Chapter 4:
Message
Without a second thought, I bolted to my car as if my life depended on it. I quickly got in and drove off without putting on my seat belt, not worrying about it for the time being.
After an hour of driving, I finally reached the highway, only to encounter heavy traffic. Frustrated, I vented my anger by hitting my steering wheel repeatedly.
I searched through my bag to find my phone, and I decided to call my date because I wasn't sure how long it would take me to return. The phone began ringing, and each beep made me nervous. I wanted her to pick up; no, I desperately needed her to answer.
Feeling distressed, I heard a voice on the other end of the call say, "Hello?
I searched through my bag to find my phone. I decided to call my date because I was unsure about how long it would take me to return. The phone started buzzing, and each dial tone heightened my nerves. I wanted her to pick up; no, I desperately needed her to answer.
I was feeling distressed when I heard a voice on the other end of the call saying, "hello?"
"Hey, I'm sorry I'm not there yet. I forgot to turn off my gas, so I'm heading back to take care of it before returning," I said with a hint of nervousness in my voice.
"Okay, but hurry because I don't want to wait here for no reason," she said with a touch of annoyance in her voice.
I replied with an "okay" and ended the call, but in reality, I didn't know how long it would take for me to get back with this traffic situation.
After a few minutes, the traffic started moving, and I couldn't wait to finally reach home.
When I arrived, I parked in front of a spot near my home. I was panicking at the thought of my house smelling of gas. I quickly exited the car and rushed into my house, the first thing I did was take a deep breath, hoping to detect the scent of gas.
But I didn't smell anything. (Could the gas be finished?) I walked into the kitchen, consumed by worry. As I approached the stove, I found that there was nothing wrong; the stove was off.
I let out a sigh. "Then what did his message mean?" I stayed in the kitchen, contemplating what he could have meant, but I couldn't come up with any idea of what he was talking about.
I didn't bother myself with it and got ready to leave. As I reached the door, he saw my wallet on the table nearby. It was only then that I realized I had never had my wallet on me.
"Is this what he was talking about?" I pondered. I took my wallet, and a sense of relief came over me, knowing I now had what's important for my date. I left my house, feeling happy, knowing that I would soon be heading to my date.
