Haditis

—Hi everyone, this should take less than before so hold on tight.

It was time to take the mine car again, only two floors below us. They got down from the miner's car and saw the map on the visor, walking towards the next sector.

As they were walking, moving around sector B when they started to hear a sound. A red point appeared on everyone’s visor, they got their weapons ready and waited for instructions.

—One anomaly ahead, be careful, although we don’t know if it’s really just one —said Kaminari.

It was getting closer as the seconds passed, the floor started to tremble and a giant foot was seen, it was hairless, just skin but the feet were not human, it didn’t have any toes on it, the next thing was a jaw, and then, teeth, sharp looking and with a clicking noise.

The rest of the body came out and stopped looking at the team. It didn’t have arms but it had two eyes like antennas, it was like seeing just the teeth of a shark with legs and eyes like a snail, and it had something like a stomach or a dark brown bag behind him.

The teeth looking creature was watching the team calmly and then roared at them, it started to run in zigzag making the floor tremble, Ryu was the first one taking a step ahead, he deployed his shield making it big enough to cover him and hit the creature, the creature weep and started to run in circles, trying to make the team loss balance or confused them

—That’s a Haditi, their teeth are really strong. Try to hit whatever part of his body that it’s not his teeth and then cut his stomach, that way you can take it down.

It was the time for Nazu and Amano, both of them having long weapons to approach the creature and with Yasu on the back, it would be easy for it to escape, Nazu swing first, the teeth was dancing, like if it was making fun of them, the next one to swing was Amano, but both of them weren’t able to hit them, the creature stop, he started clicking his teeth again and started to shake itself, that was when Ryu came and put his shield in front of Amano and Nazu.

The creature, throw something like vomit, it smelled awful and when it dropped in the floor, it sounded like if it was melting.

—Acid… —said Ryu.

The creature started to shake again and Yasu was about to hit it when it turned around, and just before the creature could open its mouth, Sakura went ahead and surprise the Haditi, doing a quick swing in his stomach, the creature started to whine again and fell of in the ground as his belly were leaving a green liquid out of it.

—Amano, Nazu, take a step back —said Ryu —. You two, pass me from the sides, careful…

Both of them listen to Ryu and when they did, he started walking ahead passing Sakura and Yasu, both them put them apart by themselves too, and when Ryu had everyone behind, he hit the air with his shield and let all the liquid hit the walls of the next sector making his shield clean again and retracting it at how it was before.

—Great work, squad 432nd, sorry, we didn’t know the Haditi could do that, it was the first time seeing it act that way, please cut his teeth, that’s the only valuable thing it has, his meat is not edible and the liquid that they secrete is toxic, you should be fine by now since is cold.

Amano continued pointing out and from the forearm, a laser was being shot, Amano had an impressive pulse, he was cutting the teeth at a fast speed and the others just looked at the map looking at Amano's back.

—Sector D, I hope you don’t encounter more creatures, but be prepared for the worst, that Haditi it’s not good news.

The squad started walking forward, the instructions were clear, continue eliminating anomalies, collect them and draw the unknown zone with the trackers, for now there weren't any foes to deal with, just rocks, a bunch of them, until they hit the zone that arrived at sector D.

As they were entering unknown territory, they were placing trackers every 10 meters they advanced, nobody was speaking as expected, they were all really quiet, just focusing on doing their job.

As they continue walking they reach an enormous area with a lot of holes on it, that was it, a giant and flat floor of dirt with tons of holes on it, Ryu was about to take a step ahead but Midori stopped him.

—This must be their nest…

—Correct —said Kaminari —this area, mark it as dangerous, we will send a team to seal the entrance, for the number of holes they may be a lot, one does not represent a problem for a numerous team as yourselves but if the number of holes is equals of the foes… I’m afraid you will have a problem, come back.

They started to run back to the sectors, but they had a plan, a horde of Haditis were running like crazy chasing them, making an earthquake, everyone had a nervous smile on their faces, they were ready to take action, the Haditis started to jump on the walls and one jump across the entire team, but Nazu reach it with his Nodachi, hit in it in its stomach without looking back, another Haditi was approaching and Nazu open the handle from the bottom and the blade retracted to the bottom, making a twin blade and hitting the Haditi ones Nazu dodge it in their weak spot.

Ryu took his shield out of his forearm and saw the walls to then throw the shield on a circular form, hitting tons of Haditis and making them fall on the ground and whine. The shield was flying and Ryu jumped to catch it and was preparing to throw it again.

As for Marin, she stopped and looked at the entire horde of Haditis and opened one of the boxes at the side of the barrels and hit them to each other, making smoke be fired in front. A lot of them were squirming on the ground but they were still chasing them. Marin started to run again and shoot the eyes of the Haditis that were chasing the squad.

There were less Haditis but there were still a lot to fighting them without risk, one of the Haditis jump near Amano, he hit it with his sword but the Haditi bite the sword, Amano hold tight his sword, running backwards, and started spinning his sword, and then hit the Haditi on the ground, ripping him from the inside of its mouth.

Midori held his shotgun and pushed a button, and when a Haditi was about to jump, he shot his shotgun this time with the two barrels, the Haditi was flying and hit another, making it tripped.

Sakura was waiting for his opportunity, and when it arrived, a Haditi was already in front of them, running a few meters ahead while it was shaking. She aimed with her forearm and shot the blade making the Haditi shriek and after it she recharged her weapon with another blade.

There was now about ten Haditis to fight, everyone stopped and started to run towards them, now it was the counterstrike
