm, Vivia… what’s up? Is something going on?” Ren asks slightly desperate as Vivia reappears from the gaming room, thinking to calm down the uneasiness that came over her.

“Hehe, not saying anything, cheeky Rennie. Got something to get ready,” Vivia responds, smirking with cheeky happiness as she washes her mug, humming to herself.

‘Okay, I might need to get some fresh air… Oh, the gym. I’ll just go there to calm down, since Ammie did send a text earlier of wanting to stop by. Right, I’ll get everything ready and head off,’ Renalia excuses, thinking that any kind of reason to get out of this atmosphere is better than sitting around as it grows in uneasiness.

“Well, I’m off to the gym Vivia. Um, see you later,” Ren quickly states, rushing to grab her clothing before leaving to let Vivia reply, which wasn’t necessary as she was in another world, with whatever has her distracted.

Making her way to the gym, Ren gets changed to her working out gear to start squats, or anything at this point to ignore the anxious thoughts of Vivia’s behaviour from before.

She begins, putting on music as the first set passes by quickly, Ammie appearing from her left after a little talk with the manager, receiving the text back from her that she would visit the gym for the day.

It was 6.13pm, and Ammie immediately noticed Ren on the mats alone, as the second set began.

“Hellooooo Ren, how ya doin?” Ammie greets, waving for Ren’s attention.

After a little bit, Ren then realises that someone; Ammie, in this case, wanted her attention for whatever reason.

“Oh, good evening Ammie,” Ren says, continuing the squats as she then wonders what Ammie wanted, “Did you want something? I got your text from earlier, so I wondered if it was something important.”

Ammie waves her hand to answer ‘no’, explaining the real reason.

“Naaa, I just wanted to do some exercisin’ with ya since Estie’s been out a lot. So, I just wanted someone to chill with, even Vivi has been busy recently,” explains Ammie, waving her phone with the text DMs between her and Vivia with little response.

“Oh, I see. That’s totally fine,” Renalia replies, gesturing for Ammie to join her.

Ammie takes the mat beside her, starting her exercise of sit ups, Ren holding her feet as she then begins to chat about something on her mind.

“So, talking about Vivia, have you noticed anything strange about her recently?” Ren questions, thoughts of her before she left still swirling around her mind.

“Hmm… no, I mean, I’ve failed to get in contact with her… so , I can’t say,” Ammie replies, continuing her sit ups, “so, why do you say she’s been acting strange? Isn’t Vivi normally a unique girl, not just her big bondonkas and all?”

“I mean, true… huh, bondonkas?” Ren says, confusion on the last comment.

“Big… titties!” Ammie explains simply, Ren realising as to what she means but with total disappointment to her so-called uniqueness being just that.

“Anyways, she was being very giddy, and it was making me feel uneasy, so I wondered if someone who knows her could put my mind at ease that it’s nothing to worry about,” Ren says, desiring some comfort to her uneasiness.

“I think, it’s best to text Estie about that,” Ammie comments, finishing the first set of sit ups, “since, that fashion drama star has known her longer than me. Especially, the two are like beans in a pod, as if they share the same brain or somethin’.”

“Ah, I see. I’ll go find out after you’re finished the next set,” smiles Ren, thinking that Ammie is probably the only ‘normal’ one out of the other two.

Ammie’s sit ups go by, Renalia grabbing her phone casually on the bench as she pulls up her DMs with Estie, asking if Vivia has contacted her about anything happening this probable weekend.

Estie replies in no time, responding that ‘No, she has not said anything. Why do you ask?’

Ren explains that Vivia was acting giddy like last time they went to the mall together, and it felt worrisome that she had something planned that was more intense than before.

Comforting Ren’s worries, Estie says that she’ll try to ask Vivia what’s up and get back to her as she can enjoy some gym time with Ammie to blow off some steam and enjoy some dinner together.

To the warm-hearted text, Ren smile emoji replies, thanking her for such thoughtful comments.

Ren, after putting her phone away, enjoys some good food at the cafeteria with Ammie, chatting about the next time Ren’s around, before completing some more exercises, including a little challenge event again that gets Ammie losing.

“Right, Rennie. If anything happens, you can come to me if things get too crazy for ya,” Ammie assures, thumbs upping Ren as she starts to make her way back home, to the end of a fulfilling day.

“Thanks Ammie, you’ve been a saviour today,” Ren warmly responds, waving bye before catching the bus back to the apartment.

‘I… so don’t want to go back inside,’ anxiously thinks Ren, questioning to open the door, that this is not a normal Vivia. But, this is just another side to her, nothing more.

“Right, I’ve got to find out what has gotten her so motivated,” says Ren reassuringly, opening up the door.

Vivia was excitedly on the dining room table, looking at her laptop with gleaming eyes, before realising that Ren had returned.

“Oh, lookie-lookie. You’re back!” Vivia says loudly, waving passionately to Ren as she walks in cautiously.

“Erm, Vivia… can I ask what has gotten you so motivated? Excited? Whatever has you so giddy?” Ren bluntly asks, wanting to just get this anxious feeling gone since it was annoying her.

“Oh-ho… So, you’ve noticed that I am rather… excited. Ehehe… rather observable, this one,” teases Vivia.

“I’m pretty sure anyone could have noticed that,” responds Ren, pointing out the obvious.

“Well, aside from that bouncy behind of yours being your obvious attraction, I have my sights on something that I won’t be revealing,” jokes Vivia, completely diverging the conversation.

“What’s my butt got to do about what’s gotten you excited?” Ren disappointingly replies, trying to get back to the importance at hand.

“Nothing for you to know about… until tomorrow comes,” Vivia states, asserting that nothing could force anything out of her.

“Now, that’s going to be keep me up all night, worrying,” complains Ren, trying to sway Vivia to change her stance.

“Come on, Thick-me-Renalie, it’s nothing to be worried about. You’ll enjoy what I have planned, I can assure you,” Vivia concludes, bouncing her chest with certainty.

“Please, don’t end the day with this bullshit!!!!!!!!!!!” Ren states, feeling totally defeated.

The two go to bed as night rolls round, both contradicting the state of mind as they lay in bed.

Vivia immediately falls asleep, wanting to have the best night for the new day ahead to enjoy it to the fullest.

On the other hand, Ren stares at Vivia’s happy, sleeping face with worry irritating her as it prevents her from falling asleep.

‘Why, Vivia, why?’ She thinks, before the fatigue of the gym and work overwhelm her anxiousness as eventually; she falls asleep despite the thoughts swirling around her head.

The day after has begun, where as usual, Ren goes through the normal wakeup schedule of seeing Vivia sleeping with a heavenly face, the covers half-off exposing her shameless bedwear of loosely worn underwear, getting dressed quietly before making her way into the kitchen for a morning meal.

A little while later, Ren is having a chill breakfast, drinking a nice cup of tea, enjoying the calmness of the moment as the soothing air sweeps across the room with a peaceful gentleness. The day before still keeps her anxious for what is going to happen today.

Clink, c-clink.

Ren places down her knife and fork, wiping the juices from her mouth with a kitchen roll tissue, sipping the last of her warm tea.

Whilst staring into space, settling into a relaxed state, the distracting noises from the bedroom forces her attention to wonder what is going on inside. She notices, coming from the room, a casually dressed Vivia in outdoors wear, appearing rather energetically excited.

Anxiety builds within herself, thinking internally, ‘Oh no. So, what’s happening today? She didn’t tell me yesterday, so what is it?’

“Du-de-du,” sings Vivia, closing the door, “Oh hey Rennie,” almost dance-walking into the bathroom.

“Erm… oh boy,” Ren comments fearfully. Something is not sounding good; mainly from her perspective, since Ren felt at that moment a sense of incoming embarrassment, as the same flashbacks of times with Vivia acting in this way only ended up in uncomfortable situations later on. ‘She’s still like yesterday…’ she monologues.

She tries to ignore Vivia’s silliness by getting ready for a workout session, warming up with stretches in the living room to get the annoying emotions out of her mind completely.

A few minutes crawl by, Ren preparing for the actual workout in her sit-up position as a presence interferes with her exercises. Vivia crouches down behind Ren, placing her hands on Ren’s shoulders, pressing her chest against Renalia’s neck.

In a teasing tone, Vivia playfully says, “Rennie…”

‘Ignore that sensation…,’ Ren tells herself, ‘Something is more important than that,’ as visuals flash in her mind of Vivia publicly teasing her.

Caught unaware, Ren reacts automatically, “Um, can I help you?”

Pressing in a little more closely, Vivia pressingly asks in a casual tone, “Wanna hang out at the Cat Café today? There’s something special happening that I don’t want to miss,” anticipating an answer.

Ren, gesturing for some space, “Heh? Well, um. First, could you get off me, please?”

Rebelliously, Vivia presses her chest harder in a cheeky, teasing manner, “Oh come on, you know you like it,” winking before Ren gradually nudges her off, “Hehe, well? What do you say?”

Ren sighs as she stares annoyingly, “I mean, sure. What time were you thinking?”

Vivia proudly smiles with a smug grin, “This early evening. It’s gonna be soooooooooo fun!”

Staring blankly, Ren lets out a bemused, “Ehhh?”

Gleefully skip-walking away, Vivia rhythm-sways her hips as Ren continues to workout before stopping for a breaktime lunch.

A peaceful lunch passes, beginning her main workout session as music sinks her into a regular routine, Vivia on the other hand, gets ready for a change of pace.

The time arrives for the two to make their way to the decided destination, and Vivia pressures Ren into changing out of her workout clothing. “C’mon Rennie. We’re gonna see a new companion that I’ve been looking forward to,” excitedly encourages Vivia, pushing Ren’s back towards the bedroom.

Ren dismissively states, “Stop pushing me! I can get ready myself…”

Vivia brushes off her comment, saying briefly, “We’ll miss the new event if you just dilly-dally.”

Caving in to pressure, Ren begrudgingly says, “Okay… Geez.”

Ke-klunk.

The door closes behind them, as the duo make their way to the center of town, chatting casually about what to expect at the café, before eventually Vivia pulls Ren’s arm in excitement as the teashop’s door grew closer into view.

‘I can hardly wait for this,’ Vivia thought to herself with impatience, Ren contrarily holding her back however, saying “Slow down…” as she tries to catch her breath.

They respectfully walk their way to their chosen seat, Vivia periodically glancing over at the event area, as the staff prepare the visitors for the mysterious new arrival to make its grand appearance.

“Ooo, I’m excited,” Vivia giggles with eager anticipation.

Ren blankly stares with shallow curiosity, “You’re always excited when it’s specifically about cats…”

Vivia turns quickly around, stating, “Well, what can I say?” She pretends to cuddle a cat by air-cuddling, “I’m soooooooooooooooo looking forward to cuddling this one to pieces. Oooooo!”

Ren disappointingly glares at Vivia, as a deep curiosity floats to the surface of her conscious, asking, “I know cats are cute and all, but… really now?”

Nodding, Vivia responds impatiently, “Hmm-hmm, I know they are. Ooo, they’re about to reveal it!” Turning round as the staff indicate that the time has come.

“Mmm…,” Ren contemplates, as she continues to look at Vivia with keen interest. ‘Vivia looks so excited to see this new cat or whatever.

Hmm…,’ Ren thinks to herself, before looking towards the staff, ‘Let’s see what is so special about this cat.’ She sighs before internally concluding, ‘Vivia really knows how to get me curious.’

Clap. Clap.

One staff member, out of the few by the revealing curtain, calls for the guests to focus their attention, “Ladies and gentlemen, the long-awaited arrival is ready for revealing. Please welcome the latest addition to the family…”

Wide-eyed and excited, Vivia clasps her hands together and gasps with an anticipating “Ooo…”

Ren internally monologues, feeling the urge to facepalm at her friend’s embarrassing childishness, ‘Calm down Vivia, this is not something to be that excited ov-’

“Buttony!” The staff member exclaims, pulling the curtain aside for the cat to emerge.

Out from the curtains, appears a super adorable black and white cat on the reveal table, overwhelming everyone with total cuteness that alters the entire atmosphere of the room from eager curiosity to a dominating awe of adorableness.

“AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! TOO CUTE!” Vivia exclaims passionately, her face lighting up with absolute happiness, sparkling eyes staring in awe at the goddess–like figure of the cat seemingly staring back at her.

“Ooooohhhh… damn! That’s cute,” Renalia comments surprisingly, feeling the cuteness sweeps across the room with overpowering force.

“I want it! I fucking want it!” Vivia avidly covets in cuteness passion, to which Renalia snaps out of the awe rebutting assertively, “Oi, we can’t keep it!”

The cat then jumps from the table as the staff continue their duties.

Buttony, as it mingles with the other cats around, eventually drifts over to Vivia who has now got down onto the floor, opening her arms up with a huge smile on her face.

Ren also crouches down with Vivia, looking on in jealously as Buttony affectionately rubs up to Vivia’s legs before it climbs into her lap, purring in a loving affectionate manner, rubbing its head against Vivia’s cheek as the paradise of its attention fills Vivia’s mind with the highest level of happiness. She’s in Heaven.

Ren suddenly feels a few more cats’ approach as they gently paw at Ren’s thighs and side, snuggling up into her thighs as they demand; in their cat-cuteish manner, to be petted and cuddled. She reacts with a wholesomely cute yet apprehensive demeanour at first, but the warmth of the cats’ innocence gradually comforts and relaxes Ren into a welcoming posture and attitude, stroking the cats thinking, ‘They’re so cute.’

One cat climbs up her chest, snuggling her face against Ren’s cheek as she reacts, “Aww, so cute,” stroking it as it purrs, “Hello. Oh, this is so adorable.”

She hears Vivia giggle loud, smiling like a child in a candy store, “This. Is. Paradise! Come ‘ere. Cuddle-cuddle,” she says chucklingly, burying her face in Buttony’s fur as another cat joins in. Vivia states shamelessly, “I want to stay here forever!”

“No, you don’t! You’ve got bills to pay,” Ren interjects immediately, stroking the cat in her lap as another one rubs against her back.

“Aaahhh… I love this,” comments Vivia, holding up Buttony before cuddling her into her chest and face. Ren disappointingly stares on before the cats grab her attention once more.

‘Ah, whatever,’ Ren thinks to herself, ‘Vivia’s in her own world, so. You two. I’ll give you the attention,’ petting the cat in her lap as it looks up to Ren as it slowly blinks before closing its eyes with acceptance as Ren continues to stroke. It loves it.

The girls enjoy the cats’ attention as the time passes by, the clock reading 5.45pm, before sitting at the table for a comfortable dinner, Ren building up the courage to ask Vivia something personal.

‘I wonder why Vivia has such a fascination with cats…,’ Ren thinks inquisitively, looking at Vivia stroking Buttony in her lap. ‘Now is definitely the time to ask, since she’s so comfortable around them,’ Ren concludes internally.

Then, feeling that the time is right, she opens up.

A short deep breath later, Ren starts, “Um, Vivia. I have a question I want to ask…”

“Cuddles, hehe,” Vivia says, before noticing Ren’s question, “Oh, sure, go ahead,” checking her phone for the time and reassuring herself that they have time to chat.

“So, erm, I want to know,” Ren looks directly into Vivia’s eyes, “why do you like cats so much? Not just because they’re cute; which is pretty obvious, but what do you precisely love about them?”

Vivia stares back at Ren before smiling with a relaxed demeanour, “Oh, it’s really simple. It’s because they’re honest to the core.”

Ren processes the answer with an unexpected shock of curiosity tempting her to find out more. She asks, “What do you mean by that?”

“Hmm…,” Vivia pauses, “Let’s say it’s because it’s quite the long story,” smiling with a layered expression.

Ren sternly stares, leaning forward with no care for time, “Oh please, do tell.”

Vivia pokes Ren’s nose, “Hey, come on now. Don’t stare at me like that; you’ll scare away the cuties.”

Blushing lightly at her own immature behaviour, she apologises, “Oh. Sorry,” relaxing her expression.

Vivia waits for Ren to relax again before she begins.

“Okay, so. Where to begin?” Vivia starts, stroking Buttony as it slightly changes its posture, “Ah, let’s just start by saying that some family acquaintances, that I met before, were… two-faced. Y’know, snake-like behaviour,” looking down at the cat in her lap to avoid getting emotional.

Slightly confused at the sudden information she was told, Ren mumbles, “Erm, heh?”

Vivia explains more simply, “Let’s say like a guy who won’t be honest to get what he wants. Unlike me, who’ll be like; I kinda wanna squish them thick thighs of yours right now.”

Stunned with a perplexed expression, Ren replies, “Heh, huh?! Oi, stop getting off topic,” blushing at the jokingly, naughty insinuation.

Vivia laughs momentarily, “Relax. Relax your cheeks. Pfft.”

Ren stares annoyingly, “Mmm!!!”

The two return back to a casual, comfortable posture before Vivia puts on a slightly more serious tone, fixating Ren’s attention. “Okay, okay,” Vivia says, sighing mildly before continuing on, “Let’s say some people would hide ulterior motives behind their upfront words. That’s a little poetic, that I could imagine you saying instead of me, haha.”

Ren nods with understanding, “Um, uh… right. Continue,” the cat getting off her lap as she drinks her hot Chocolate.

Stroking the cat on her lap, Vivia relaxes herself again before uncovering more of her reason of why she absolutely loves cats.

“Mmm… Because of that, y’know, I found that cats had a more honest and transparent behaviour that I could just trust. And also, they’re cute as hell,” Vivia smiles, Ren bluntly responding, “Uhuh. Sure…,” as she stares attentively.

Vivia continues, “Since then, I just grew to love cats more and more. Especially the ones I told you about last time we were here. Like Dave, for example,” chuckling at some memories appearing in her mind, “A goofball that really had an amusing character about him. Because of memories like that, I’ve never gone back on my total enthusiasm for cats,” Vivia warmly smiles and breathes in a sigh of relief.

Ren sits back in her chair at ease, feeling like she finally understands the answers to her curiosity.

‘Oh, now that makes a lot of sense. Now, I do understand,’ Ren thinks to herself, smiling with acceptance. “Oh, okay,” Ren concludes, sipping the last of her hot drink.

Vivia lays back in her chair before facing straight at Renalia, “Anyways, that’s over. So, want to relax a little longer?”

Ren nods, complimenting, “Sure, and thank you for telling me about your past. I really appreciate it,” cutely smiling.

Vivia blushes, smiling in return, “Oh. Erm, you’re welcome. I guess,” giggling in slight embarrassment before burying her face in the cat’s fur and letting it down after the two finish their business at the cat Café for the day.

Both girls’ banter as they make their way back home, Vivia grinning with absolute fulfilment for being in paradise for a while and Renalia smiling with satisfaction that she got closer to Vivia by understanding her as a person a little more.

When the evening rolls around, the two enjoy a wonderful sleep. Vivia sleeping with a heavenly attitude at the time spent that day and Renalia sleeping soundly and peacefully for getting to answer a few deep questions. The start of a new month has just begun.
