Chapter 0:
Healer Of The Crevice
It was the year 2030, the year of the calamity.
It was the time human beings gracefully avoided getting hit by the massive astroid, KbS41-C, over thirty kilometres in diameter. It was heading straight towards their planet, Earth. But how did humanity survive that unavoidable catastrophe? Questions may arise.
Its answers lie in the history books too. The year 2025 marked a significant shift in the power dynamics and Ai revolution took place, where humans along with Artificial Intelligence teamed up to form unimaginable powers that could not have existed before. They made ground-breaking discoveries in science, like atmospheric heaters, astroid orbit-changers, reliable rockets to go to mars and a lot others that have been lost in time.
The amount of projects ranged so much that their total costing would easily bankrupt the top ten richest man at that time dry. Therefore, much of those projects became everyday use without funding and proper testing. But at that time it showed no apparent problems. Until that lack of fundings questioned humanities' demise.
All of humanity closely watched through the hologram display all over the world in unison as the International Space Organisation To Protect Earth (ISOTOPE) was planning on use its first astroid orbit-changers, AOC-00 to change the trajectory of the astroid who seemingly had the mark of the end of the planet.
But humanity avoided the biggest catastrophe that day, the astroid KbS41-C's orbit was successfully changed and it moved away, removing the thought of "Today might be the last day" from the people. They went down again in their normal lives, without a care for the aftermath.
The ISOTOPE headquarters was already celebrating their successful launch and changing the course of the astroid, happy that they have saved the planet from extinction. But what they didn't know was that astroid came to their direction with an intention only to destroy their homeland.
KbS41-C changed its orbit, but now it had other plans for itself. He is going after the moon as humanity celebrates their victory. Before the ISOTOPE headquarters realised, the damage has already been done...
In just a second, the precious moon, the moon romanticised by many writers, poets, the source of nightlight, the horror, the mark of beauty for centuries was reduced to bits and pieces, along with that astroid. The smaller pieces of the moon could not withstand the Earth's gravity, as those fell down on the Earth surface. The incident, commonly known as "The Earth's Last Moon Shower" or TELMS.
In just hours, calamity broke down. The radiation levels increased, the sea became aggressive, and half of the earth was down in ashes. Most of the people had died, they they have estimated that those who survived would most likely die too. They seemed to have no hope. It was the humanities demise. It was ISOTOPE's ultimate failure, a failure that would have set a bad name for them forever.
Until...
Seeing this as the last thing they can do at this moment, ISOTOPE changed its position from defending the human species to making the human species survive, launching the rocket "Hope 001" to Mars, the most habitable planet next to Earth in the solar system, with two humans, one male and one female.
Before this time humanity had already sent a few rovers and satellites to Mars, as well as Atmospheric heaters to increase the temperature of Mars. They had also set up some "Living Stations" to survive if a catastrophe like TELMS appear.
Mark and Angelina, the two humans, the first ancestors of the species "Homo martians" were the first to live in Mars while watching their blue planet get the same appearance as Venus. They watched together as the death count go up until there were not a single people alive in that planet. All the cries, all the happy faces, tears, joys of humanity calmed down. It was only them in the universe who could save humanity from the ultimate extinction.
They had four children in their lifetime in Mars. Those children were Angela, Catharine, Ash and Hue. The progenies of Angela, Catharine and Hue survived the harsh Martian atmosphere, adapting their bodies of the radiation and the rust-rich soil of the planet. Their children later developed into Homo martians, developing orange-rusty skin and iron-hard body structure, but during that process, they lost something very precious.
They lost all their emotions. Mostly, and emotion called love...
