The basics

Everyone prepared their weapons and went ahead, another mission of tracking. Everyone was following the same pace, and as they told, there weren't any foes to deal with, they reached Sector F and advanced to the unexplored area, it was still in a straight line so it was easy for the team to set the trackers on the walls. No one talked, and no one had the intention to start a conversation, they just focused on their own work.

Yasu was putting a track and he saw an unusual deformity in the rocks, before doing anything, Yasu saw the communication channel and talked.

—Do you see this too? Can I begin an extraction?

—Sure, be careful, someone watch his back.

Sakura held his blade behind Yasu in case something went wrong, Yasu knocked the heap with the gauntlet and a hollow sound was made, he aimed with his arm making the arm deploy the laser and started cutting the wall in a circular form.

Yasu took with the hand of the gauntlet, but the rock didn’t want to come out, he took his staff and hit it, destroying the rock, he started to clean the area, it was a combination of dust, rocks and gems being dug up by Yasu. In there, there wasn’t really anything, but a hole, Yasu put his hand inside.

—Yasu, stop what you're doing now! —the navigator shouted.

—Don’t worry, the hole is close, there’s something inside that I want.

—Are you sure, is it closed?

—Yes, I’m not stupid to put my hand into something that will eat it.

—I understand, alright, continue.

Yasu took out a destroyed object, a rectangular one.

—What’s that? I thought it was important… —Sakura sighed.

—What do you mean? This is a cellphone from before the greater war, well, this doesn’t work anymore…

Yasu saved the phone inside the belt of the suit and continued.

—Sorry about that, let’s go.

—Huh… you really are weird —Sakura said.

The group started to walk and Yasu looked at Sakura.

—What? —Sakura said in a slightly annoyed mood.

—This is the only place where I can find more of these things, so it’s not that weird.

—Joining these places for that reason is weird enough.

—Why did you join the collectors?

—I don’t have to answer you that…

—I guess you are right.

And after that the silence invaded the surroundings again, even though it looked awkward, nobody was really annoyed by it, they did their job, and finished, the hallway ended and they saw the map, covering new sectors, and they were in sector H now.

—Great job everyone, this is the last mission of the day, please come back.

The team did the same, going to the start point with the man in white to the mine cars, then entering the elevator and removing their helmet and being welcomed by the researcher team, Yasu gave them the phone that he found and they were welcomed by the navigator.

—Great work, 432nd squad, you can leave your armors in the back rooms along with your weapons, wait for us outside of them and another person will tell you what to do next.

Everyone went to the backrooms and got changed, having their white uniforms again and the things in a little backpack in a little backpack. They were waiting while Amano moved his leg, Sakura played with his hair, Ryu had his arms crossed, Nazu was watching the ceiling, Midori was touching the wall constantly with his finger and Yasu was listening to his music. A man in a lab coat came with a box and approached Yasu. Yasu put his headphones in his neck and listen to the man

—Here it is, Mister De Cruz, everything seems fine.

Yasu took the box and saved it in his bag, he was about to put his headphones back when none other than Kaminari who welcomed them, Yasu stopped the music and saved his media player along with his headphones in the backpack.

—Hello, seems like the mission went well, a bit boring but it is what it is, follow me, it’s time to eat.

Kaminari guided the group to a hallway beyond the backrooms and opened a door, the gloomy and dark room was being left and they were received by a gigantic space where a lot of people were already eating.

—This is the cafeteria, order whatever you want, you can wash your hands in here.

Kaminari extended his hands in a sink, the water came out automatically and after that he moved his hands one by one through a little disk that seemed like a portal with blue lights on it that changed to green when one hand was completely dried.

—Another member will tell you the rest, I’m just here for my break, we will see each other, and don’t forget the reports, I’m still waiting for them.

Everyone nod and the chief left, each of the team started to clean their hands and went ahead to find a sit, Ryu went to a bar table, Nazu went to one too, a different one from Ryu, Yasu went to sit down in a table and Midori, Amano, Marin and Sakura follow him, the three of the man were sitting in front of the girls.

A little robot holding a plate ran to us and left glasses of water and touched the table, where a variety of food and drinks was being shown.

—Orders!

—I want the creamy soup and meat, and coffee with cream and sugar —said Sakura.

—I want the stew, with a bit more juice please, and a green tea —said Marin.

—Brochette and rice for me, and peppermint tea please —said Amano.

—I want mashed potatoes and meat, with the water is fine —said Midori.

—Give me the beans with meat and breads with cheese along with a coffee with just one cube of sugar —said Yasu

—Roger! Orders! Process! Coming back soon!

The robot turned off the table and ran with the plate in its head. The food came after a few minutes, and everyone started eating, the lights were artificial, one couldn’t see the exterior of the building. The team was silent too, they were enjoying their meals but they didn’t want to be completely alone.

While they were eating another man in white with short dark hair approached the team.

—Hello, you are the 432nd squad, right?

—Yes —said Marin while drinking her tea.

—Ah, great, I’m just passing by to give you your keys to your rooms, in there you can find changes of clothes and includes a personal bathroom so you don’t have to worry about privacy, where are the rest of you?

Sakura out with bread in his mouth the bar two table bars where Ryu and Nazu were and the man sigh, and started to give us cards with a keychain that said “4B”

—Alright, I will go give them the same information as you, you are going to take the door from over there —the man pointed out a pair of doors —. Enjoy your meals.

Everyone nodded and continued eating, Yasu looked at his watch just for curiosity and it was almost going to be 10:00pm. The same robot came and started to take the empty plates of everyone and then left.

The team stand-up and went to the doors, Ryu and Nazu got along with them and when they entered, it was a red hallway that went to the sides and in front there was a lot of what it seemed like elevators, they took one that was empty and the moment in itself a window was revel behind them, the push the button that said “4B” the same as the keychain.

The elevator started to go down and then forward, once it reached the location it was open by the side that had the little window, the place was made as the same of the lobby of the elevators, red velvet with lights in the lines of the wall on top, everyone walked while seeing their card and had a number and a letter, for Yasu it was C13, for Amano C11, for Ryu C16, for Nazu C10, for Sakura C12, for Marin, C15, and for Midori C14.

Once they reached their own door, they inserted the card in the door that it opened automatically, Yasu entered his room leaving his backpack on the bed, it was almost the same as his own apartment but a bit bigger, in there was a television and a closet with other basic furniture, he took out a short t-shirt, soggy pants and socks from the closet, all of them white.

He went to take a shower that lasted no more than ten minutes, and changed himself. He looked at the roof and saw the sides of the bed, where he pressed a button and all the lights were out, he slowly started to fall asleep as he watched the ceiling getting blurry.
