"The Great Shiny Escape"

As they approached the Tunnel Wrecker, Alex's heart raced like a caffeinated rabbit. "You know, Mortimer," he said, a lightbulb going off in his mind, "what if we use the pendant as a distraction? We could toss it away and make a quick escape while it's busy investigating! Kind of like a shiny lure, but for a glorified badger!"

Mortimer raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued but also nervous. "That could work, but we need to be quick about it. If it catches on to our plan, we might be in serious trouble—like, 'end up as a worm snack' kind of trouble."

"Exactly! Here's the plan," Alex said, feeling a surge of confidence. "We toss the pendant a few feet away, and while it's distracted, we make a break for it. I mean, who wouldn't be sidetracked by a shiny object? We can always come back for a better approach later—assuming we survive this encounter!"

"Alright, I'm in," Mortimer agreed, glancing at the Tunnel Wrecker, which was still watching them with keen interest, its eyes narrowing like it was trying to decipher a particularly confusing riddle. "Just make sure to aim well. We don't want to throw it in the wrong direction! Last thing we need is to give it a shiny buffet instead of a distraction!"
