Chapter 1:
Mystery ghost foresight [Remake]
March 12th, 2007
In a classroom at T-high school, a girl grumbled as her mind wandered while the teacher lectured. She had short silver hair, lapis lazuli colored eyes, and massive breasts. Many male students would frequently gaze her way, only to be met with angry glares. Jealous female students would shoot her menacing glares only to be met by an even more menacing glare from the girl.
"Ginkawa-san, the answer to this question?" the teacher asked.
"Who cares this shit isn't going to do shit for us once we graduate," the silver-haired girl growled.
Some students gasped while others snickered as the teacher angrily glared at the girl.
"And if you hate learning so much, then why are you here?" the teacher growled.
"4.738953," the silver haired girl smirked as she put her feet on the desk.
"GET YOUR FEET OFF THE DESK! SHOW SOME RESPECT!"
"Huh? I thought I answered your question, now piss off and let me chill."
"HALLWAY NOW!"
"And that's why this shit is useless, you say the right answer and they kill you anyway," the silver-haired girl said aloud as the teacher dragged her into the hallway.
The girl was Reiju Ginkawa. A second year high schooler that hailed from the uber wealthy Ginkawa family. However, her life growing up had been rough. Her mother had given birth to her at age 15 and died a few days later. While she was raised in the luxury of the Ginkawa family, she was treated more as an outcast. Many in the family blamed her for the cause of her mother Yukino's death. While she was allowed to live in the nice luxurious Ginkawa mansion, she was given a meager allowance and would constantly stay out at cheap hotels just to avoid going home.
Once she entered middle school, she began displaying delinquent tendencies. However, she had also developed a stunning intellect as a way to get back at her family and society. Had it not been for her grades and family influence, she would have been expelled long before she got to high school. Now approaching the end of her 1st year of highschool, she had built up a reputation as a snarky and smartass delinquent, that would frequently disrespect teachers and staff, but answer their questions perfectly and ace tests and quizzes with minimal effort. She also didn't get along well with her peers, due to beitng both smart and beautiful in a addition to her nasty attitude.
"Don't you dare use those buckets for weight training! This is a punishment!" the teacher growled as he went back into the classroom, leaving Reiju to stand in the hallway holding two buckets of water.
"What? I can't develop my strength? Developing young talent my ass. This school only cares about producing little robots, well guess that's what that shitty old man wants, a nice little robot that won't disobey him. Ugh, I hate this place and my family," Reiju grumbled.
"Disrupting class again?" a voice rang out.
Reiju turned to see 2 female members of the disciplinary committee walk by. One was average height, while the other was short enough to be mistaken for a grade schooler.
"So what are you doing patrolling the halls alone, Hoshi? I thought you had classes too" Reiju sneered.
"HEY! Don't bully me because I'm short!" the short girl shouted.
"Sorry chibi, didn't see you and I'm only 158 cm so I assumed you weren't there."
"Do not bully Chiinatsu like that. Well you're already being punished so let us be off," Hoshi growled as she and Chiinatsu walked away.
Suddenly the two slipped on a pool of water and fell down.
"Oops guess I'm so weak I let some water spill out of the heavy bucket," Reiju sneered.
Chiinatsu cried as she ended up completely soaked, while Hoshi glared at her wet right sleeve. "We're disciplining you with the paddle after school," she snarled as she and Chiinatsu walked away.
"Wow, flat out violence over spilling a little water. Plus that little koropokkuru is known for taking advantage of her size to claim people are "bullying" her and thus deserve punishment. That little bitch turns into a sadistic dominatrix as soon as she gets the paddle, considering how much pain she's given my ass, her falling on her ass in some water is nothing," Reiju ranted.
"No way, you really do look just like her," a voice rang out.
"Who the hell's there? get out before I hurl this shit at you."
"But I'm right in front of you."
"Huh? You pulling some ninja wall hiding prank?"
"No, ugh, Oh! Can you see me now?"
Suddenly, a young man with dark brown hair wearing a green shirt and glasses appeared before Reiju.
"What? So you have some high-tech camo suit? You some teacher trying to molest me or something?" Reiju grumbled.
"Huh? I'm not a teacher-"
"Stalker then?"
"NO! I literally just became a ghost today!"
"Ghost? Yeah right, that shit doesn't exist."
The man then suddenly passed through Reiju and the wall before returning. "Well?"
Reiju went pale and dropped the buckets.
"KYAAAAH!" she screamed in fear.
Naturally everyone peeked out into the hall to see what was up.
"Oi Ginkawa, what are you screaming about this time!?" a teacher snarled.
"P-Perv," Reiju trembled as she pointed at the man with glasses.
"The hell're you pointing at? There's nothing there!"
"Huh? But he's standing right there! Green shirt, glasses-"
"Cease these pranks! Get back in class and sit in the back!"
Reiju grew paler as the ghost smirked. "No way, ghosts aren't real, but I can clearly see him. Then why couldn't anyone else? It couldn't be something that I could only see from where I was standing, plus I felt a cold presence when he passed through me. Ugh!" Reiju anguished in her mind.
As Reiju went back to class, the ghost suddenly saw a vision in his mind. "Could this be what Muramasa Jouzu mentioned about foresight? I have to let that girl know!" the ghost thought as he flew into the classroom towards Reiju.
"Huh? Why the hell is he here?" Reiju thought as the ghost sat at the empty desk next to her and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen.
The ghost then wrote something down before handing the paper to Reiju. To her shock, she could physically touch the paper, though what shocked her more was what was written. "'Outside, old school building, a girl will be strangled before being made to look like she hung herself with rope. The culprit will do this because the girl spotted them doing something wrong. The crime will occur in 5 minutes.' The hell is this freaky note for? True, there is an old school building outside, but I don't see anything going on. Seriously though, what's with this paper? I can touch it, but I can't rip it or crumple it, nor does it seem to give me paper cuts. Ugh," Reiju groaned.
"Hmm? Why's she just staring at the paper? Maybe she's an idiot. Oh right, I should explain what all this is," the ghost thought as he wrote another note and passed it to Reiju.
"'Sorry for not telling you how all this works. My name is Shiruka, perhaps you've heard of me through my works, Six chances at Love, Grouping of ghosts, One letter, Four very bloody sentences, and my shitty TV drama Yowie Hunt to name a few.' Great so this is just- Wait, Shiruka? Wasn't that the guy who murdered a news anchor before killing himself 7 years ago? I don't really remember the guy's face, but I know my aunt's been babbling on about how some conspiracy theorist claims he was actually murdered," Reiju thought as she continued reading. 'Regarding the first note, apparently I am a ghost with perks and have been granted the ability to foresee crimes that will occur. I was also told that you would assist in solving these crimes.' The hell is this? This has gotta be some elaborate prank by those asses in the science department. I bet they're still pissed that I topped them all on the exams," Reiju grumbled.
"No! I'm really a ghost! ...! Look outside hurry!" Shiruka shouted.
Reiju turned to the window and gazed outside. To her horror a female student was dropped out of the second story window of the old school building with a noose around her neck. "SHIT! SOMEONE'S GETTING MURDERED!"
Everyone naturally looked over to see what Reiju was screaming about and quickly noticed the hanging girl, resulting in the classroom descending into chaos.
Everyone! do not crowd by the window! Remain seated and do NOT leave the classroom!" the teacher ordered as everyone immediately ran out of the classroom.
