Chapter 0:

Prologue

Heart and Machinery

The year is 2035,The world has been developing at a rapid pace. Humans have developed many things over the past few years. Many things previously considered impossible can now be found easily on the streets.

High, shimmering glass buildings are on either side of the road which now not only treads on the ground, many roads are floating, you could say fly-over. Bright neon blue lights illuminate the streets at night with their bright lights on the road lines and curbs, protected by road dividers.
Do you think that there will be flying cars in the future? Approaching flying cars. Cars no longer have wheels, they seem to float on the road. Using electromagnetic technology, cars can now move smoothly, no longer shaking or making loud noises because they are now powered by electricity.
Are you also wondering how to generate so much electricity for these cars? No need to worry. The sun provides it using solar cells found on building glass, the glass is able to absorb solar heat and convert it into electricity. Isn't that great?Maybe it's time to stop discussing infrastructure. There are still many things in the future. Mobile phones that we no longer hold in our hands, because they have no shape. That's right, smartphones are now holograms, you just need to have a small tool like a stick, press, and a hologram of your mobile phone will appear. So how do you make a call? Pfft, no more need to put your ear close or show your face very close. Now using holograms, you can see the real, 1:1 scale in front of you.
Not only that, clothing that adjusts to your body temperature keeps you comfortable on hot days and cold snow days. Printers that can create 3-dimensional items. Transparent television screens, refrigerators that can cool things with biopolymer gel. An aeroplane that can never crash. Cameras that allow you to take pictures of far away places, even the moon with great resolution. Computer brains that are now only the size of a fingernail, and advertisements that show the shape of the original item if we press the image.
It all sounds very exciting doesn't it? Easier? The development of technology is no less than anything else. The development of nanotechnology, which was previously considered impossible, is now realised, so that you can clone objects, even.... living things with great accuracy and.... ‘work’. Universal Translator, a technology that allows you to understand every language of people from all over the world.Up to....Avatars, Artificial Intelligence, Robots are being developed at a rapid pace these days. With A.I. and robots, all work can be done easily with little risk of accidents.
Medicine, done accurately by robots, is 10 times safer than the world's greatest surgeons. Calculations that should have been completed in a very long time, can be completed in just one month by A.I. Every commercial worker, cashier, waiter, they all use robots that can be hired easily.
Are you saying it's making humans lazier? Not really. Humans are evolving by creating new jobs. Now there are no more hard jobs, you can only stay at home and earn money. Everything is easy, easy. That's right, before.... before them.... scientists and state officials were getting greedy... creating something they shouldn't have created.
They combined technological development with the military. Of course, it is undeniable that now, any country that lags behind in technology will be consumed by the times. They can't fight the power of a country that has developed far away from them. Technology changes everything.Computer-driven aircraft, drones. Killing more than piloted fighters, they are remotely controlled without the need to use a pilot so it is safe for the controller. Armed with machine guns, they can work in any condition and any terrain.
Hypersonic missiles, which are missiles with speeds of up to Mach 20 or the equivalent of 21,000 km/h, can be launched from sea, air or land. The range is so long, you can shoot from the north pole to the south in just a few hours.

Battles with difficult terrain and increasingly deadly enemy forces do not deny the need for combat clothing for ground personnel. Now there is a battlesuit or combat suit made of mixed materials, but it is also equipped with a prosthetic-arm that makes it easier for you to move your muscles with its help. You can walk hundreds of kilometres carrying a rocket launcher without shedding a single drop of sweat. You can also survive nuclear radiation and enemy bombs that explode on you.
Ground personnel weapons, or infantry, are not to be outdone by other combat tools. Railgun weapons use electric waves that can fire using electromagnetic power capable of destroying buildings to cities in one shot. They are huge, those cannons.Up to personnel weapons. You can even make weapons in your own garage now, using 3D printers and making your own bullets. Personnel weapons haven't evolved much, at best, they're now developing laser rifles. Although they are banned by convention. Who knows...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We're done explaining how the future will look like. Everything is easier and more fun. Indeed, I felt it too. Right, before everything happened, before.... something was invented.
Humans, they fear the death they will face. Increasingly, they don't want to fight with themselves. They want someone to replace them for the goals they want to achieve. Thus, the Battle-Frame was created. They are robotic combatants made with one purpose in mind, to fight and kill. Scientists implanted a chip in them to do what they wanted. So without fear of defection.
Arming these robots, what can I say, they don't look like robots. Whether it was a fetish or a whim of the creators, they were all in the shape of a girl. Having a LED as an eye that only contained the commands they had to carry out, having no emotions or feelings, moving according to the code.
Even though each Battle-Frame was killed, broken, or scattered. They can still build them one by one. Without the need to train or recruit people like a normal military, you yourself can see the factory where their bodies move on a crane completely naked. Put in a liquid, given some objects I don't recognise, armed, until a chip is inserted that is their brain and a core for their battery.
Warfare ensued, this time not for territory, or power. They, the humans, had dug deep into the earth and discovered a powerful resource embedded deep in the bowels of the earth. Red Ember they called it. A strange rock of fiery red colour. The rock, Red Ember, could provide so much power that it could power an entire city and its facilities non-stop for decades.Country after country fought over the Red Ember for their own interests. Destroying city after city, mobilising troops after troops, releasing missile after missile endlessly until leaving a beautiful world like heaven, now only a field filled with rubble.
Not only that, but thanks to the mistake of the scientist who thought the Red Ember could be used as a core for the Battle-Frame, another problem arose. The machines, they are now turning against each other.
The humans who once ruled them, they now hunted down one by one, they fought day by day to kill the remaining humans after the war. So now, humans can hide in the darkness of the cave, the darkness of the world, away from the red light, the light of the robots and A.I. that once obeyed them.
The world fell into despair, humans on the brink of extinction, leaving behind the world they once lived in.Now ruled by their own creations, merciless creatures.
