Raceblazers

A huge city at night suddenly caught every racer’s attention by surprise.

This was in the middle of one of Revv’s greatest locations.

Hypercity.

Everything was starting to become unusual for a few reasons to Chelbie.

She was pretty sure that after entering the world of Sonus, that time itself in Revv wouldn’t have changed so quickly. Especially since Daylight Stadium was literally located in Hypercity.

“Guys, are you seeing this?!“ she yelled from out of her truck as Mache nodded yes.

“Focus on the road Chelbie! We’re halfway there! Let’s ask questions later,” exclaimed Zadz as he rushed up right next to her.

While it was true that the race was the biggest factor to consider, she was beginning to suspect that President Daylight was once again scheming something behind the scenes.

People watched from above as the cars raced in abstractly shaped tunnels. They eventually reached a large alleyway with neon-lit pipes, dumpsters, and walls stretching across their view of the place.

In seconds, more cars started to run out of fuel from travelling so far. Crashes became imminent for some but Chelbie’s team still had the chance to make it to the end if they tried.

Only one thing showed to be problematic when Lucila and her teammates were suddenly popping out with something new to catch racers off-guard.

Rocket launchers.

Now the pieces were coming together. The contract said that handheld weapons weren’t allowed on the racetrack, yet President Daylight was allowing it to happen regardless.

The games were rigged from the start thanks to Lucila and a corrupt founder who had more devious motives hidden on the side. It was already strange enough that deaths were being glorified on live television…

But this was taking it too far.

“Alright, that’s it! No more backseats! This girl’s goin’ in at full throttle!” yelled Chelbie while pressing the gas pedal harder and steering with extreme force.

Of course, amidst trying to stop the madness from spreading, Lucila and her crew started to shoot down multiple vehicles that were in their vicinity.

Meanwhile, Trax was also trying his best to avoid being the biggest target on their list.

The destruction being caused however came to a complete halt when everyone noticed the portal leading to the next stage open with a certain foe walking from what would have been the last part of the level that the racers needed to face.

It was The Skullspiker.

Although the machine looked a lot more larger, darker, and spikier than normal, there was something just as threatening behind the bot that would prove to be deadlier than anything that was going on between them.

Not even Lucila could outmatch what was blocking their path.

With only The Flaming Cones and Holo-Girlz left neck-in-neck to win this competition, a dark tank with this red X pattern decorated on the wheels also had flaring fiery spikes coming out from the backend of the tank’s body.

A name could also be seen printed in white bold text underneath where its three cannons lied above it.

The Dark Hazard

Such a machination this huge could only have been intended to redefine the scale of this problem that was already looking to be rather grim for the people of Revv.

In fact, from all of its previous bouts with racers, The Skullspiker never appeared in another Blazethon stage before beside the one shown in Mechatopolis. This was also the first time it made an appearance with a tank that had even remotely triple the shooting power.

Audience members were stunned yet filled with excitement until the tank started to point and explode every surrounding building into crusts of rubble.

Lucila, who was getting closer to the tank’s proximity, began to shoot one of her relentless shots at the machine to clear a path for herself.

However, that proved to be a fatal mistake when The Skullspiker shot all three cannons at a devastating angle.

Life flashed in front of her eyes as the car flipped and crushed Lucila’s body into a bloody mess.

But that wasn’t as worse as what Chelbie saw when Trax used the crushed ground to aim his Spedflare at The Skullspiker’s head.

The robot’s fist slammed headfirst into the hood of the sports car, knocking Trax unconscious as it busted even the glass.

And then, with its large foot placed over where Trax was in his driver seat, Chelbie finally shoved The Skullspiker and her monster truck into the last stage of the race.

Rockfire Road.
