Chapter 28:
Sora no Kiseki: A Bittersweet Return to the Stars
On the morning of the cultural festival, Class 2-B's classroom was filled with special excitement. For their maid café preparations, the blackboard proudly displayed the elegant text "Angel's Smile" as their shop name.
"Everyone, final costume check!" Ume called out, and the girls began heading to the changing room. The elegant maid uniforms with black lace trim had been designed under Ume's supervision.
"Alright, Ren! You're next!" Ume approached Ren with a mischievous smile, holding up the male version of the maid uniform. "Ugh..." Ren hesitated for a moment but, remembering his promise to Sora, stood up with a deep sigh. "Fine... I'll do my best, in my own way."
After a while, Ume emerged first. Her sexy black maid uniform drew cheers from the boys. "Fufu, this is what a real maid looks like♪" Ume struck a confident pose.
Right after, Sora appeared in a pure white maid uniform. The maid cap perfectly complemented her black twin tails, giving her an angelic radiance. "Ehehe, how do I look?" "T-Too cute...!" Takashi collapsed with a nosebleed. Other members of the Guard Squad quickly began taking photos.
Finally, Ren stepped out sheepishly, and the classroom fell silent, stunned by how surprisingly well the maid outfit suited him. "W-What is it...?" As Ren blushed, Ume grinned. "My, my~ You're surprisingly cute♪" "Ren-kun, it really suits you!" Sora innocently hugged him. "Wah! S-Stop that...!"

When they opened for business, the classroom quickly became lively, and "Angel's Smile" truly lived up to its name, filling the room with joy and laughter.
Ume stood at the center of the counter, carrying special cakes and making eye contact with each customer, serving them with a gentle voice. "Master, here's your special cake♡" Male customers would blush bright red at her sexy wink, hurriedly thanking her as they accepted their orders. "Really, the boys in this class are such pushovers." While thinking this to herself, Ume continued her polite service with a smile playing at her lips.
Ren awkwardly took orders at the edge of the counter. Though clearly embarrassed in his unfamiliar maid uniform, this very awkwardness was winning over the female customers. "H-Here's your cake and tea..." As Ren shyly presented the plate, one of the female customers blushed happily and said: "Thank you, Ren-kun! It really suits you!" "...Just eat it." Despite his clumsy service style, female customers gradually began gathering, and repeat customers specifically requesting Ren increased.
Sora bounced lightly around the classroom, cheerfully talking to each customer. "Wow, what a cute outfit!" When a customer complimented Sora's maid uniform, she responded with a radiant smile. "Ehehe, thank you! Let's take a picture next!" "Can I be in it too?" "Of course!" When cameras were pointed at her, Sora would strike innocent poses, spreading warmth throughout the room.
"Did you make this, Sora-chan?" asked a customer at a table, taking a bite of cake. "Yes! I made it with Ume-chan! I'd be so happy if you think it's delicious♪" The customer couldn't help but smile at her response and took another bite. "It's really delicious! Thank you!" "Yay!" Sora clapped her hands happily and gave a little jump. This gesture once again wrapped the entire classroom in a gentle warmth.
"Angel's Smile" truly lived up to its name, with Ume's alluring service making boys blush, Ren's endearing awkwardness making girls' hearts flutter, and Sora's natural charm bringing everything together in perfect harmony.

In the afternoon, sudden commotion erupted outside the classroom. "The Chairman is here!" At this voice from the hallway, the entire class fell silent for a moment.
The next instant, the Chairman entered the classroom majestically, followed by a group of butlers. His expensive suit and stern expression embodied the same dignity he usually showed at school events. However, the moment his eyes found Sora, that dignity completely crumbled.
"SORA---!" His voice rose with excitement, his face breaking into a broad smile.
"Grandpa!?"
"Our Sora is the cutest! You've done so well, I'm proud of you!" Classmates were dumbfounded by this complete transformation. Various reactions began flying around the classroom.
"W-What is this scene... So butlers really do exist." "As flashy an entrance as ever, I see." Ume glanced at the Chairman and sighed lightly.
"I'll buy all the cakes! And then..." The Chairman clapped his hands, and butlers began streaming into the classroom, carrying luxurious rose decorations.
"Eh, what's this!? Wait a minute!" Sora rushed over in panic, but the butlers continued their work, rapidly transforming the classroom's atmosphere from "maid café" to "luxurious palace."
"Grandpa, please stop! This is supposed to be a normal café!" Sora pulled on the Chairman's arm, pleading with concern. "Grandpa, please. You're troubling everyone."
Her voice carried a dignified ring different from her usual innocence. The Chairman flinched for a moment, but noticing Sora's serious gaze, shrugged slightly. "Hmm... Perhaps I did go overboard. But seeing you work so hard made me too happy!"
"Thank you. But the cultural festival is something everyone should enjoy together!" As Sora smiled gently, the Chairman resignedly ordered the butlers to withdraw. "Withdraw! But leave these roses! They suit Sora perfectly!" "Grandpa!" The Chairman just shrugged with a smile at Sora's protest.
---
As evening approached and service finally calmed down. "Good work!" Ume called out, and Sora responded with an innocent smile. "Yeah! It was fun♪ I'm so happy I got to make cakes with Ume-chan!" Though tired, Ren sat in a chair with a small smile. "Well... it wasn't a bad experience." Ren glanced around the classroom's bustle, a slight smile playing at his lips.
By the window, the gray kitten Ten quietly watched over everything. Takashi and others secretly began working on an "Angel's Smile Photo Collection," which, thanks to its mysterious charm and the inexplicably ethereal quality of its photos, would later become one of the school's seven mysteries. "Classes tomorrow definitely won't be quiet," Ume sighed. "Eh? Why?" No one could answer Sora's innocent question, and classmates couldn't help but exchange knowing glances. In the classroom bathed in sunset light, laughter spread from somewhere, becoming the sound that concluded their cultural festival day.
