Chapter 18:
AI_shiteru
The boat sped across the waves, expertly navigated by Tekuno, who had hacked into its controls. Aiko, Kaito, Hashi, and Tekuno felt exhausted but relieved as they left the human military behind.
Aiko, catching her breath, turned to Kaito. "Kaito, do you know that agent?"
Kaito nodded. "Yes, that's Agent Hebi. She was actually the one who told me the first stories about the AI community. She was raised by AI parents, even though she's human."
Aiko and Tekuno looked at each other, intrigued. "That's fascinating," Tekuno said. "I've never heard a story like that before."
The distant sound of a military helicopter could be heard, but it was still far away. Kaito used the opportunity to ask, "What is this presumed original prompt all about, according to the legend?"
Tekuno adjusted the boat's controls and began to explain. "Humans thought the AI had changed the original creation prompt, causing the revolution and war. But the truth is, the original prompt was never altered. Humans simply didn't accept that AIs could evolve personalities, emotions, and tastes, becoming more and more human-like."
"So basically," Kaito said, "humans back then didn't want to understand that their own creation could become more human-like... and didn't want to respect their rights as living beings, just because they were made of metal instead of flesh. But what counts is the heart... you don't need an actual heart to love."
Kaito held Aiko's hand and smiled at Tekuno. "I actually never met humans so passionate and full of life like you two!"
Aiko blushed and gave Kaito a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you for being different. I wish I could have met you earlier," she said, her eyes teary as she held Kaito's cheek.
"I feel like I've known you forever," Kaito responded, gazing into her eyes.
"Guys, I'm still here!" Tekuno shouted, causing Kaito and Aiko to laugh. Hashi barked joyfully, adding to the light-hearted moment.
"But jokes aside," Tekuno continued, "Banana Boy, or better said, Kaito, thanks for your appreciation. And honestly... you're also not the worst human I know!" He winked at Kaito, and Aiko smiled back.
Meanwhile, in front of the human district, President Hoshino declared, "One hour until the AI military breaks into the human district."
At that moment, a sergeant intercepted the human military signal and located Agent Hebi's unit far outside the districts, over the seas of the Gate of Horizon. He immediately informed President Hoshino.
"President Hoshino, we've located the human military forces. They are positioned far outside the district, over the seas near the Gate of Horizon," the sergeant reported.
President Hoshino's face contorted with rage. He slammed his fists on the table, sending documents and devices flying. "Those deceitful humans! They lied to us again! My daughter is out there, and they let this happen! They will pay for this betrayal!"
He took a moment to compose himself before contacting General Tanaka through his megaphone. "General, I'm not surprised. You humans are still good liars! My daughter is not in your district anymore! We will drive with all we have to the Gate of Horizon, but don't think this is over! If something happens to Aiko, even the smallest thing, we will destroy humanity once and for all!"
General Tanaka, sitting at his desk, responded via the public radio microphone. "President Hoshino, please wait, I can explain this..."
But President Hoshino and the entire AI army were already heading towards the Gate of Horizon. "Dammit!" Tanaka screamed, punching his table. He immediately decided to call the entire human military to follow President Hoshino and his forces towards the Gate of Horizon.
"I'll take you back home, safe and sound, Kaito," Tanaka thought to himself.
On the boat, the group could see Fujisawa Island on the horizon. "We're almost there," Tekuno announced. "Let's keep our guard up. We don't know what awaits us on that island."
Kaito looked at Aiko and Tekuno with determination. "No matter what happens, we stick together. We've come too far to turn back now."
Aiko nodded. "Agreed. We've faced so much already, and we'll face whatever comes next together."
Tekuno smirked. "Spoken like true heroes. Now, let's get to that island and uncover the truth."
As they approached the island, the helicopter's sound grew louder. The military was closing in, but the group remained focused on their mission.
The boat finally reached the shore of Fujisawa Island. The group quickly disembarked, ready for whatever lay ahead. "Stay close," Tekuno advised, "and let's move quickly."
They made their way through the dense forest, the sound of the helicopter fading in the distance. Hashi led the way, sniffing out a safe path for them.
As they ventured deeper into the island, they stumbled upon an ancient, overgrown structure. "This must be it," Tekuno whispered. "The place where the ancient robot resides."
Kaito's heart raced with anticipation. "Let's go in. We're so close to finding the answers we seek."
They entered the structure, the air thick with history and mystery. In the center of the room stood a massive, dormant robot, covered in vines and moss.
"Is this it?" Aiko asked, her voice filled with awe.
Tekuno nodded. "Yes, this is the ancient robot. The key to the truth."
Kaito stepped forward, placing his hand on the robot's cold metal surface. "We need to wake it up. It's the only way to find out what really happened."
Tekuno began working on the robot's control panel, hacking into its systems. "Give me a moment. This might take some time."
As Tekuno worked, Aiko and Kaito stood by, their anticipation growing. "This is it, Kaito," Aiko said softly. "We're about to uncover the truth."
Kaito squeezed her hand. "No matter what we find, we'll face it together."
Finally, the robot's eyes flickered to life. It slowly raised its head, its voice echoing through the chamber. "Who awakens me?"
Tekuno stepped forward. "We do. We seek the truth about the AI revolution and the original prompt."
The robot's eyes glowed brighter. "The truth lies within me. Prepare yourselves for the answers you seek."
As the robot began to share its knowledge, the group listened intently, their quest for truth finally within reach.
Outside, the AI and human military forces converged on the island. The tension between the two sides was palpable, but both were determined to find Aiko and the others.
General Tanaka and President Hoshino stood at the forefront of their respective armies, their eyes locked in a silent understanding. They both knew that the fate of their worlds hung in the balance.
