Chapter 3:

Interlude 1: Second year Class A

Reincarnated into the abandoned and forgotten goddess’s only believer

Earth, the world that a boy named Amano Kaede, now lived under the name Bell, left behind.

Several days after the entrance ceremony, the students of first-year class A were in their class waiting for the homeroom period to start.

25 students were spending their time while waiting for the homeroom teacher to arrive. Some were talking with their friends, some were playing with their phones, some were preparing their studying, some were sleeping on their desks, some were doing class duties on the lectern and one was sitting quietly, gazing outside the window.

The class door opened, stepped inside was a young beautiful girl who looked like she was 14 years old. She was short both her figure and her brown hair. She slowly walked to the lectern, put down the pile of papers and faced the students, gloom was apparent on her face.

“Good morning, everyone. I’m glad to be everyone’s homeroom teacher again. Let’s try our best this year” – She said, not so enthusiastically.

Despite looking so young compared to her age, she was Class A homeroom teacher. She taught first-year class A last year and with the students moved to second year, she would be in charge of them again this year. Having been with her for a whole year, the students of class A knew there was something strange with the way their teacher was speaking. Specifically, her expression wasn’t like her usual. Normally, she always smiled brightly and talked with an energetic voice whenever she stepped into the class. She was loved by her colleagues and students because of that, however, today, she doesn’t have the kind of energy she always shows.

“Sensei, is there something wrong?” – One student asked.

The teacher hesitated a moment before speaking…

“I’m really happy to be in charge of you again. I really hope that I can see all of your faces again, but…” – She said then looked at the vacant seat.

She was a dedicated teacher. She really loved her students, she really was…

Confused by what their teacher said, the students followed her eyes to the vacant seat at the back of the classroom near the window.

“Sensei, is there something wrong with Amano?” – Another student asked.

Yes, that seat belonged to Amano Kaede, a second-year student and their classmate. He was absent from class in the homeroom on the day of the entrance ceremony and the days after that. Everyone wondered what happened to him, but they simply thought he would be back soon.

That was supposed to be the case. Not for the accident on that day.

“I had received a call from Amano-kun’s parents on the day of the new semester. He got caught up in a bus accident on his way to school. I went to the hospital where they took him to after the bus crashed. His parents were also there and they told me that their son didn’t make it. According to the police, the accident occurred due to the carelessness of a car that went across the street, unfortunately, as a result, he and 3 other people all died” – She painfully told the students.

“Wha…!” – The students exclaimed.

They knew about the accident that occurred a few days ago. The news and media all talked about that. There were casualties, but what the students didn't expect was that their classmate was one of the casualties.

One of their classmates had died.

Unable to process the information, the classroom erupted into silence. Most of them were shocked, some were fearful, a very few of them were indifferent, and only two people in the class had a painful expression.

“No way, that can’t be true. I was with him before the ceremony, we were talking about games, our school life and a lot of stupid things” – A boy muttered agonizingly.

“….” – A girl stared quietly at her table, her face clouded.

“I’m also agonized by this. I'm sorry that I couldn't tell you sooner. I was busy dealing with the situation. But as your teacher, I want all of you will remember him as one of your dear classmates. His funeral will be held this Saturday, so I hope our class will come. ” – She continued; her expression still gloomy as she might cry any moment.

After a few minutes, when the students calmed down for a little…

“Now then, I would like to conclude the homeroom. After this, there is no period until tomorrow. Be careful on your way home, everyone” – She said.

Right after she finished her words, a huge, circular, geometric pattern enveloped the whole ground, emitting a glowing light. The teacher and students were perplexed and confused by this, a second later, they all disappeared from the classroom.
