Chapter 3:
Legend of Ionr
A year had passed since the noble entourage came to the village. This year had been a difficult one for Juna kingdom. The Muyn Horde led an attack on the capital, despite the kingdom having maintained friendly relations with them for years. However, two months earlier, the kingdom’s new king, Galagha, son of the previous king Redmund, had ascended to the throne. Unlike his father, Galagha was somewhat foolish, and he somehow managed to undo all the positive relations the kingdom had built with the Muyn Horde. Since Yunt was on the road to Limia, the capital of the kingdom, many residents decided to prepare for migration, including Cint's family. Almost all the villagers chose to move to Limia, the capital of the kingdom, where at least the walls would offer them protection. After a restless night, it was still early, the sun hadn’t even risen yet. But all the villagers, including Cint's family, began their journey. More people were heading to the capital from other villages, and the royal road was crowded with villagers, horses, and carriages carrying various belongings. Cint walked beside his father and mother, a small bag slung over his shoulder, holding what few possessions he could carry. Cint walked along the dusty road, the weight of his bundle feeling heavier with every step. His mother walked beside him, while his father spoke with the other villagers from Yunt and other villages, The air was tense. The road to Limia was long, and the journey took several days. They slept in the open fields or beneath the cover of trees. As the days passed, more and more refugees joined them—families from nearby villages, merchants fleeing with their carts, all hoping the capital’s walls would offer them protection.
By the third day, the landscape began to change. the hills and mountains of the north started to change to the plains of the south in the distance, the towering walls of Limia finally came into view. The sight of the city’s imposing walls was a reminder of the danger they faced against any intruder. As the large crowd approached, a guard started shouting to announce something:
"Every refugee will be accepted at two gates at the entrance. Form a line!"
As soon as the guard said that, the crowd quickly adjusted and formed a line in just an hour. The line moved smoothly, Soon, it was Cint and his family’s turn. The guard checking the refugees asked them a few questions and then approved them. As soon as they entered, Cint was amazed. He had never seen such large buildings and wide streets before. But there was still one issue: they had barely any money. Cint’s father only knew how to farm, and his mother only knew how to sew. They needed to find a way to earn money. They walked around the town and found a refugee camp with a decent place to stay. As night crept in, the moon shine brightly. After everyone had fallen asleep, Cint couldn't sleep and decided to find a way up to the tower walls. After searching for about an hour, he finally made it and watched the beautiful full moon. As time passed, he started to feel sleepy and returned to the camp to sleep.
