....
Oh, wait! We’re already in the second chapter, and I haven’t even introduced myself—how silly of me! So, hello! I’m Elias Van Solace, but she has a knack for calling me ‘Eli’ on special occasions. Okay now let's go continue, As the rain started to lift, my eyes fell upon my destination not far ahead; a building clad in shimmering chrome and glass(this architectural marvel was made by her groom y'all). The wedding was to be held on the top 2 floors of the building but by the time I reached the third floor, my legs felt like lead, Yes, I officially gave up on attending the wedding and made my way to the bar downstairs (sorry dad but third times the charm) As seconds turned into minutes and finally an hour, I found myself on my second glass now, it was some fancy organic gen-XII-based malted maize and wheat harvested from District 7.

“ELIAS!!"

“Hey, mind if I join you? "

There she was the love of my life,- 'Lyra Selene' her beauty captured in her neat white gown, her hair neatly pinned, she lifted her dress ever so gently and took the seat next to me. The voice was soft, familiar, and entirely out of place in this dreary corner of my sad reality.
I blinked, unsure if I was hallucinating. But, I wish I was

“You...you’re not supposed to be here.”

“And you’re not supposed to be drinking,” she replied with a small smile,

The bartender approached, his neutral expression flickering into something resembling surprise as he registered her presence. “Madam—”
“Two of whatever he’s having,” she said, cutting him off.

As she had never been drunk before, I knew what she had meant with those words and being the person I am, I played right into her hands.

"Hey Ly, get up! Everyone is waiting for you up there."

"Exactly my point Eli, you know that the bride has been waiting for her best friend and here you are, I am disappointed"

"Okay, I get you. Now let's leave," I said taking her hand.

She then replied, "Only if you promise to never leave my hand, okay??"

She didn't know what those words did to me but well If I had to courage to express my feelings, I wouldn't be in this position now.

"Okay, Pinky promise, now let's goooo!!"
