Entering The Depths

Everyone got out of the rooms holding their weapons already. Marin had a pair of pistols, they have two rectangles more at the side of the barrel. Nazu had a big katana, a Nodachi with white and blue grip, Ry had a rectangular shield that was just covering his forearm. Sakura had a retractable blade, of the size of her forearm, having it attached to hers. Amano has a long sword with a rectangular edge. Midori had shotgun, one with three barrels, and Yazu a staff, Yazu’s staff had four colors, gray on the tip of both sides of the staff with a triangle pattern, after that a white color in the second part of the staff until it hit the black part on the rest, and just in the middle it had a golden part.

—You all look great..., alright everyone, good luck, take the elevator to the lowest plant and a man should guide you for where to go, for this mission I will be your navigator, just so you understand more how all of this works. Ready?

—Yes! —shouted everyone.

The squad entered the elevator and Ryu pushed the bottom of the lowest number, 530. The atmosphere was awkward. Everyone was just waiting for the elevator to reach the level and the only thing that was making a sound was the speaker with some music.

—You better communicate with yourselves more! —the speaker was loud all of a sudden, it was the chief.

—Tch… this guy —Sakura said.

—Well it’s not bad if we know each other a bit, after all we are in the same squad —said Yasu.

—Some of us didn’t want to be together from the start, don’t push us —said Amano

—Of what can we talk about anyway? We only need communication in battle, not knowing our favorite color —said Nazu.

Marin, Amano, and Ryu kept their mouths shut and the speaker was making a sound after a few minutes.

—That’s not bad, c’mon everybody, your favorite color, mine is golden —said Kaminari.

—Kinda obvious…, mine is gray —said Yasu.

—Mine is brown —said Ryu.

—Are we really doing this? —said Sakura.

—Blue —said Midori.

—Huh… I guess we do… red —said Sakura.

—Orange… —said Amano.

—Pink —said Nazu.

—Purple —said Marin.

The wait was over, the elevator opened its doors and everyone walked towards a man in a white suit and a mask covering his head. The place had the same structure as the main lobby, everything was made of steel but instead of having only the lights of the computer and electronics, this one was more bright with blue points on the walls.

—Follow me everyone… Ah! First, you should put your helmets on first.

—How do we do that? —said Ryu.

—Press the button that’s here —the guy pointed out a part down the neck.

Everyone pushed the button and a helmet started to arm by itself covering the heads of the squad. An interface started to load on the visor, giving a lot of information. From the outside their faces were gone, only a circle made by other circles was moving like an eye with the color they said before. But inside they look everything just right.

The helmet provided a lot of information such as temperature, status of the body, a mini map, and equipment status, when they look at their weapons or equipment they could zoom on it too, and apart from that having info on the status of theirs. There were probably more options but that was the only ones showing for now, it was like the watch but with extra stuff.

The face of the chief was shown in front of the team on a little square, all pressed a green button and the voice of the chief was able to communicate with them.

—Do you hear me?

—Yes —said everyone.

—Good, now you can proceed.

The man took us to a miner car, and everyone got in, the guy started the travel and the steel looking place was getting more and more dirty as we were going down until it the steel was completely gone, leaving just a rock looking place with only the lights on the top and the lights from the walls change from blue to green ones.

The team finally arrived at the floor 1043, it was marked on the visor, everyone got his weapons out at the same time they got themselves out of the mine car

—I will be here until you finish your business —the man talked and sat down.

The seven started to walk, nobody was taking the lead, and nobody wanted to take it. The lights from the flashlights were great having them allied, they were a great plus for the one on top. On the visor it could be seen how they were moving forward, passing from each section until they hit the one they needed to reach, section E.

The chief didn’t speak a word, he was being quiet even though in the visor’s monitor it could be seen how the voice call was still going. The map ends, but not the track.

—The trackers are in the hidden pockets of your suit on both sides of your wrist, take action.

—Understood —said everyone.

As the team were walking into the section, some of them were illuminating the scene with their flashlights watching the backs of the ones that were taking out of the pockets a square like things on the walls, like a rectangular spider, the pockets of the suit were like a belt with cases that can be extended and put it back in place with no problem.

Once the trackers were placed, they got stuck on the wall and in the center they had a circle glowing in red, but that was just for a few seconds, once the glow stopped it would transform into a perpetual green color.

—The trackers are set—said Amano.

After the circle in the trackers were green the map on the visor started to build on the zone that was black before.

—The trackers are connected with the main building, keep going —said Kaminari on the voice call.

As they continue, Amano was kicking little rocks as he was walking, they made an echo on the place until one kick didn’t make the rock bounce on the ground, just after a few second it made a little sound but very far apart, they approach the site where the rock was supposed to fall but there was none, instead they were welcome by a giant hole that eat the light of the flashlights since the end of it wasn’t able to see.

—Seems you reach a shortcut to a lower level, explore the rest of the area and leave trackers, ones you do it you can come back to the sector A. Made sure to use the harness option on your suits and be attached to one of your mates belt, retract all the pocket and made sure to hold it and put it on the ground in case of a potential fall, and finally mark on the map that you found a shortcut, another team will take care of what’s inside.

—Yes, sir! —everyone shouted.

—It would be the best if you and I go, Nazu.

—Yeah, I think the same, Amano might weigh a bit more than us, Ryu, Midori, please take care of the hold.

—Understood —said Ryu.

—Alright —said Midori.

Sakura and Nazu made their suits have a ring in the middle of their back, Ryu and Midori removed their pockets to make a belt and a ring was made on the top of it, ones they connected the belts, a tape was being left, Ryu and Midori made the tail of the belt have a pointy end and they nailed on the ground, Sakura and Amano were placing the trackers on the area in form of a circle while Midori and Ryu were holding the belts on the ground even though they already nailed them on the ground.

The rest of the team were given information on the map of where they found the shortcut, once Sakura and Yazu finished with their task they returned safely with the rest of the team, having the rings removed, making their suits hide the ring and Ryu and Midori put on their belts again.

—Good job, everyone —said Kaminari with a happy tone.

Sakura and Yazu nod to each other and then to Midori and Ryu.

They were moving towards sector A, and still no word was spoken, once they were on sector A, they saw how another miner car was arriving with another team of the squad they previously saw before getting down themselves, they were going to probably search in the deep of the shortcut they found before.

Kaminari started talking on the voice call.

—Alright, it seems that the 101st squad already went to the pit you found, very good job, everyone, your next area is two floors below, floor 1045, sector D.

Everyone nodded and got up in the miner cars, the next mission was already established
