Chapter 25:
Gamers: Genesis
DARO
(shocked)
It's the magic that commands the light.
Tayo's veins begin to glow, starting from his hands. He is now completely in a trance. Daro is startled. He tries to pry the sword from Tayo's lap, but it burns his hands.
HIRO
What are you doing?
DARO
His energy is being drained. He'll die if we don't take the sword.
Daro activates lightning around himself and this time successfully pries the professor's sword from Tayo. Tayo's glowing veins dim and return to normal slowly, and all the gathered light, which is a lot, ascends rapidly. Then Tayo collapses unconscious.
Hiro checks him. He's still alive. Daro stares at the sword and at Tayo with awe.
DARO
I should have guessed.
HIRO
His health is low.
DARO
He can't use the sword yet.
Suddenly a gust of powerful wind hits them, separating them from one another. It even knocks out Henry.
Daro looks up at the sky and sees Gotar riding the wind. Another blast rushes at him. He dodges and gets to Tayo's unconscious body underneath the dense trees. He picks it and gives it to Hiro who is close by.
DARO
Give this to him.
He hands his own sword over to Hiro.
DARO
Take Henry and get out of here.
HIRO
We can help.
DARO
No. I'll buy some time and catch up. Go.
Close by we see Gotar's minions pouring rapidly out of a portal, which also suddenly begins to close. It finally does close as a lanba is about to come through splitting it in half.
Daro begins fighting Gotar. As he does Hiro finds Henry and wakes him up.
HENRY
What happened?
HIRO
It's the boss. We have to go.
HENRY
What about Daro?
HIRO
He said he'll catch up.
A goblin jumps out at them. Henry cuts it down with his spear. He runs in Daro's direction, but two kilobons intercept him. Seeing no other choice, he turns back.
Daro jumps to Gotar's height and brings him down. He is using his spear and the professor's sword.
DARO
I never thought I would see you away from your cave. You were always so timid.
GOTAR
(beast speech)
Times change and so does authority. Address me by my proper title now, god-slayer.
Daro understands what he's saying as he is familiar with the speech. He is undaunted by it though. Gotar charges at him.
EXT. FOREST, EALAO - SAME TIME
Henry is now carrying Tayo as they are running up, away from the valley. Hiro is shooting Gotar's monsters that approach.
EXT. NEAR A ROCK PILLAR - LATER
Gotar is flying again, attacking with wind from the sky as his minions swarm Daro. Daro now has an arrow sticking from his back.
He looks around him and sees Hiro staring at him from afar. They lock eyes. She looks away to parry an attack from a goblin. Gotar floats above Daro.
GOTAR
Greet Ea for me.
Daro charges electricity on his spear and then starts to climb up one of the rock pillar formations. He dodges Gotar's attacks on his way. The varieties of Gotar's minions are following him up too.
At the top of the rock formation he charges his body with lightning. The wind from Gotar, shaped like blades, blasts him from all sides but he manages to stay up despite his injury. He is gaining a couple more injuries as Gotar's wind intensifies.
Holding his spear and the professor's sword he says something, which is unfortunately inaudible because of the sound of the wind and thunder.
EXT. FOREST, EALAO - CONTINUOUS
Henry and Hiro are on horses now. Hiro is riding with Tayo who is still unconscious. An armored lanba is chasing them, Hiro's arrows have no effect on it. She can't hit an unprotected spot while holding on to Tayo and riding a horse. Meanwhile Henry is stabbing the goblins around them, when all of a sudden they see lightning and hear thunder from where Daro is.
EXT. TOP OF ROCK PILLAR, EALAO - CONTINUOUS
Daro's body is gradually changing into lightning itself. The professor's sword begins to levitate and then ascends at mach speeds into the sky.
Daro's body completely disintegrates into lightning which causes the rock formation to collapse on Gotar's minions and the lightning also strikes Gotar down.
EXT. FOREST, EALAO - CONTINUOUS
Henry and Hiro see the lightning. They've defeated the goblins, only the armored lanba is left. Henry see his opportunity, just as it is about to cut them off, Henry leaps from his horse and impales the lanba.
He gets back on his horse. They keep galloping as the dead monsters behind them disintegrate and evaporate.
HIRO
It's this way.
They make a sharp turn as storm clouds gather up above.
