Chapter 141:

Baby Togarashi

Spice of life [Remake]

"Rika! Do not let Togarashi eat that!" Masaru cried.

"I can cut it into mush for him," Rika grinned.

"He's an infant! He can't digest it!"

"Masaru is right. You can't turn a steak into baby food," Matcha glared.

"How about-"

"No snakes either or any meat. Sweets are off the table too. For now he can only feed on brest milk."

"Well, luckily we have a plethora of fruit both from the orchards and our suppliers. I guess this means we'll be making baby food too when he's old enough," Zuina chuckled.

"Great thinking-"

"WAAAH!"

"Guess he wants some milk. Hmm, wonder how good it tastes. Oi Masaru, try my milk and tell me how it tastes," Rika grinned as she began breastfeeding Togarashi.

"RIKA!"

"What? It's a limited time only deal and I don't mind."

"Togarashi, clean out her entire stock!"

Togarashi seemed to understand and began sucking harder.

"Oi, oi, you'll want to save some for dinner time. Well, drink up little guy," Rika laughed.

"He's really sucking. He might suck you down a cup size," Mimi shuddered.

"Guess we could try feeding him some mushed snake-"

"NO!" everyone yelled in unison.

"Funnel cake?"

"Rika, we can't feed an infant funnel cake," Masaru glared.

"Make some baby food for him then," Rika pouted.

"He can't eat solids yet, but I guess I better learn to make baby food since he will eventually be eating it. I've never cooked for a baby, though."

...

Masaru scowled as he scratched his head in frustration.

"What's wrong? You've been standing in the pantry for minutes," Zuina stated.

"I know it's not recommended that babies eat foods until they are 6 months old, however, when that time comes, who knows what Rika will try and feed Togarashi," Masaru groaned.

"So you want to make the baby food now, right?"

"Correct, but I am at a loss."

"How about we all combine our strength," Itsuki suggested.

"I guess. I am clearly not able to overcome this alone."

Itsuki smiled as the three began brainstorming. You've really grown, Masaru Ryono," she thought.

As Masaru exited the kitchen, he noticed that Azuki had stormed into the restaurant. Her hair had grown back to where it was before, and despite her stressed state, still looked just as young as before.

"About time you showed your face, Grandma. Lil Toga's been waiting to meet you," Rika glared.

Togarashi stared at Azuki before lobbing a toy at her.

"The hell!? What are you teaching him!? He's going down a dark path!" Azuki fumed.

"Be a little nicer to him, Mother. He's just an infant," Masaru glared.

"I was drilling cooking techniques into you while cooking and holding you in a harness when you were his age."

"Come on, soften up a bit. You're his only grandparent. I never really saw mine, so I want lil Toga to have a happier life than I did growing up," Rika pleaded.

Azuki sighed and sat down. "Seems it's only suffering for me. I guess taking care of a grandchild conceived by one of my worst enemies is better than suffering alone," she huffed.

"There's the tsun," Rika grinned.

"So why did it take you so long to come see us again?" Masaru asked.

"Every time I thought about the fact that you had a child with that heathen, I'd faint on the spot."

"Or you just wanted your hair to grow out so he'd remember and recognize ya when he's older," Rika jibbed.

To everyone's surprise, Azuki went red in the face.

"Huh, guess you're more tsun than I thought."

...

"He's moving around a lot more, then he was three days ago," Mimi smiled as she played with Togarashi.

"Bet he'll be flying through the air soon. He gets really excited when I hold him up," Rika smiled as she picked Togarashi up.

Togarashi responded with happy babbles as he kicked his feet around.

"See, he really is- WHOA!" Rika gasped in shock as Togarashi managed to leap into the air on his own. "Not until you're bigger, you're only 5 days old," she said as she leaped up and caught him.

"Looks like he's taking more after you," Mimi nervously chuckled.

"As long as he gets all my good points, I'm good."

...

The day finally arrived when Togarashi was given the go to try eating solid foods. Coincidentally, the day happened to fall on the restaurant's 2-year anniversary.

"What better time to let him try your cooking than our birthdays and the restaurant's 2-year anniversary," Rika grinned.

"First get him to sit still, he can't eat if he's flying around in the air," Masaru glared as he struggled to keep Togarashi from leaping around.

"Damn, he really likes sky hopping. Also got a powerful kick."

"Don't remind me. I lost years of my life when he suddenly kicked and sent me, him, and the stroller 3ft back. Rika, in your family, was it common for babies to act like this?"

"No clue. Think he's a first. But luckily he seems to ease up if ya massage his feet."

"I hope he does. I don't want him sending himself and the height chair flying.

After securing Togarashi to a height chair, Masaru went to the kitchen and returned with some baby food. "I hope you like it," he smiled as Togarashi chomped down on the spoon.

Togarashi stared at Masaru for a few seconds before reaching his hand into the jar of baby food.

"Guess it's a hit. Well now we can cook for everyone else's babies as well as our own," Rika grinned.

"He won't be a baby forever, though," Masaru stated.

"Yeah, but we'll have more babies and they'll eventually have babies of their own."

"M- More babies!?"

"Yeah, I told you I want to be able to have a family big enough to eat your Christmas feast."

"No, do not breed anymore!" Azuki moaned.

"Come on, let lil Toga have some siblings."

Togarashi seemed to agree and began clapping his little hands.

"Ugh fine, I don't care," Azuki moaned.

"Ok, tsundere," Rika grinned.
