Chapter 18:
Newton's Empire
I dropped the book on the cell floor. There was a loud clang sound. The eyes and mouth of Leibniz continued to twitch nonstop. It was one thing to make this man live in a tormented existence for the rest of eternity. It was a completely separate thing to steal a man's ideas and pretend that they were your own. Plagiarism, a detestable crime for any true scientist who took themselves seriously. And Newton was the greatest plagiarist of all time. And poor Leibniz had to live in agony forever knowing that Newton had stolen all his ideas.
Suddenly there was a shake in the house. The secret door was being opened. Newton had heard the drop of the book and was now investigating the noise.
[I know what you're thinking. How did my spirit form pick up the book? And seriously, this is your real concern for me right now, My Friend. I have priorities and don't have the time to explain every nuance to you. So if you're ever in fear that something just doesn't make sense, you must accept it wholeheartedly. For now Newton was walking into this dark prison-like place to investigate the noise.]
Newton's body walked right through me. He entered the cell. He looked menacingly at the head of his rival. He picked it up with one hand and gazed right into Leibniz's eyes, and he smiled. A smile with all his teeth showing. A smile that held the most sinister evil a man could ever witness.
But then he looked at the book, which was obviously not in the same place that it had been placed before. He picked it up. And this was the first time I noticed it... The book had permanently been restored to its original condition. A thing until now I didn't know was possible to do with The All Seeing Eye.
Newton threw down the head and book onto the floor.
"Who is there?" Newton looked right in my direction. I knew he couldn't see me, but he knew that there was something odd at work. I could almost hear the gears turn inside the brain of Newton as he tried to deduce the intrusion into his domain.
"Kepler... Is that you? With The All Seeing Eye?"
I gasped out loud. The marvelous brain of Newton had come to the conclusion so quickly. Newton may be a plagiarist, but he had still had thousands of years to gain infinite knowledge.
"Of course he would know about The All Seeing Eye." A grand invention like this would catch the eye of any halfwitted scientist.
No sooner had Newton deduced that it was me; I was back at the tower. My spirit was directly above my physical form. Lady Freud and Athena were still there. It was like no time had passed for them at all while I was gone.
"Get out of here! Both of you." I shouted with my physical body. "Newton is coming to kill me."
Lady Freud's mouth dropped, and Athena looked quite interested in taking part in this upcoming battle. But she wasn't ready yet. She wouldn't be ready for many years. I now knew how to make her a God the same way Newton had. But it wasn't her time yet. I would need to destroy Newton here and now. Would I be able to accomplish such a task?
[My Friend, you're probably wondering how I could possibly defeat Newton. You're saying to yourself, there's no feasible way for me to win right now. My friend, do you not trust in my strength and intelligence? I have not steered you wrong so far, and I won't now. I have everything I need with me to defeat Newton. Every detail and plan has been for this precise moment in time.]
I looked up into space with both of my forms. A golden star streaked down from Heaven. The white, shining wings of my God were spread out in all their glory. The golden chastity belt glistening in the light with perfect brilliance. Newton in all his glory.
Newton flew towards me with incredible speed. His hand shot out and through my chest. He smiled as he tore out my heart. He held it out in front of me as he smiled.
My heartless body smiled back at him. I stepped back. The hole in my chest was now gone. The heart in Newton's hand had now returned to my body. The All Seeing Eye had restored me to life. It was like I had never died.
Newton stepped back. "What trick is this, Kepler? Are we to fight a war of attrition for the rest of time? You cannot kill me. I am immortal. I am a God. Throw down your helmet and I will end you quickly."
"You are immortal. I agree. But that doesn't mean you can't be destroyed."
Yes, Newton was strong. It would be hard to cut him up into pieces like he had done with his former rival. No. The way to defeat someone immortal was to turn them into a pile of dust. Athena had done that.
"Fool. I will just have to kill you one hundred million times to teach you a lesson."
Newton had nothing but time on his hands for this fight. And the damage he could do to my tower and the city would be astronomical. I can't do what I need to do here, obviously.
I reached into my pocket and pulled out Tesla's orb and one more gold plated coil.
Newton stared at the object in contempt. "What an obscure apparatus? Don't make me laugh."
Newton went to grab the orb, but that was a big mistake. As the both of us were touching it, I activated its power.
Now we were both inside the dark space. Newton fell back and looked around in astonishment.
"What is this place, Kepler?"
"This is your final resting place, Newton." I said.
I took out the canister in my other pocket.
"This is blue plasma in case you're wondering. A very destructive energy. In a distant future that hasn't happened yet, you get completely destroyed by it."
And for the first time, Newton looked unsure of himself. He looked afraid.
"Don't be ridiculous!" Newton flew at me with all his speed. He desperately tried to grab the canister, but he forgot I still had The All Seeing Eye. I knew everything he would or could do. I danced around him. I mocked him with a smile as he tried again and again to get a hold of the plasma.
I looked at the giant plasma orb that filled this dark space. The space that I had so come to love. And I knew what I must to. I threw the blue canister as hard as I could towards the large orb. Then I smiled one last smile as I left the dark space. Either Newton would die in the resulting explosion or would be trapped forever in this dark realm.
I had indeed found a way to defeat Newton, but as I came back to my dark tower, there was a completely different terror waiting above me in space.
A red portal was opening up in the fabric of space and there was a huge tentacled monster arm making its way right towards my tower.
