Chapter 99:

The classic introduction.

The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter

Ayane felt like home, sitting at the dinner table with three positive-beaming people around her. They were laughing, smiling, talking and having fun, without leaving Ayane behind. She felt like she was not an outsider, but someone who is actually loved by others. Her uniform was clean and dry too. It was ready for a second day.

"Are we going to have a free day today?", Ayane queried Kanako as they were approaching Sayaka's car.

Kanako took a head start and opened the door. "Maybe. Miko-chan said that she did complete the script. It all depends on the homeroom teacher."

"Oh, thank you-", Ayane blushed at the simple gesture of Kanako. He really is a gentleman.

As she got in, Kanako closed the door and approached the other side, getting in. Her sister was already somehow sitting there, waiting. It amused Kanako a little.

"Form when did you come here."

"A lot early than you guys. Look at the time!"

"We have time."

"Just because we have a car doesn't mean you can go to school the right time."

Kanako looked at her sister carefully. She was wearing sunglasses, a cap and a mask, completely hiding her face from the public. He was disappointed.

"Eh... whats that getup..."

"This is normal.", Sayaka argued. "Your Ayane-chan also used this kind of getup to go places. Its always works somehow if you are careful enough.

Kanako looked at Ayane. She nodded in agreement.

"It looks like you are going to be sweating heavily inside."

"We do though. Its just a fair exchange.", Ayane said.

"Is that so?", Kanako leaned back and looked outside, placing his hand on the side and leaning his face. The sun shone at his face, as he looked at the calm sea and the few ships that were roaming there. In front of it was the bay and the big grassy fields, with morning breezes that flew over it. There was the rusted metal bridge too a bit far away, but still noticeable for its unique design and red colour.

Ayane stared at him in amazement. He looked so dazzling that it was magnetic. Though she knew she could get caught, she couldn't look away.

When Kanako made eye contact with her, she looked away at the distance herself, trying to look normal. The concrete bridge was on her side of the view. She could see a part of the mainland from there. It looked suffocating compared to their home.

"I am gonna speed up a bit, hold on tight, will ya?", Sayaka exclaimed as she hit the gas.

They reached the school faster than he anticipated. But speeding sure does cost a lot of gas. With the current gas prices, her sister's car isn't a good fit for speeding.

"What are you insulting my favourite car??"

"Nope", Kanako averted his eyes from her as he pulled the handle from the inside and unlocked the car. "But you should have a second car."

Ayane forgot to get out herself, trying to read Sayaka's expression while sitting behind the car.

"...I won't.", she murmured. "It's my dad's car..."

Her expression looked painful.

Ayane felt the sudden jerk from her side of the door opening up. Kanako held open the door, awaiting Ayane to come out. He averted his eyes again, but from embarrassment this time.

"...Thank you."

The cool of the A/C inside and the heat from the outside created an unusual sensation when she got out. Kanako peeked inside the car. "Are you going to keep sitting there? Or do I have to open the door for you too?"

Sayaka smiled. "I am a model. You should actually do that." She seemed to have returned to her usual mood.

"No thanks. Let's go, Ayane-chan.", Kanako closed the door and took Ayane along inside the school.

"What wait!!", Sayaka hurriedly opened the car door and followed them.

As they were walking, Ayane tapped Kanako's shoulder. "Can you lend me an ear?"

Kanako leaned over so that she can reach his ear.

"This is something personal to you, would you mind?"

"I know you don't mean any harm, so no."

"You said that your... dad, died in a car accident when a metal beam fell over his car..."

"That's right."

"But previously, senpai murmured that it was your dad's car."

"Its just her with her delusions."

Ayane looked confused.

"That car was kept in our garage for a long time. Mom just couldn't throw it out. And when sis grew old enough to drive, she bought a second hand, old but the exact model of father's car and replaced the parts that were good enough to use."

"I see..."

Sayaka caught up to them. "Where are we heading?"

"To the auditorium. Today's their free class."

Sayaka looked at Ayane "Good for you having free classes. We didn't get those during our times."

Sayaka also noticed something. "Wait you are in a different class, why the heck are you coming with us?"

"It's my school, I want to stroll around. Any problem?"

They entered into the school building and the massive shoe lockers were greeting them. Ayane and Kanako went their own ways as their lockers were far away.

"I wonder what the story that I will be playing will be like...", Ayane thought to herself, putting the shoe inside and wearing the one inside the locker, she jumped a little as she saw Sayaka looking quite closely at her face.

"No confession letters huh...", Sayaka was thinking deeply, "With your cuteness, you deserve one everyday."

"Stop it."

They again reunited while going to the auditorium.

"Are you really going to skip classes?", Sayaka asked him again.

Kanako looked disappointed, looking at her. "You think?"

"Then why are you following us to the auditorium??"

Kanako smacked the back of his sister's head lightly. "Seems like you forgot the structure of your own freking school!"

"Ehh?!?", Ayane looked at Sayaka, startled. "You came to the same school?"

"Yes I did. And... I actually forgot the structure.", she cried for help. "Ayane-chan... please take me there..."

Kanako sighed. "The boys' staircase is this way. I will be going now."

The surroundings looked awfully calm. There were students around, but their face looked concerned, concerned for the new intimidating face that they couldn't see. They avoided her as if she were a creep. Which was probably good for her, as she wanted that.

Ayane bade him goodbye as he went up, before heading to the auditorium with this "mysterious person."

"Yah hello!", Miko slapped Ayane at her back from behind.

Ayane was surprised. Who could have done that? "Oh its you... hello Miko-chan!"

"Hello!", Miko exclaimed, before she saw that person. She leaned over Ayane's shoulder. "Who is this woman with you? Do you know her?"

Ayane looked at Miko. She looked like she had arrived early today. Her eyes was blackened, probably because of overwork. She really shouldn't force herself like that. "Just wait. You will most definitely be shocked."

"Soo she is coming to the auditorium with us?"

"Yes."

"Okay...", her voice gave a hint of concern.

The auditorium was just infront of them, with the glass door closed. The students of their class were arranging different stuffs, cleaning and chatting away.

The mysterious woman suddenly started to walk faster and faster as she went close to the auditorium. As if, she was suddenly attracted to it. I mean, for a model, it might be true, seeing how she works on stages all the time.

"You know, I love the entertainment industry. Its soo fun!", the memories were blurry, but she could remember Sayaka telling her that when she was sitting on her lap, listening to stories Sayaka told.

Ayane smiled and covered her face.

Miko leaned over. "You look awfully happy, aren't you?"
