Chapter 285:

Crimes against the queen

En Passant Grandmaster

The four made their way to the hotel's billiards room.

"Well this is an odd place to hold a match," Okisato noted.

"Allura wants to shoot some pool and swim in the pool," Allura smiled.

Okisato began to grow weary as Jadwiga shot him a glare. "Man, you hold little respect for me. I will school and reeducate you in proper behavioral action."

"You're the one that needs the attitude shift, Abgarowicz-san."

"Um, excuse me? Why did thouth just refer to me by my last name, first? Art thou trying to insult me by not speaking mine regal name!?"

Jadwiga was quickly rising on Okisato's list of those he despised the most. It also was tempting him to attempt something insane, in order to completely humiliate her. But said plan was quite risky, as no matter how good he was, it would put him at a serious disadvantage. But he felt he had to go for it.

"Welp, I already know how to beat the busted baron, so I can afford to push my mind tonight," he thought as Jadwiga opened the gae by moving her pawn to e4.

Okisato responded by moving his pawn to e5, tempting Jadwiga to ask if Okisato dared to try playing a Bongcloud against her as she moved her knight to f3.

Upon seeing the move, Okisato let loose a maniacal grin an said that wasn't the case, as he slammed his queen down on h4.

Jadwiga stared in shock for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. "What is this!? Some kind of a "flex"? Well seems you're proving that your brain is in a neanderthal state; hanging your queen at this moment is akin to a forced mate. Why I imagine if we could see the eval bar for this game, it would be completely white in my favor!" Jadwiga sneered as she captured the queen at h4 with her knight.

"Laugh all you want; You won't beat me," Okisato snickered as he moved his pawn to d5.

That was easier said than done as Jadwiga was a grandmaster with a rating of 2684, and one of Poland's top chess players. She was also right in her assesment that if an eval bar could be shown, it would be almost entirely white in her favor, but not COMPLETELY white.

Okisato still had a slimmmer of a chance, but it wouldn't be easy. e captures d5, bishop e7, and Jadwiga was already bringing out her queen to e2. She had every right to feel confident as the advantage was overwhelmingly hers.

"Oh, and now you seek to play catchup? And with that idiotic "shit eating" grin?" she sneered as Okisato captured the knight at h4 with his bishop.

"Guess you don't know, but I only go chuuni when I'm kicking ass. Know what that means?"

"Yes, you'll need a year of mental therapy in order to become a suitable mate. Check, I'd love to say mate," Jadwiga sneered as she captured the pawn at e5 with her queen.

It was a risky gamble for Okisato, but he needed to keep his sadistic grin plastered on his face for the whole match. And that was in addition to trying to convert a win from this position. Without a queen this early on, Okisato was at the mercy of Jadwiga, evidenced by the fact that after he moved his knight to e7, Jadwiga captured the pawn at g7 with her queen, forcing rook g8. The queen then went to h6, forcing Okisato to move his bishop to g5.

This looked like a counterattack, but it was an empty threat as queen to h5 solved all Jadwiga's worries with ease. "My queen could even take you out singlehandedly. Oh, what a sight that would be!"

"Keep dreaming, cuz your ass is the one getting kicked," Okisato snickered as he moved his knight to a6.

"Oh? Then let your queen kick your ass as part of your obedience training," Jadwiga scoffed as she moved her pawn to h4.

"Says the idiot about to lose her queen," Okisato snickered as he moved his bishop to g4.

"Wrong once more, for I, nor my queen are in any danger. You however, are moves away from mate and servitude," Jadwiga declared as she captured the pawn at h7 with her queen.

As much as he hated to admit it, Okisato knew he was in a tight squeeze. Even though he was playing as best he could, Jadwiga's chances of winning were still close to 100%. Bishop f6, knight c3, knight b4, and queen e4 only further proved Jadwiga controlled the board and game.

Okisato would need to not just play perfectly, but hope Jadwiga made a mistake, which was easier said than done. Him moving his pawn to a5, seemed to work, as it prompted Jadwiga to move her knight to b5. This wasn't the best move, but it didn't matter as Jadwiga still had the overwhelming edge.

But after a queen's side castle, d6, and knight f5, Jadwiga moved her knight to a7. This was a misstep, yet it mattered not as Jadwiga still had the edge. However, it had decreased ever so slightly, giving Okisato hope his gambit would pay off.

He continued to play perfectly and moved his king to d7, prompting Jadwiga to capture the pawn at c7 with her d-pawn.

"Check. So feel like crying for mercy?" Okisato taunted as he captured the pawn at c2 with his knight.

"Why would I? The capture is forced," Jadwiga sneered as she captured the knight at e2 with her queen.

"So's this check," Okisato countered as he moved his d-knight to e8.

Jadwiga smiled and simply slid her bishop to e2, but once Okisato captured said bishop with his rook, a slight scowl appeared on her face. The reason why was due to the fact that she had only two possible legal moves, with one of those moves leading to mate for her.

"Foul bastard. King d1 would shift things entirely, but a neanderthal fails to see that king f1 throws his deluded wastes to the side," she thought as she moved her king to f1.

But Okisato further caused her face to scowl by capturing the pawn at f2 with his rook. Now if Jadwiga captured said rook, or moved her king to the wrong square, it would be mate for her.

"Foul bastard, wast thou assuming my majestic intellectual grandeur was on your neanderthal level of thinking?" Jadwiga snarled, barely keeping her rage in check as she moved her king to g1.

"Getting ad already?" I haven't even taken your queen yet," Okisato taunted as he captured the pawn at g2 with his rook.

"WSTRĘTNY DRAŃ [FOUL BASTARD]! You dare mock me when me heel is pressed on your throat!?" Jadwiga fumed as she captured the rook at g2 with her king.

"Thought you wore sneakers, not heels," Okisato taunted as he movd hos bishop to d1.

Jadwiga paused, before her composure returned. "Tis but a metaphor. As for my fashion, I'm in agreement with Mizuse Niimi's stance tha sneakers are peak femininity. They are also far more suitable for parkaour," she stated as she moved her king to f2.

"Never knocked your style. In fact, I too think girls look hotter in sneakers," Okisato stated as he captured the queen at c2 with his bishop.

"Oh, spilling thy desires? I'd heard you were ore of a quiet man," Jadwiga snickered as she moved her pawn to c8 and promoted it to a queen.

"Well consider it a treat you get to see my wild side for such a length. Even in normal play, it only comes out towards the end once I know I've won," Okisato stated as he captured the queen at c8 with his rook.

"Oh? Are you trying to imply you've been winning from the start? Rubbish. Your insanity is just that, insanity. Or perhaps one final hurrah for this "chuuni mode" of yours as all traces of it will be scrubbed during your reeducation training," Jadwiga sneered as she captured the rook at c8 with her knight.

"Well someone's a dictator," Okisato snickered as he captured the knight at c8 with his king.

The snide though seemed to greatly offend Jadwiga as a look of pure contempt and disgust flooded her face. "Oi, trash. Don't EVER put me in the same category as Hitler," she glared as she moved her pawn to h5.

"Bit of a jump, all I did was call you a dictator," Okisato shrugged as he moved his pawn to a4.

"Perhaps you're unaware, but Hitler caused great strife and turmoil to befall Poland in the time of my grandparents. You assume that I'd be like that trash if I was queen? Choose your words carefully; Are you simply of he mind that monarchy in general is akin to dictators, or was your insult directed solely at me?" Jadwiga glared as she moved her pawn to h6.

"Then allow e to say it politely; you're a tyrant," Okisato snickered as he moved his bishop to d4.

Veins appeared to pop on Jadwiga's head as she forced a smile and moved her king to f3. "Oh, a tyrant you say? So the same thing."

"Not going to ask me to "repeat that, statement, because I thought I misheard you"?" Okisato taunted as he moved his pawn to a3.

"Why would I want to hear such foul slander once more?" Jadwiga angrily smiled as she moved her pawn to h7.

"Cuz you're a dictator tyrant, that's why," Okisato taunted as he moved his bishop to h8.

"Odetnę ci język i wepchnę go w dupę[ I'm going to cut your tongue off and shove it up your ass]!" Jadwiga fumed as she slammed her pawn down on d4.

"Sorry, could you please translate? I'm not fluent in Polish," Okisato smirked as he captured the pawn at d4 with his knight.

"Oh my apologies, I won't translate, because that's on you for being a monolinguistic neanderthal like my father," Jadwiga snarled as she slammed her king down on f2.

"Hmm? Thought you were proud to be his daughter," Okisato mused as he moved his knight to c6.

"I believe he's a power-hungry bastard seeking to become a dictator. Yet he is Prime minister, akin to Poland's king. Thus, I proudly state that I am the daughter of the head of state so that all can know who I am and where I stand. In the olden days, that's how princes and princess sought to gain allies, by declaring their lineage and informing the people on why they should replace their parent as chief ruler of the nation," Jadwiga stated as she moved her bishop to e3.

"Sorry, but I barely know anything about you, so I didn't know that. Oh, and I'm fluent in English and Danish, and German and know a bit of Russian," Okisato stated as he captured the pawn at b2 with his a-pawn.

"Like I'd believe you!" Jadwiga scoffed as she moved her a-rook to f1.

"Hvis jeg begyndte at tale hele sætninger på dansk, ville du så tro mig? [If I started speaking whole sentences in Danish, would you believe me]?" Okisato asked as he moved his knight to b4.

Jadwiga scowled, yet remained defiant. "My apologies, but I don't speak Danish, so I have no way of knowing that what you said wasn't just made-up gibberish," she scoffed as she moved her pawn to a3.

"Wetten, dass Sie Deutsch verstehen. Lassen Sie es mich also noch einmal sagen; Sie sind ein tyrannischer Diktator, Jadwiga Abgarowicz [Bet you understand Geman though. So let me say it again; you're a tyrannical dictator, Jadwiga Abgarowicz]," Okisato snickered as he moved his knight to a2.

SLAM!

Fury seethed out of Jadwiga as she slammed her f-rook down on g1. "You fucking bastard fucker. You dare try to mock ME!?"

"Yeah, cuz it's strategy," Okisato snickered as he moved his king to d7.

And strategy it was. With Jadwiga's last move, her edge had now dwindled to only a slim one. A drawn endgame was now feasibly in the card for Okisato, which while not a win, would still be quite infuriating to Jadwiga. Indeed, with bishop d2, knight c3, bishop captures c3, and bishop captures c3, it certainly looked like the game was headed for a draw.

Jadwiga still had confidence though as she had two rooks and two pawns compared to Okisato's two bishops and three pawns. It also wasn't completely dead even as Jadwiga did have a slight edge, but more often than not, games in this position ended in draws, assuming both player played the best moves of course.

"Nefarious. You are a nefarious man. Which is all the more reason conquering you in mind and body will be all the more satisfying," Jadwiga glared as she moved her king to e3.

"Uh, I'm only 17," Okisato bluntly stated as he moved his king to c6.

"And? Poland's age of consent is 15," Jadwiga glared as she moved her rook to d1.

"Whoa, you going full Kamoshida? No wonder you're a tyrant," Okisato scowled as he moved his king to b6.

Okisato's scowl caused Jadwiga to let out a sigh and apologize for her remark as she moved her d-rook to f1. "That was a subject matter for which I can understand receiving a tongue lashing for, thus, I apologize for the offense, but just for that subject matter alone."

"Admirable. So how old are you? Don't tell me it' 15," Okisato shrugged as he moved his king to a7.

Jadwiga scowled once more, remarking that it was taboo to ask a woman her age, before moving her rook to b1 and begrudgingly telling hi she was 21 years old.

"Well then ya might want to take back all those statements about making me your mate," Okisato snickered as he moved his king to a6.

"Not in the slightest. For if I have you confined for a year to be properly trained, you'll be 18 by the time of your release, and I can wed you as queen of Poland with no issues," Jadwiga snarled as she moved her b-rook to f1.

"And why do you even want to marry me?" Okisato asked as he moved his pawn to b6.

"Genetics. I was told you have quite a strong body. Those genetics would serve my heirs well," Jadwiga stated as she moved her king to e2.

"Yeah, I'm grinding out for a win," Okisato thought as he moved his bishop to g6.

While things had stabilized to the point where Okisato could at the very least avoid losing, converting a win from an even position was near impossible barring no blunders. King e3, king b5, rook d1, king a4, rook d3, bishop captures d3, king captures d3, and the game was truly dead even.

Jadwiga was still confident though, even after Okisato moved his king to b3. "He hopes to draw. How neanderthal of him. This must have been why he suggested the format be Armageddon. Well, too bad for him, but I'm the smartest and strongest woman on the planet! He should feel honored that I have deemed his genetics worthy of being passed on to my heirs," Jadwiga thought as she moved her rook to g1.

Okisato's eyes widened as Jadwiga took her hand off the piece. He was no longer to contain himself and burst into maniacal laughter.

"AHEM! Just because I said this was your insanity's last hurrah, doesn't mean you can flood my ears with your vulgar cackling!"

"Oh... Time really does heal," Okisato chuckled as he calmed down a bit and moved his pawn to b5.

"Well no matter, your end is imminent," Jadwiga scoffed as she moved her rook to f1.

Okisato moved his bishop to h8, causing Jadwiga to scowl and move her rook back to g1. "You trying to threefold or something?" Okisato taunted as he captured the pawn at a3 with his king.

"Why would I when I'm winning?" Jadwiga scoffed as she oved her king to c2.

Okisato simply chuckled and moved his king to a2. It was clear he felt confident about his chances, or perhaps he truly had gone mad. Jadwiga firmly believed it was the latter until she moved her king to d2 and Okisato moved his pawn to b1 and promoted it to a queen.

"Guess who's back, to get sacked again," Okisato taunted as Jawiga frantically captured the queen at b1 with her rook.

Now panic had begun to consume her as she watched Okisato capture her rook at b1 with his king. All she had left now was a pawn, and it was blocked by Okisato's bishop. And worse, Okisato had two pawns left as well, so if he started pushing them, which he most certainly would. A stalemate would be the best Jadwiga could hope for.

"No, no, NO! I can't lose! He threw away his queen on move 2! If I lose- No, I can't lose, I'm the future queen of Poland, the world's strongest woman in mind and body! I- If I lose to this neaderthal- No, I WON'T lose!" Jadwiga thought as she scowled and moved her king to d3.

Okisato had little to fear at this point and moved his king to a2. Now he could do the hunting. Jadwiga didn't like being in this position at all. Contrary to what she said to herself about being the smartest and strongest, she was far from it. Though her chess prowess was nothing to scoff at, making it all the more humiliating that she was about to lose.

"Where is the draw, WHERE is the draw!?" Jadwiga thought as she moved her king to c2, desperately looking for a way out of this.

But Okisato had it in the bag and simply needed to convert the win, which he inched ever so closer to doing by moving his pawn to b4. Desperate, Jadwiga moved her king tod2, but Okisato continued advancing his pawn, this time to b3. Running seemed like the best option for Jadwiga as she moved her king to e3, but after moving his pawn to b2, Okisato was a move away from getting a queen.

"Maybe he'll underpromote. Yes, that's the type of man he is!" Jadwiga thought as she moved her king to e4, the sweat continuing to flood down her face.

"Sorry, but I'm not gonna blunder away an easy win. Check," Okisato maliciously grinned as he moved his pawn to b1 and promoted it to a queen.

Jadwiga gritted her teeth in fear and frustration as she moved her king to f4.

"Huh? Whwere'd all that haughty bluster go, miss tyrannical dictator?" Okisato taunted as he moved his queen to d3.

"How dare you... HOW DARE YOU! NEVERMIND THE SLANDEROUS INSULT, HOW DARE THEE USE A QUEEN TO MATE ME AFTER WHAT YOU DID ON THIS GAME'S SECOND MOVE!" Jadwiga shouted as she slammed her king down on g5.

"And?" Okisato scoffed as he moved his queen to f3.

"IT'S A CRIME AGAINST THE QUEEN! BOTH THE ONE ON THE BOARD, AND THE FUTURE QUEEN BEFORE YOU!" Jadwiga fumed as she moved her king to h6.

"It's all legal in chess. Must suck though to lose when you had the advantage. Really says a lot about you," Okisato snickered as he moved his bishop to f6.

"You foul... YOU FOUL BASTARD! I am the queen that will lead Poland to prosperity! I- I can't lose to a neanderthal like you," Jadwiga trembled as she moved her pawn to h8 and promoted it to a queen.

"Well then document it that I'm a neanderthal, cuz that means you lost to a neanderthal. Checkmate, ba-ka," Okisato snickered as he slammed his queen down on h1, winning the game.

Tears began to well up in Jadwiga's eyes, and a few seconds later, she began sobbing uncontrollably. As she wallowed in sorrow, Okisato looked around to notice Zago and Allura were nowhere to be seen. He quickly pulled out his WWCF card and did a quick search, finding that Zago had actually lost to Allura.

"Poor guy, well if she's THE Allura Zhumagaziyeva, then he should consider himself lucky, or I guess it maybe unlucky as all Allura's fans will be after him.

Allura Zhumagaziyeva was one of Kazakhstan's biggest celebrities, gaining worldwide fame upon moving to Hollywood, California. She was also a singer and was often dubbed the Tina Schift of Kazakhstan due to her immense popularity.

Okisato couldn't be sure if the Allura he had seen was the real deal, but quickly found she truly was the real deal after doing a quick internet search.

"Huh, guess she does play chess and is decent. Speaking of which, wonder if the pairings for the women are up yet."

As Okisato looked up the pairings, gas began flooding the room. Drowsiness quickly overtook Okisato as he fell to the floor unconscious. A masked Ginji then entered and stood above him. He then glanced over at the unconscious Jadwiga and pulled out his phone.

"Perfect. It was a 1 in 3 shot, but it paid off. Now Oki-chwan can sink both the men's and women's teams."
