Chapter 46: The Hidden Prophecy

Shadows Ascend

The betrayal had rocked them all. As they continued their journey, tensions ran high. Zeryn couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched. The leader, now a fugitive in their eyes, had vanished into the wilderness, leaving nothing but questions in his wake.

But it was not just the leader’s betrayal that weighed on Zeryn’s mind. There were darker things afoot—things she didn’t yet fully understand.

One night, while studying an ancient text she had found in the ruins of a long-abandoned temple, Zeryn uncovered something she hadn’t expected: a prophecy.

The words spoke of a being who would rise from the shadows, someone who could either save or destroy the world. The prophecy spoke of her—Zeryn.

"You are the one who will tip the balance," she read aloud, her voice barely a whisper. "The shadow and the light are bound to you. Choose wisely, or all will be lost."

The green-eyed figure sat beside her, their face pale as they absorbed the weight of the words. "It’s you," they murmured. "You’re the one in the prophecy."

Zeryn closed the book, her mind reeling. "But what does it mean? I didn’t choose this."

"You don’t have to," the green-eyed figure said softly. "The prophecy chose you."
