Chapter 93:
Spice of life [Remake]
March 14th quickly arrived, meaning Masaru went to work making white chocolate for White day.
"We sure got a lot of chocolate a month ago," Rika mused as she cooked a butter chicken pot pie with naan crust.
"Why are you making that?" Masaru asked.
"Cause it's Pi day. Didn't I tell you before. Well anyway, I'm gonna have this sent to your sister."
"I still think she's a disgrace."
"Why do you think I'm still sending these to her. I will praise her persistence though, that dumb bitch doesn't quit. Though maybe this giant-sized chicken pot pie will do the trick."
"Rika, how are you even planning to get that out of the kitchen, let alone into an oven?"
"Oh, we renovated an area for cooking giant-sized meals."
"HUH!?"
"This means we can do wedding cakes too. The area's also small and can connect to the ground floor dining area and the cargo elevator."
"Well, at least you thought things through. Though there better not be any other surprises."
"Relax, I'm saving the theater for the one-year anniversary next month. Just consider the giant-kitchen our 2-month-late 9-month anniversary special."
"Very well. In that case, I might as well make use of it. Though I wish you had alerted me before I began making the chocolates."
...
"Take this," Eluf smirked as he tossed a box of complimentary chocolates to Mimi.
"Wait, I get free chocolates a month after Valentines too!?" Mimi asked.
"Just from the guys. Though don't go giving out chocolates to a bunch of guys next year. Helga would get mad," Eluf said as he tipped his hat and left.
"Looks like our white day chocolate bin is full too," Itsuki noted.
"Rika also mentioned that we now have a new kitchen that can cook giant sized food," Zuina noted.
"Any word on when the garden will be up?"
"The engineers were here a few weeks ago. Apparently, Rika's definition of a garden includes orchards and an entire farm."
"Like what we saw at the Ginkawa mansion?" Matcha asked.
"Exactly that. I'm not apposed to being self sufficient, but I can't manage an entire farm all by myself. Taking care of the animals is also alot of work."
"ANIMALS!?"
"Yeah, cows, goats, chickens too. They would'nt be on the menu, but the stuff they produce would be. Though this means we'd need to put grass in, not to mention the soil needed for the orchards."
"I take it she wants all this done by the one-year anniversary next month?"
"Pretty much."
"It's crazy to think it's almost been one year since this place opened."
"I get it. Even though we started working here a month after they opened, it's still hard to believe nearly a year's gone by."
"I was here a few weeks before of you got hired, then Itsuki came a week after me. Guess that means we'll all be celebrating our first year of employment here on different days," Mimi noted.
"I'm honestly more surprised we're all still working here nearly a year later. Well, it's not like it's bad here, plus we get great benefits."
...
Tears welled up in Himawari's eyes as she found herself face to face with a giant butter chicken pot pie with naan crust.
"Alot of food was used to make this, so it better not go to waste," Masaru glared.
"Ara, how nice of your brother to make you such a treat. You should ensure it is eaten," Reika chuckled.
"Why the hell did you bring a pie to the police station?" Makoto glared.
"We just figured the lovely public servants working here would like some nice pie," Rika smirked.
"So we can eat too!? I'm diggin in!" Inoka grinned as she dove headfirst at the pot pie.
"OI! Don't just eat that shit!" Purin fumed.
A crowd of officers then emerged from the station and swarmed the cake. Himawari, meanwhile passed out from shock.
