A Lazy Past

Lian Qing sat by the campfire, lost in thought. He couldn't shake the feeling that there was something missing from his memories. It was as if a piece of his past had been erased.

Determined to uncover the truth, Lian Qing decided to ask Elder Bai, one of the few surviving elders of the Azure Peak Sect. Elder Bai was a wise and experienced man, and he might be able to shed some light on Lian Qing's past.

The next day, Lian Qing sought out Elder Bai. The old man was sitting in the shade of a large oak tree, his eyes closed in meditation. Lian Qing approached him cautiously, not wanting to disturb him.

"Elder Bai," Lian Qing said softly, "I have a question."

The elder opened his eyes and regarded Lian Qing with a knowing smile. "What is it, young one?"

Lian Qing hesitated for a moment, then blurted out, "Do you remember anything about my past? Before I was injured?"

Elder Bai's expression softened. "Of course, I remember you, Lian Qing. You were a bright and promising disciple."

Lian Qing's eyes widened. "Really? I don't remember much about my time here."

Elder Bai chuckled. "That's not surprising. You were quite the lazybones back then."

Lian Qing's face flushed. "Lazy? Me?"

Elder Bai nodded. "You were always finding excuses to avoid your training. You'd rather spend your days fishing or napping than practicing your martial arts."

Lian Qing couldn't help but smile. He had forgotten how much time he used to waste. "I guess I wasn't the most dedicated disciple."

Elder Bai laughed. "That's an understatement. You were notorious for your laziness. The other disciples used to tease you about it."

Lian Qing chuckled, a little embarrassed. "I suppose I deserved it."

Elder Bai patted Lian Qing on the shoulder. "But you know what? Sometimes, the laziest people can surprise you. You may not have been the most diligent student, but you had a natural talent for cultivation. You just needed a little push."

Lian Qing nodded. "I guess you're right. I'm glad I finally got my act together."

As Lian Qing and Elder Bai continued to talk, Lian Qing began to feel a sense of peace. He had finally started to remember his past, and it was not as bad as he had feared. In fact, it was quite funny.
