Chapter 89:
Lucky Draw [100 word stories]
Martin McMillan had gone out to sea. He was a fisherman by trade and before he went, he always bid his wife and dog goodbye. Every day during his absence, his dog would run to the beach to wistfully watch for his return. This time, however, Martin did not.
Bobby kept pacing on the beach long after the family had lost hope. One day, Bobby did not walk to his usual spot but instead lay at the foot of the mock grave Martha had set up in the backyard. The next day, Martin’s body was found.
He had returned home.
