Chapter 3

*beep**beep**beep* its now 6am at the alarm clock, ringing.

"ughh.. Its now morning.. Another day.." leo said as he sits up straight, and stretches a bit. "whats on my schedule now?" he said before he checks his phone

On his phone, its now a tuesday, and his schedule for the morning is to do some light workout with his dumbells. Then after that, he goes down his house, where his mother was preparing breakfast for them.

"let me help mom." leo said after he arrived at the kitchen

In the kitchen, there was the mother, flower rivera, and 48 years old.

"oh! Thanks always dear!" flower said, as she prepares the ingredients

"hey mom, are you mad at yesterday?" leo said, as he puts on the apron

"nope. You already explained yourself after all, and has done the right thing, right?" flower said as she now cuts the ingredients

"yes, i did what i think was right, and he was the one who attacked first." leo said, as he prepares the table

"then its alright. Im not mad, just worried. If you might--" she said before she was cut off

"yes mom, i know. And i will be careful of my actions." leo said before he finished putting everything at the table

"just saying my part though." she said as shes still preparing the ingredients

"hello world! Im here and awake!" a voice came from the stairs

"hey ruby! Morning there!" leo said as he stood straight

"hey bro! Hey mom!" ruby said as she now appears from the stairs, as she was still in middle school

"are you ready for school ruby?" the mother said, as she stops for a minute to face towards ruby

"yes mom. And boy im starving!" ruby said as she now sat on her chair. "hey bro! The news about you is everywhere! And my classmates say that you were cool, to stand up against a bully."

Leo was now heading back to the kitchen area to now cook with the mother.

"yeah.. Thats me. Though i can only say that what i did, i did what i think was right, no question about that." leo said as he started the fire

"say.. From all the advancements of todays world, why are we still in the stone age?" ruby said nonchalantly

"nothing beats good old fashion cooking ruby, dont forget that." flower said, making a point. "like your brother said before. Now study there while waiting, if you don’t have anything else to do."

“yes mom.” ruby said as she resign herself to her books.

“anyways, just when will dad wake up?” leo said while cooking

“hes just fine, let him sleep for a while. Hes still tired from all the research we made last night.” flower said, as she waits until the food is cooked

“yeah.. maybe same as always. You know the drill.” ruby said as she studies

By then, flower also went to taste the food, to see if its done.

“alright! Food is ready!” flower said, after tasting.

The three of them then ate breakfast, and left the house afterwards. Where hes just one of those who live in a neighborhood filled with houses, a bit away from the city and school. And his only means of transportation, is taking the bus. But as this is now the future, they are riding a flying bus towards the school, where they will always pass thru air traffic within the city.

Then as leo arrives, he then puts on the hood of his jacket, and walks into the crowd of students going to school. But when he arrives at the school gates, he then saw that lica was waiting for him.

"hi leo! Good morning!" lica said, as she noticed leo at the distance and waved at him

"i guess its no use hiding." leo said before he took his hood off, with a smile

They both then walked towards their classroom, where both of them were also the talk of the whole school, in a good way. Leo, the cute guy and being the talk of the town, and the pretty madonna of their class. The whole class even greeted them, specially the girls, and all except brain, as he sits alone. And leo was seated by the window, at the corner of the room, away from the door.

Then during lunch break..

"is mr leo here?!" an upperclassman said, as after he opened the door

The class then turned their eyes on leo, who was happily chatting with lica, until they showed up. The upperclassmen of 3 people, which tells they were from a martial arts club.

"what can i do for you guys?" leo said at the distance, as he was still sitting, and them walking towards him

"please join the karate club!" the guy in the middle said, as he extends his hand to him for affirmation

"uhh.. I already decided not to join any clubs. Sorry." leo said as he immediately replies

"are you really sure? You wont change your mind?" one of the 3 said, in a kind of desparate plea

"yes, im sure. Because i want to relax after school." leo said

"damn it!" the middle guy said as he resigns himself

"i told you guys he might not join." the other guy also said while consoling the middle one

"then, can you also have a go with the student council?" said another guy with glasses who suddenly appears at the door. "with your skills and wit, i think you might benefit most with us." he said as he and a girl walks towards leo.

"as i said, i wont join any club, so that includes the student council." leo said, a bit annoyed and suspicious

"my name is theo raven, the student council president. i have done my research about you, so why dont we make a deal." theo said, as he now tries to negotiate through blackmail

"how much do you know?" leo said, now serious

"not all, but would you like to let them all know?" theo said, with a sinister smile

"hey leo, whats he talking about?" lica said, now a bit afraid

"dont worry lica, even if he knows my past, doesnt mean i will join them." leo said, reassuring her

"hahh.. Alright, lets do it like this. If the karate club wins against you, you will have to choose a club to join. If you win, then you get to have your way." theo said

"thats not enough to convince me im afraid." leo said, sure of himself

"alright then. I will also promise to be your ally, whenever the time may come." theo said

"and when will that be?" leo said

"how about adding that you will always be favored by the student council for all your endeavors?" theor said

"look.. Im already at peace here, and i desire no fame nor fortune, as i already have what i need." leo said

"in the first place, why are you so adamant in recruiting leo?" lica said

"thats because, from the moment i heard of rumors of you, i couldnt stand by as waste talent such as yours." theo said

"i think there is more to what your saying, i can feel it." lica said, being suspicious and all

All of them were now very curious as to what theo really thinks, as a quietness enveloped the room.

"hahh.. Fine." theo said before he looks away, blushing a bit. "im now a 3rd year, and i need someone with skill and wit to replace me when the time comes."

"so you are saying that you too are desperate, right?" the guy in the middle said

"yes, thats right." theo said

"well, given that there is currently no one in line, which might match your strengths." one of the guys said as theo agrees

"in the first place, why leo?" lica said, curious

"because i feel that hes nothing like the others." theo said seriously

"i can relate." lica said which everyone also agrees

"so, what will it be mr leo? The president himself has just reached out to you personally." rena said, as she also approached leo at the side

"hahh.. Fine. If i win, i will have my way. But if i lose, i will have to choose a club to join. Would that be all?" leo said, before he stood to make a handshake

"and we will have the fight, after school, and using any type of martial art." the middle guy said

"yes. Certainly." theo said, as he receives the handshake

"alright! See you in the ring! And thats a promise!" the middle guy said, before he and the other 2 guys exits.

"if i may ask, why did you agree mr leo?" theo said, curious

"just felt like it, i guess.." leo said, with a smile

"i guess thats fair." theo said, before he exits as well

"so leo, do you have a chance at them?" lica said, linking his arms with hers

"maybe, maybe not.. Lets just see." leo said, as the fight looms near
