Chapter 1:

The Beginning of Doom

The Nova Riders

A Week Before the Ruin:

The year was 2082. It was a normal day, one like any other. I had just gotten home from school and was relaxing. After stressing about the terrible day I had just had, like usual, I turned on the TV to watch my shows and help me unwind. That's when my dad came bursting into the living room and told me to put it on the news. He called my mom and sister down, and we were all watching the news. Everyone in our neighborhood was watching, as my family and I texted close friends as the commercials ran, asking if their families were watching too, which, to no surprise, everyone was. That was when the news anchor said something that I knew would change my life forever, and that things would never be the same. Reports from NASA officials stated that massive comets were vastly approaching our planet, and that there was nothing we could do. They had been tracking this comet shower for a few years now, but they assured us that it would pass by our solar system, some liars they are. Turns out the comets took another direction and were heading straight for Earth. I don't know how much time we have, everybody was freaking out.

Day 1:

My family was calm until a nation wide alert came on the screen, notifying us that 3 large asteroids were on their way to our country. My dad was terrified, and hurried us all to the basement immediately ,where we've been for the past week. The asteroids have only gotten closer, and all power has been out for a few days now. The asteroids have already hit most parts of the world, completey wiping out some continents and causing massive storms everywhere. We've been getting our updates from this battery powered radio my dad keeps in the basement, and they updates get worse and worse everyday. An estimated 2 million people are still  believed to be alive, which made made us scream bloody mary. Who would've thought that within a week, our entire population would be wiped clean? Can you believe that?

Day 2:

Well, things have only gotten worse. Some reporters have stated that the asteroid is vastly approaching the US, with the impact expected to happen in 3 days. My parents decided to ditch our "bunker" to find somewhere else safer. I don't know where they plan on taking us, since the entire country is practically doomed. We spent all day packing up, and we're leaving tonight. My mom is yelling at me to hurry up, so I guess I'll have to update you later. I hope to be able to write in this again.-Ashton
