Chapter 76:
Spice of life [Remake]
The days and weeks flew by, and before everyone knew it, the Olympics were over.
"And I'm back with a MASSIVE appetite for crepes," Madoka declared as she entered the restaurant.
"We missed having you. So how was Rio?" Rika asked.
"Eh, it was fun. I ended up getting kidnapped everyday by various gangs and goons, but I escaped."
"You sound a little bummed."
"I mean, I didn't get a gold medal, nor did I get to see Tetsuka-Nee-chan," Madoka cried.
"Tetsuka-Nee-chan?"
"She's my other older sister though the twins loathe her very existence so she left the mansion and began traveling. OH! Speaking of which, Momma wanted you guys to cater at the mansion tomorrow."
"How large is her event?"
"She said it's fairly large, but it wouldn't require all the staff to work there."
"Sounds good. Then the catering gig is on. I'll contact your mother for more details."
...
Rika, Mimi, Matcha, and Zuina gaped as they stood before the drawbridge to the Ginkawa mansion. "M- Mansion!? THAT'S A WHOLE ISLAND CITY!" Rika shouted in shock.
The Ginkawa "Mansion" was more so a large island city situated in the Tokyo bay. The guest area Rika and co arrived at for the catering gig, felt and looked like a 5-star hotel.
"YAY! Crepe catering!" Madoka cheered as she slid down the stair rail followed shortly by Harumi.
Both were clad in formal attire as they leapt from the stair rail and landed perfectly before the group.
"Impressive," Rika clapped.
"I do that nearly every day. Now allow me to give you a tour," Harumi smiled.
...
The four struggled not to be overwhelmed as they toured the mansion. It truly was a paradise in of itself.
"Wow, this place is huge. And you say I can live here?" Mimi gasped.
"Yes, since you're a Ginakwa by blood, you'll be allowed to reside here should you choose," Harumi stated.
"Guess I'll take you up on that. This place is probably safer to live than my apartment."
"Perfect, I'll have the servants move your stuff. Oh, and I hate to spring this on you so suddenly, but we'll be formally announcing that you're from the branch family."
"No worries. Though, uh, could I check out the bowling alley afterwards?"
"Sure, feel free to spend the night too. That goes for the rest of you too."
As Mimi smiled from ear to ear, Rika and the others tried their best not to get overwhelmed as the tour continued.
...
Zuina's jaw dropped as she stared at the vast farm before her. "You fit a whole farm in here?" Zuina trembled.
"That we did. The cow's also produce the finest milk in the world. We call it Ginkawa milk," Harumi proudly smiled.
"D- Do people know about this?"
"Yes, but we don't sell any of our produce. It remains exclusive to the mansion."
"Well, that's good. I assume it's to be self sufficient?"
"Correct. Since we're one of the richest families in the world, we naturally have many enemies. Being self sufficient and growing our own produce here is one of the precautions we took to ensure our survival."
"You know the game Morioh's mask? Well these cows are just like the cows from that game. They make super milk," Madoka proudly huffed.
"Wait, didn't those cows get abducted by aliens if you didn't save them?" Rika asked.
"Oh no need to worry about that, Gnorville has been raising the cows here for nearly 20 years," Harumi smiled as an alien wearing a crescent moon hat arrived to milk the cows.
"You guys have real aliens working here?" Rika nervously asked.
"Yep. Gnorville and his team also monitor the satellites we got around earth and on the moon. Oh, Mimi, I should also mention that we managed to secure you a proper cooking license," Harumi stated as she handed Mimi a card.
"Wait, really!?" Mimi asked.
"Yes, I imagine you not having a proper cooking license would cause problems for Ryokoma later down the road. Luckily, since you've proven to me that you are a gifted patissier, I was able to use my connections to get you an official cooking license. No need to worry, you've already earned it after all the cooking you've done."
"Wow, thanks."
"It frightens me how easily the rich can do things like that," Zuina thought to herself.
...
Once the tour was over, the dinner and party went off without a hitch. Once that was over, the girls were then invited to soak in the mansion's hot springs.
"Don't worry, I made sure my perverted nephew, Yuki was securely restrained so that you can soak without worry," Harumi smiled.
The girls from Ryokoma then enjoyed a peaceful soak before getting out and being treated to a nice bottle of Ginkawa milk.
"Wow, I think I felt my boobs get bigger," Mimi blissfully gawked.
"Best milk I ever had," Rika cooed.
"Don't get used to the taste too much. We'll be back to consuming good ole regular milk by tomorrow," Zuina grumbled.
"Where'd Matcha go?"
"Saw her going to speak with Miss Ginkawa."
...
Matcha stood nervously before Harumi. "You want to ask me something?" Harumi asked as she entered the hot spring.
"When you first came to the restaurant, you were going to say something to me, but decided not to. What was it?" Matcha asked.
"I didn't want to ruin the mood by bringing it up your corrupt older sister."
"Yeah, I had a feeling that's what it was. Purin is really corrupt. Though I guess there's someone more corrupt than her considering she got reinstated AND promoted despite what she did."
"You're referring to the incident where your father, Kiji Myouchi, allegedly killed himself accidentally after getting in a scuffle with Purin, yes?"
"Correct. She definitely killed him. However, everyone ended up believing her."
"Likely because the only other witness present, verified Purin's story."
"Itsuki also mentioned she was kidnapped by a corrupt officer and her younger sister."
"Yes, I remember that press conference. I believe one of the officers involved was arrested, though sadly, the other one weaseled out of prison."
"I thought one of them died before she could be questioned."
"No, that one attempted to fake her death, but was exposed by Detective Reika Yuzume. She even drove her directly to prison, however, the higher-ups claimed her death was deliberately faked for an undercover mission, that Reika was unaware of. Naturally, it's likely that story was fabricated to save Yumeko Yamaguchi's bacon."
"I see. Thank you for at least humoring my curiosity."
...
The next day, the Ryokoma girls were driven back to the restaurant, along with Madoka, in a black sedan.
"So you like our crepes better than the ones the servants make you at the mansion?" Rika asked.
"You bet. There's just something magical about the way you make em. Even when they replicate the recipe down to the secret spice, yours always taste a little bit better," Madoka stated.
"Must be our ingredients then," Zuina proudly huffed.
"Heh, good thing everyplace we get our crepe ingredients from are 100% with us. Though I think the secret lies in the fact that it's all made in the warm, cozy restaurant known as Ryokoma," Rika grinned.
"Yeah, being there makes the crepes taste better. Even the to-go crepes I get always taste a little bit inferior to the ones I eat at the restaurant."
"Then Ryokoma magic it is," Rika smiled.
