Chapter 292:

Baron Buster Blitzhölle

En Passant Grandmaster

"GAH!" Diederich shouted as he staggered back and coughed up some blood.

Okisato had just captured the bishop at f3 with his g-pawn, yet even he was shocked at Diederich's behavior. "Oi, I know he's a chuuni, but pretending to hack up blood too!? Guy's insane!"

"Seems Volkner has fallen, thus, I'll make a tactical retreat," Diederich stated as he turned and marched alongside his queen to d7.

Okisato was a tad frustrated, but not because of Diederich. Rather it was his position as now he was still at a slight disadvantage, but well within drawing territory.

"I don't want to draw. Sure, it may be good for the team to draw Prussia, but I want to crush him," Okisato thought as he moved his queen to e2.

Diederich then ordered his bishop to fly to e7, while Okisato went on the attack by moving his knight to c5. Yet Diederich simply moved his queen to d5, making the game dead even.

"My grandfather couldn't even get a draw against you, so if I achieve at least that, I'm better than him," Diederich maliciously chuckled.

This was frustrating for Okisato. While a draw was now guaranteed barring no blunders, Diederich had the mental game down pat. Not only would a draw boost his ego, but it would deflate Okisato's a bit as it would mean he'd have fallen for Diederich's trap.

Visible frustration began to show on Okisato's face as he moved his bishop to e4, a rarity considering how stone-faced he normally is when not in chunni mode. Yet it appeared that the bigger chunni was winning the day as Diederich continued the draw line by capturing the knight at c5, forcing Okisato to capture the pawn at b7 with his bishop if he hoped to just get a draw.

"You sure look miserable, so what is it? Upset I'm far more strategic than you thought? This was the plan from the start," Diederich taunted as he marched with his pawn to d3.

Okisato merely shook his head and moved his queen to e3.

"A shame Volkner botched it, but he'll be the one getting chewed out for his failure. But a draw is still a point and not the end of the world," Diederich shrugged with a smirk, as he knocked aside the pawn at c2 with his queen.

Once again, Okisato refused to engage in conversation, silently moving his bishop to d2.

"Tch, well draws are boring in the sense. I'll await the repetition," Diederich scoffed as his king moved to f8 with the flick of his wrist.

Okisato stared at the board in silence, until suddenly a maniacal grin appeared on his face and he slammed his a-rook down on c1.

"Hoh? Trying to use a rook against me? I like that face of yours... Very well, I can understand you just fine... TO DEATH DO WE BATTLE!" Diederich shouted as he picked up his queen and hurled it at the pawn on b2, destroying it in an electrifying mushroom cloud.

Lightning flashed as an Okisato, now renewed with vigor fought on by capturing the rook at a8, causing Diederich to shout in pain and twirl around before regaining his gusto.

"Bold, but I can win even without rooks!" Diederich proclaimed as his pawn slammed down on c6 with a strike of lightning.

"Then I'll just open fire on your queen!" Okisato thought as he slid his rook to b1.

But Diederich brushed aside the threat and landed with his bishop on g5.

"And... I just take!" Okisato thought as his grin widened and he captured the bishop at g5 with his queen.

Diederich once again coughed up blood and spun around before his grin widened and he slammed down on d4 with his queen. "You fell for it! Thunder queen valkirye fork attack!"

The statement finally got some noise out of Okisato as he was unable to contain his laughter. "Oh, what an IDIOT!" he thought as he slid his bishop to e3.

"YOUR DOOM IS HERE!" Diederich shouted as he zapped away to d6 with his queen.

"No.. IT'S YOUR DOOM, BA-KA!" Okisato thought as he slammed his bishop down on c5.

A bead of sweat trickled down Diederich's face, yet he gritted his teeth and wiped it aside as his pawn leapt into the air and slammed down on f6 with a thud. "Seems we got into it, but the strategy still remains intact.

"Huh? You have a strategy? That's rich, so what is it?" Okisato snickered.

Diederich's eyes widened as he turned to see Okisato gazing down at him from the white end of the board. "Hoh? You finally speak?"

"Yeah, cuz I can put you in CHECK!" Okisato grinned as he captured the queen at d6 with his bishop.

This time, Diederich shouted in pain and launched himself into the air, landing on the ground with a thud and rolling around for a bit before grinning and getting back to his feet.

"I don't need a queen to kill you, for I have my steed!" Diederich shouted as his knight came galloping towards him. He hopped atop it and flashily rode it around before stopping at e7.

"Wow, guess it's horse season," Okisato thought as he slammed his h-rook down on e1.

"FOOL! YOUR QUEEN IS DEAD! REVOLT MY SERF! BEHEAD THE BITCH!" Diederich shouted as his f-pawn summoned a sword of lightning and sliced the queen at g5 with it, destroying it in an explosion of lightning, so great, Okisato seemingly shielded his eyes from it.

Yet his sadistic smile remained as he launched his attack, sending his rook flying towards the knight at e7 and Diederich who rode atop it. The impact sent Diederich tumbling around before he angrily got to his feet and called forth his other knight, riding it to a6.

"What is this!? I can't be losing! I'm Diederich von Richthofen, future ruler of the German Empire of Prussia! My strategy is flawless!"

"Oh, just one more move, then I can lay into him. Wonder how he feels about getting destroyed by the rooks he praises so much?" Okisato thought as he moved his b-rook to b7.

Red Reaper began to grit his teeth in fury as he watched Diederich desperately order his pawn to d2. "Diederich... DIEDERICH... DU IDIOTISCHER SCHEISSKERL [YOU IDIODIC SHITHEAD]!" he angrily thought.

"No, this can't be! I can't lose!" Diederich scowled as his fist began to tremble.

"But you are. And it'll be with the rook too. Come to think of it, I don't think you even moved a rook once this game! Talk about pathetic," Okisato taunted as he moved his rook to e1.

"P- 'Pathetic'!? DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM!? I AM DIEDERICH VON RICHTHOFEN! GRANDSON OF KAISER RED REAPER FREDERICK VON RICHTHOFEN! SON OF COUNCILER OTTO VON RICHTHOFEN! ÜBERMENSCH OF THE FATHERLAND! AND FUTURE KAISER OF THE GLORIOUS GERMAN EMPIRE OF PRUSSIA! I'M SUPERIOR TO MY GRANDFATHER! I'M SUPERIOR TO YOU! I'M SUPERIOR TO ALL!" Diederich shouted at the top of his lungs as he landed on g8 with his king and let loose a burst of crimson lightning from himself, enveloping the whole chessboard in it.

"Oh? Then how about I enlighten you," Okisato snickered as he suddenly appeared on the board behind Diederich.

Diederich went pale and turned as Okisato slowly walked to e8 with rook in hand.

"When I played the Baron Buster gambit against your undead grandpa, I beat him in 45 moves. You're about to lose in 29, and you call yourself an Übermensch. Checkmate, BA-KA!" Okisato maniacally shouted as he arrived on e8 with his rook and aimed it at Diederich and the king, firing a mighty blast.

Diederich's eyes widened as the ball of energy sped towards him. With a mighty explosion of blue energy, Diederich lost consciousness and hacked up a bucket of blood as he flew back, crashing into any tables and chessboards in his wake, sending pieces flying everywhere.

Okisato stared in disbelief. In reality, Diederich was hurling himself into tables and chessboards, disrupting them, all while hacking up saliva.

"Well that's dedication... STUPID dedication," he thought as Diederich finally came to a halt and passed out for real as he lay flat on his back.

Thanks to Okisato, Japan had won the match 2.5-1.5.
