Ruler of the Stars: Part 2

She's interrupted by the sound of an explosion shaking the building. It's from a distance away.

HIRO
Was that you?

Taiyo shakes his head.
Henry and Brando appear from around the corner, running towards them. Other people have begun to hurry up also as panic takes hold of the city. Smoke rises in the distance.

HIRO
What happened?
HENRY
Those greedy bastards went after the boss themselves. Do you have your weapons?

Hiro leaves the window and goes into the house.
Tayo looks in the direction of the chaos.

TAYO
That's where the tourists stay.

NPCs and gamers are running away from a kilobon. Hiro, now back at the window, shoots it. Tayo girds himself as it approaches, preparing himself for the clash. Hiro shoots it again.
It still keeps coming. She then shoots it once more and it finally collapses.

HENRY
Everyone's leaving.
TAYO
But there still some people there, right?

Henry goes into the house with Brando. Tayo ponders on what he should do. A fireball rains down close to him. He remembers Guy's falling body. He steels himself.
Hiro comes out of the house with a bag.

HIRO
The general is almost here. We'll come back and kill this thing.

Tayo grips his sword (Daro's sword) tighter.

HENRY (O.S.)
Catch.

Tayo catches a bag that Henry had tossed at him. He drops it on the floor.

TAYO
You guys go on. Let me check out the situation.

Henry jumps outside the house from the balcony, while Brando walks out through the door.

HENRY
No, not advisable. We'll stick with the general's plan a bit longer.
TAYO
I'll be careful.
HENRY
No Ray. Let's meet up with the general.
TAYO
There are people I could help. I won't do anything crazy. You guys head out.

Tayo takes off in the direction of the carnage leaving Hiro, Brando and Henry behind.

HENRY
What the... We aren't diamonds yet.
BRANDO
What do we do now?

Henry sighs.

HENRY
We follow him. Hiro?
HIRO
Let's go.

EXT. STREET, DENI - DAY
Tayo is running faster and faster. He encounters some goblins on his way. They are chasing people. He cuts them down little hesitation. He runs towards an armored kilobon who is overpowering a gamer.

TAYO
I can do this. I can do this.

Tayo engages the kilobon, thereby rescuing the gamer. As the clash goes on with the kilobon, he tries to aim for the gaps in its armor with little success. This kilobon though smaller than usual compensates by being fast. Tayo hasn't gotten cut though, the training with Daro paid off.
He gets kicked on the arm by the kilobon in full armor. He's scared he might have broken his arm but it's perfectly fine. He moves it around.

TAYO
Focus Tayo, focus.

Tayo's body ever so slightly begins to glow and thunder rumbles up above. He rushes at the kilobon to deliver direct blow with his sword. The kilobon smiles and makes the decision to take it head on which would prove to be a fatal mistake, because what Tayo's blow delivered wasn't just sword strike but with it came lightning from above.

When the sparks clear the kilobon is dead and disintegrating and at the point of the strike is the Professor's sword, the sword of light. Tayo is out of breath. He picks up the sword. Now he holds two swords.

TAYO
Where's everyone?
GAMER 3F
They are still fighting over there.

Tayo cuts down a monster bird.

TAYO
Where's Frank?
GAMER 3F
He's dead.
TAYO
Help as many people as you can get away.

With that Tayo runs deeper in the direction of the chaos.

EXT. STREET, DENI - LATER
Brando looks worried about something. Actually he is worried about Jim who arrived in Deni a day ago. Hiro is busy firing arrows.

BRANDO
Henry. Keep a look out for Jim.
HENRY
What?
BRANDO
Keep a look out for Jim, he arrived here yesterday.
HENRY
Shit! Why didn't you tell me?

EXT. BEHIND DENI'S GATES - DAY
Jim is terrified. He is kneeling down along with other gamers and NPCs. Gotar strides in front of them fully armored. Three other armored and armed kilobons are standing by.

GOTAR
Where is the holy warrior?

He stabs an NPC dead.

GOTAR
Where is the warrior of light?

Gotar surveys the people in front of him and eventually points his sword at a gamer next to Jim's NPC girlfriend. Gotar is about to stab her when Jim stands up.

JIM
Please don't hurt us. We are just tourists, we don't want, we are not players, we don't know what you're talking about.

Gotar still goes ahead to cut the gamer down, despite Jim's intervention. Jim is horrified. Gotar walks up to Jim.

GOTAR
You don't know? Then of what use are you to me?
JIM
No, please, don't.

Gotar raises his sword ready to strike Jim.

EXT. BEHIND DENI'S GATES - SAME
While running, Tayo arrives at the gates a distance away from where Gotar is, he is armed with the sword of light. Daro's sword is sheathed. He has to stop, he is out of breath. The lightning he brought down is taking a toll on him. He may know how to use lightning magic now but his magic power reserve is low.

As he catches his breath, he unfortunately has to witness Gotar cut down the gamer. As he struggles to regain his composure he watches Gotar approach Jim. He is too far Jim is about to die, he wills himself with all his might to move. He moves to take a step and suddenly,

the world around him slows down. As his feet touches the ground, he has covered several meters, over half the distance to Gotar. Then he takes another and reaches Gotar parrying his strike, preventing him from killing Jim. Gotar steps back.
Tayo staggers from performing this feat, his hands are trembling a bit. Tayo takes Daro's sword and shoves it into Jim's hands.

TAYO
Go!

Jim gets up and some other people follow suit and they begin to try to escape.

EXT. STREET, DENI - CONTINUOUS
Henry and Hiro arrive at the location where Tayo was before and help take down a kilobon. 

The gamer Tayo saved is still there also, guiding and protecting lots of already injured Gamers. Brando sifts through them, while shouting Jim's name.
It's complete and utter chaos almost like the massacre at the amphitheater.

HENRY
Have you seen a tall black guy, a player pass here?

The person he's asking has no idea.

HENRY
He had a sword, he didn't have any armor on.

The gamer Tayo saved overhears Henry's question.

GAMER 3F
He went ahead.

A hoard of goblins led by a kilobon emerges from a bend in the road ahead.

HIRO
Let's go.
HENRY
Go on ahead. I'll take care of these and join you.

She looks at the chaos. They would need help.

HIRO
Okay.

She puts on her hoodie and turns almost invisible to Henry's eyes.
Henry turns around and prepares to face the hoard with the other gamers when he notices a green vial sticking out of the pouch of the disintegrating kilobon.
A goblin attacks, he parries it and jumps to retrieve the vial. His breathing becomes a bit heavy.

EXT. BEHIND DENI'S GATES - CONTINUOUS
Tayo is holding the professor's sword, the sword of light while facing Gotar. He is trying desperately to steady his breathing. Jim on the other hand has drawn Daro's sword and is facing the kilobon blocking his way. Around them are a few gamers who couldn't escape.

GOTAR
So you are the warrior of light. Hand over the sword and I'll spare your life.
