Chapter 3:

sweet revenge II

Synthetic Love

"I-I don't understand" Annie was taken aback, her eyes wide in shock

"I guess Camela was able to navigate the stage, avoiding the traps effortlessly" I said as I rolled my eyes

"How did she figure it out? I made sure it was well-hidden...and yet, she's walking on stage without stepping on any of my..."annie protested

"Hey, don't worry, it’s okay your trap didn't work. Appreciate your effort and the thought you put into it" I couldn't help but chuckle. mocking her

Her idea is pretty childish and stupid anyways

"It was a good show" I told Annie, gently patting her head. She pouted, seemingly unsatisfied.

Her pouting face was adorably cute as I stood up from my seat

Turning to Annie, I suggested, "I'm going to go along with the reporter and take the pictures, but it's too crowded downstairs. Is it okay for you stay here and wait for me? I’ll come back as soon as possible” I said waiving my phone

Annie nodded

I was finally able to get to the way when I passed a girl heading towards the opposite direction, muttering words that sent chills down my spine.

"Just you wait, Camela. Just you wait" she said, her voice laced with resentment.

I turned around, but she was nowhere to be seen, as if she magically vanished into thin air

"What's her deal? “I thought and just shrugged

I thought of a way to move closer and get a better shot of Camela, to appease the reporter and take the picture.

As soon as the curtains closed, Reporters flocked to the stage, trying to get Camela's attention

"What can you say about the play?” She paused for a moment before answering

"I'm honored and humbled to have been given this opportunity to portray such a complex character" she replied, her voice a perfect blend of humility and confidence

“What can you say about the self-driving cars your grandfather had launch? “One reporter asked

"I believe the launch of self-driving cars is a remarkable idea. It holds immense potential to benefit humanity in many ways.”

"Are you only voicing this opinion because of your grandfather's wish for you to inherit the multi-billion-dollar company? “

“And what's with your sudden reappearance in the showbiz industry after being absent for years? Is it connected to your family's company?"

I keep quiet hoping camela won't recognize me as record everything with my phone

"Oh, you flatter me. I am simply expressing my genuine belief in the potential benefits of autonomous vehicles. As for my sudden return to the showbiz industry, it is a personal decision, and my family's company has no bearing on that. I appreciate your interest, though" Camela politely replied

Suddenly, an explosion rocked the theater, followed by a rapid spread of flames throughout the entire building.

I felt panicked as went back to our seats where I saw Annie looking so confused.

"Annie, let's get out of here!" I called out, holding her hand tightly in the crowded area

As we tried to hold onto each other in the panic, our hands slipped causing us to lose our grip on each other.

I could feel the heat of the flames, the air clouded with smoke.

“Gerald! Gerald! “I heard Annie calling out my name, but the chaos obscured my view

"Dang it" I cursed, realizing I had lost sight of her amidst the panicked crowd.

The fire was spreading quickly, and my face was covered in sweat as I struggled to find Annie. "I have to stay calm and find her" I urged myself, pushing through the crowd to search for her.

But the heat was suffocating, and the smoke made it hard to breathe or see clearly.

The narrow aisles and exits were filled with people, pushing and shoving to get out. People stepped on my feet in their desperation to escape the spreading flames

As my eyes scanned the area, I suddenly noticed a figure on the ground. The cloak obscured her face, but strands of red hair peeked out from beneath the hood.

i felt sigh of relief that I found her

“Annie! “I called out and rush towards her

"Fire exit! Fire exit!" My eyes darted around, desperately searching for an exit.
Without hesitation, I tightened my grip on her hand and started to pull her forcefully toward the exit, the urgency of the situation pushing me to act swiftly.

We finally able to get outside the burning building

"Annie, are you okay?" I asked, and as I turned around, a different person was standing in front of me

As the hood of her cloak slipped down, her face came into full view, standing in front of me is a beautiful girl with pink hair and red eyes

I suddenly realized that the girl's hair was not red as I initially thought, but rather a vibrant shade of pink.

I must have thought her hair was red due to the reflection of the flames causing me to mistake her hair for a different color.

The realization sent a chill down my spine. It wasn't Annie

” I’m sorry I mistook you as someone else” I apologized

‘‘But thank you for saving me” the girl said timidly

"please get the assistance you need from the medical team I'm sorry but I have to look for Annie ” I said as I leave her

“It wasn't her fault at all'' I said to myself as I left her and went back

"You can't go back inside."i heard a familiar voice. I stopped my tracks and saw the same person who had saved Camela yesterday

Listen to me camela” he said sternly as he tried to stop her

"Do not interfere, Glen..." she firmly replied, determination in her eyes.

"You can't go back inside." The man which I believe named glen pleaded with her

However, camela didn’t responded and pushed him aside.

Ignoring his please

Again, she coldly said “I have to save them"

I didn't waste a moment and rushed back inside the burning building. Annie's safety is my top priority. I called out her name, hoping for a response, but silence greeted me.

"Annie! Annie!!" I yelled, my heart pounding with panic and fear, but no response reached my ears.

But the smoke was so thick, I could barely see a thing. Despite the chaos, I stumbled toward what felt like the right direction.

Suddenly, I found myself in a music room, this isn't the auditorium

A piano engulfed by flames. I caught a glimpse of something not too far from the burning instrument.

A person?

“Could it be annie?

The smoke and heat surrounded me, filling my lungs, causing me to struggle to breathe. I felt a heavy weight upon my shoulders as I walked towards the burning piano

Suddenly, the ceiling and the grand chandelier above me began to crumble. The weight of the debris crashed onto me, trapping me in place. I couldn't move as the pain shot through my body, the impact leaving me immobilized, with debris pinning me to the floor.

The once grand chandelier lay shattered around me, its fragments embedding into my skin.

My body felt heavy. I could barely move.

"Is this the end? Am I being punished?" I wondered, unable to shake off the feeling of impending doom.

I felt helpless, trapped, and the weight of the situation seemed unbearable, but I held onto the hope that she was unharmed. I pleaded inwardly, hoping she had managed to avoid harm and escape the danger that surrounded us.

Fear and guilt gnawed at me. "Annie, please be safe,"
