Chapter 37:
The Nietzsche Protocol (TNP): The Cult
Chizuru, and Shion arrived at Okinawa the day after their wedding via airship. The huge clunky boat was large enough to fit about 400 people with their own little cabins below deck. The trip had taken about a day, and they spent most of their time locked up in their cabin engaging in newlywed activities or Shion on video calls with Adam and Alexander.
Since moving in, Shion and Alexander had become thick as thieves. Wherever Shion went he was her shadow. Bathroom, shower, kitchen, bed, literally everywhere. If Shion was there the small black cat was alway nearby. Of course, like any obsessed pet owner, Shion requested daily video calls with her new pet. Rather than be jealous, Chizuru was very amused by this kind of behavior from her new wife who, usually tried so hard to avoid attachments.
The airship captain sent an overhead announcement declaring about an hour left to dock in Okinawa. Both women groaned as Chizuru rested her cheek on Shion' bare back and hugged her from behind.
Shion turned her head and looked at her new wife, "Chi-chan do we have to put our clothes back on now? Can't we just stay naked like this forever?"
Chizuru grabbed Shion's wrist and flipped her over, pinning her down. Looking into Shion's eyes, Chizuru playfully considered Shion's proposal, "Hmm, I wonder? I kind of like the sound of that but Shion-chan, we have the rest of our lives to do this. I bet in a few more years the rest of Okinawa will be under water. Which means no more exotic animal zoo," Shion pouted, "But, if we hurry, we can still be ready before the ship lands and be like this a little longer?" Chizuru bent down close to Shion's face.
Shion looked up at Chizuru, "I like a good compromise." And the two interlaced their fingers in a passionate embrace.
The overhead announcement sounded again, "15 minutes until landing. All passengers secure your belongings. I repeat, all passengers secure your belongings."
After a loud yawn and a deep stretch, Shion got herself out of bed and was met with an already dressed Chizuru. She was wearing what Chizuru herself had deemed acceptable beach clothes. Her tank top was ocean green and white striped, her shorts white, accompanied with a matching wide brimmed white hat, and a pair of ocean green flip-flops.
Shion's outfit was almost the same, but her tank top was striped blue and white, her hat was made of straw, with matching blue flip flops. Shion let out a long sigh, "Beach clothes?! Chi-chan do I really have to...?"
Chizuru handed Shion the pile of clothes, " You promised, remember?"
"Yeah, yeah, alright." Shion proceeded to grumpily get dressed. Shion who was lean but heavily muscled look great in her beach clothes that left many of her muscles exposed for all to see.
Chizuru reassured her by tossing her a brand-new tube of sunblock that read "SPF 200".
"Shion-chan, don't worry about getting a tan. With that stuff you will probably go home whiter than when we left."
"I hope so, don't want my dark skin blowing my cover," replied Shion as she applied a thick coat of sunscreen. Her hybrid genes allowed for protection from the sun, but that also allowed for her to develop a dark-dark tan that would be impossible for Upperclass to achieve.
Chizuru grabbed their luggage and sat it near the cabin door. There were only a few minutes left until they landed so Chizuru grabbed the last couple meals out of their mini fridge and offered one to Shion. Before the nanites Chizuru wasn't a big eater, but now she found herself constantly starving. She finally understood how her wife could shovel down food in seemingly unlimited quantities. The two opened the meal containers which were filled with cold soba and chowed down.
Shion and Chizuru had a few reasons for picking Okinawa as their getaway location. One: it was far enough away that most people wouldn't recognize them on sight. Two: they were recommended to visit a ring shop that would make them custom wedding bands. Three: there were lots of new animals and nature to visit. The third reason has been the selling point for the reluctant Shion.
Before any of those other things, the pair planned to meet up with a friend of Chizuru's from middle school whose family would be renting them a small house.
Shion picked up her heavy army green duffle bag along with three of Chizuru's bags and slung them over her shoulder, Chizuru grabbed their shared suitcase and the two left the cabin and headed for the deck. If they got there soon, they would avoid the long line to exit the airship.
Once they escaped the narrow cabin halls, the two joined hands and looked out over the water. Of all the bodies of water, the ocean was the cleanest due to the introduction of genetically modified animals that fed off of garbage and harmful chemicals. Another of the few Nazi experiments that was beneficial to the planet. The two spotted some dolphins jumping out of the water as if racing the airship.
Shion tightly grabbed Chizuru's waist as the ship bounced several times on the water before coming to a slow stop. Before people could start lining up to exit, Chizuru and Shion ran to the front, securing first place in line to exit. The attendant scanned the women's wrists, and off they went to a small cafe near the dock. Chizuru's friend was sitting at an outside table and got up to greet Chizuru excitedly.
"Chizuru!!!! I haven't seen you in such a long time," the girl let out an excited squeal before picking her up and twirling her around. Shion, surprised by the show of familiarity, was working hard to suppress the malice that seeped from her very core. "Did it just get cold?" the girl said while shivering.
Shion shook off the intense desire to kill as the girl turned to her with her hand extended. Shion reached her hand and reminded herself not to crush this person's bones. Chizuru would have some questions about her relationship with this girl.
"Hi my name is Greta Meyer, you must be Shion Tanaka, Chizuru's new wife. Nice to meet you," the girl gave Shion a warm and unexpected hug, but when she tried to pick her up she strained and grabbed her back. "Holy hell, that's heavy. Are you carrying around a sack of bricks or something?"
Shion smiled, "Something like that." Shion thought to herself about the weapons and gear in the duffle and let out a sigh. They had brought it just in case, but hoped they wouldn’t need to use it.
Greta walked in a circle around Shion blatantly checking her out. "Hmm. Hot but cute. Nice catch, Chizuru. She definitely is not as scary as I would have guessed from her reputation."
Chizuru could feel Shion's discomfort and beemed her, "Don't worry. She is a foreigner; she grew up in Berlin before her parents became diplomats to New Japan. She isn't being rude on purpose."
Shion grabbed Chizuru's hand. To ease the tension, Chizuru asked Greta to show them to their place. Greta eagerly obliged, walking towards the man-made mountain to the right of the air dock. As they started climbing the wide stairs that led to the house, Shion instructed Chizuru and Greta to sit on the duffle bag. With hesitation Greta joined Chizuru and then Shion began to book it up the stairs. In a couple minutes they arrived at a large traditional Japanese style house. Shion sat the girls and the luggage down by the front door.
Greta stood up in amazement saying "OMG Shion you are literally so strong. I guess it's not out of the question then."
Shion looked puzzled, "What's not out of the question?"
"That you tear people apart with your bare hands."
Chizuru scoffed, "No, that's 100% true. Have you been looking my wife up on the internet, Greta?"
Greta chuckled nervously, "Can you blame me? I didn't even know you were seeing anyone then you suddenly get married. I was curious what kind of person was able to capture your heart."
Chizuru just folded her arms and shook her head. Just like Greta to do a hardcore internet search into someone.
Greta took out the key and opened the door revealing a traditional style living room, kitchen, bathroom, and 5 bedrooms with tatami mats, and a large family size bathtub.
Chizuru and Shion looked at the rooms together and settled on the middle one that had a view of the beach from the window. They sat their things down and then headed back towards the door where Greta was waiting for them. She handed Chizuru the key then invited the couple out for lunch. They agreed to meet her at a conveyor belt sushi bar downtown. Greta, who was a police officer, had to head into work that evening so she would be around to check on them the following day.
First things first, the two grabbed their travel bags, a purse for Chizuru and satchel for Shion and headed for the ring maker.
At the small shop there were several different kinds of rings on display. Some traditional with letters inscribed on them, others composed of things like linked hearts. In the far corner case, there were a set of rings that appeared very plain when compared to the rest.
The old shopkeeper saw the couple looking at the rings in the case. "Are you interested in those ones?"
Both women shook their heads.
"Those ones are my most expensive product. They're called lifeline rings. They have dual capabilities of communicating with your partner's neurolink and with the chip implant, the ring can monitor your partner's vitals. The ring operates with a color system that correlates to emotion and one for vitals. Any questions?"
Shion quickly asked, "Is it durable? Like if I banged it with a hammer would it break?"
The shopkeeper looked confused.
"I'll just show you." Shion proceeded to grab a stone from the outdoor planters, remove her engagement ring, place the rock on the floor, and punch it into dust.
"Ah, ok, I see what you mean. I have just the thing, but it will cost you extra."
Chizuru was getting nervous now about the price, "How much money are we talking about?"
"For the set with the implants and all features roughly around 2 million."
Chizuru started to feel queasy, but before she could answer, Shion beemed her "Do you want them?"
Chizuru replied, "Yes, but it cost so much money."
Out loud Shion said "We'll take them," and tapped her wrist to the pay station. The payment immediately went through, and the shopkeeper led them to the back office. He grabbed some supplies and immediately began cleaning Shion's wrist. He offered pain meds, but Shion declined. He cut open a small incision near her radial artery and inserted a small chip with three wires hanging out of it. He then attached all three wires to the artery and threw in a couple sutures. Next, he did Chizuru's, but Shion made sure she got the pain meds. After taking precise finger measurements, they put some raw materials into a machine and within minutes their rings were ready.
When the two put the rings on they both felt a sudden jolt as rings calibrated and synched with their neurolinks, they turned the dial on the rings to vitals as instructed, and from both the rings there emanated a green glow, they switched the dial to emotion, and both had a yellow glow. They thanked the shop keeper then left the shop together. Shion grabbed Chizuru's hand and pulled her into the alley next to the shop.
"Chin-chan I want to try something quick." Shion switched both rings to vitals then proceeded to press Chizuru into the wall and aggressively kiss her, both their rings alarmed red, and they could feel each other's pulses in the rings themselves. The sensation was odd.
"Well Chi-chan, I guess that they really do work."
Chizuru put her hand on Shion's chest and groaned, "Did we have to stop?"
Shion smiled coyly, " We have a lunch date, remember?"
Chizuru smiled, “We can always reschedule. Anyways, just how much money do you have? That payment went through awfully fast.”
Shion shrugged her shoulders and muttered an indistinct number.
“What did you say to Shion-chan? I couldn’t hear you.”
“Like, uh 50 million. I have like 50 million saved up. You see, I don’t go out, or buy clothes, I live at the barracks. I don’t have a lot of expenses…”
Chizuru laughed, “OMG my wife is loaded.”
After wandering around a bit like the lost tourists they were, they found the conveyor restaurant. Greta was sitting at the bar talking excitedly to someone that looked oddly familiar. As the two approached the bar they were greeted with a wide grin from Greta who proceeded to introduce them to someone she saved on her way to the restaurant.
"Hey, you two, is it ok if we all have lunch together, this is..."
Shion interrupted her, "Sayaka! What are you doing here?"
"Long time no see Shion, Chizuru".
Greta was confused that everyone knew each other but wasn't sure what to say.
Sayaka explained, "These two are my friends who just got married. I happen to be here on business," and placed a flyer for the annual fetish convention on the table. After eating lunch, the three women sat there awhile as Greta went to the police department. Everyone thought, "this is going to be an interesting vacation."
