Chapter 3:

Heroes or criminals

Villain in an upside down world

The door of the classroom creaked as it was pushed open, and Kofi strolled into the classroom. At his entrance, over a dozen heads turned in his direction.

As the old spectecled teacher inspected him with a scrutinizing gaze, Kofi forced a smile and spoke.

"Good morning sir, I hope I'm not too late?"

"Not too late? Mr Gray, Do you understand that you're over an hour late?" The teacher frowned.

Kofi laughed nervously.

"Haha... Only an hour?"

Kofi spent the rest of the English lesson standing outside the class.

After the lesson, students came pouring out of the room. Kofi tried to blend in with th rest of the students, but knew he failed when he felt someone hit the back of his head.

"Come later next time, Gray," Someone sneered from behind him.

Kofi sighed, and turned around. Standing before him was a tall fit man, with blonde stylish hair.

"I'll try that next time, Leon." Kofi said sarcastically, before he turned around to leave.

He felt a hand grab the back of his jacket.

"Did I say you can leave?" Leon demanded, before pushing Kofi back. Kofi gritted his teeth in anger, trying to control his anger. He wasn't afraid of Leon, but he knew that hitting him would lead to a world of complications. Plus, he didn't want his parents to get involved.

Kofi patiently turned to face Leon, deciding to try to stay calm.

"You've grown arrogant." Leon said, as he drew closer to Kofi. "I think I should remind you a thing or two, right?" He drew back his hand, ready to strike.

"That's enough, Leon!" A feminine voice called out. Someone appeared from the crowds and stood before Leon, glaring at him. She had silky blonde hair that reached just above her shoulders. Her eyes were blue, and held a flame of fearlessness and Brashness.

The girl then turned around, and pulled Kofi away."Let's go Kofi.".

Kofi threw a final glance at Leon, before following the girl. She walked confidently, unlike Kofi's usual timid sauntering.

"So... Remy... how's it going?" Kofi asked, breaking the silence. The girl before him was his only friend.

"Good," She answered without turning around. "Where were you?"

"Well, I kind of bumped into Ultra-Point as he was fighting a giant lizard."

Remy turned to face him, surprise and curiosity written all over her face.

"Ultra-Point? And then, what happened? Were you hurt?"

"Well, a little." Kofi answered touching his plaster. "They were far from me though, so I wasn't harmed."

Remy watched him a few seconds, before turning around.

"I see"

They continued to walk. A frown came over Kofi's face, as if he was undecided whether or not to say something.

"What do you want to say?" Remy asked, noticing his expression.

Kofi looked down, before saying.

"Remember how much I idolized superheroes? How much I loved Ultra-Point, Meteoric mage or Quantam blade? Today I have began to doubt whether they're heroes, or criminals."

"What?" Remy stopped, confusion on her face. "Why would you say that?"

Kofi looked into her eyes as he spoke his thoughts.

"Because today I saw Ultra-Point push a giant lizard into a building. The building had more then 30 floors, you can't tell me that there was not at least one person in that building? He pushed the monster there nevertheless."

"You can't be sure that there were people there." Remy argued.

"No, I can't. But my father is a cop and he's seen hundreds of people, if not, thousands, die because of these heroes lack of self-control."

"What about the millions they've saved? They can't save everyone, you know!" Remy snapped, before marching away angrily. Kofi stood there, stunned.

"Why is she so upset?" He wondered. However, he could only sigh and continue to the next lesson.
