Ruler of the Stars: Part 3

GOTAR
So you are the warrior of light. Hand over the sword and I'll spare your life.
TAYO
Not my life. If you release everyone from the game, I'll--
GOTAR
Game? This is our reality, our life and death. This is no game.
TAYO
Yes, if you release us from this world, I'll give you the sword.
GOTAR
Unfortunately, I do not have that power. But I have the key to the next realm.

He brings out a bejeweled key from his pouch.

GOTAR
Give me the sword and you can have it.
TAYO
Let me speak to the one that can set us free.
GOTAR
If it's death you want, I can give you myself.

Gotar moves to strike, Tayo dodges. The kilobons attack Tayo. He manages to cut down one allowing some more tourists to run away. Then he confronts Gotar in close range avoiding his wind blasts.

TAYO
Why do you want to kill us? Why did you kill your creator?
GOTAR
He was the one who unleashed the darkness, corrupting my people and our lands, so you gamers could find purpose. This world is our world and we are not your playthings.

A kilobon rushes over to Gotar.

KILOBON 1
(beast speech)
My lord, more gamers are approaching.
GOTAR
And here I thought we were negotiating terms.

Gotar lunges at Tayo. Tayo dodges and escapes out of the city gate.

GOTAR
Get him.

Gotar and his minions pursue Tayo out of the city gate allowing Jim and the rest of the hostages to flee. Tayo is feeling a bit better now. He makes sure to stay just ahead of them so they can follow.
Gotar realizes what Tayo is doing.

GOTAR
(beast speech to his minions)
Stop! We're going back.

Gotar and his subordinates turn around and begin heading for the town abandoning their pursuit of Tayo.

GOTAR
We're going to kill every last one of your people.

Tayo hears this and sees he's no longer being followed. He too turns around and begins pursuit of Gotar. Jim and the hostages haven't gone far enough.

GOTAR
(beast speech)
From the four corners of the earth wrap me in your invisible arms.

The wind comes alive around Gotar as he recites the speech, and it suddenly blows Tayo towards Gotar who catches him by the neck.

GOTAR
Wind Magic: Living Gale

Gotar begins to choke Tayo, who tries to swing the professor's sword at Gotar. Gotar parries by punching Tayo's hand and punching him, causing him to drop the sword. Gotar then uses both hands to continue the strangulation. Tayo is struggling with all his might.

TAYO
(choking)
Killing us won't help you.

Gotar's horrific bear face smiles and he squeezes even tighter and Tayo begins to lose consciousness.
Suddenly an explosion hits the back of Gotar's head then an arrow. Gotar is lucky he had a helmet on. He loosens his grip on Tayo and turns in the direction of the shots. He blocks another incoming one with his hand. It's coming from a shimmer.
Tayo is able to escape, he picks up the professor's sword. Gotar swings his sword in the direction of the shimmer and the wind obeys, sending pressurized air at Hiro who is the shimmering figure. She dodges.

A two on one fight begins. Tayo comes closes to her.

TAYO
Keep firing, I'll go in close.

EXT TOWN SQUARE, DENI - DAY
Henry is juggling and throwing rocks heated by his hands at the goblins. Some of these rocks are so hot they burn through the monsters.
The rest of the warrior class gamers are making way for the injured. Then from Henry's front, reinforcement in form of an armored kilobon and a new hoard of goblins arrives for his enemies. The hoard start to surround them.

Henry hurls rocks at it but the kilobon blocks it with its sword and advances unphased with its goblins. Henry readies his spear.
Suddenly from the sky, Marie jumps in and lands a solid punch on the armored kilobon's head, denting its helmet. The kilobon falls. Behind the goblins we see General Rowen arrive with the Warrior's Guild, cleaving the monsters in their path.

EXT. BEHIND DENI'S GATES - CONTINUOUS
Tayo and Hiro are still fighting Gotar. Both of them are a good team. Whenever Gotar swings his sword and the wind leaves him, Tayo goes in close to cut him. They are able to do this because both of them are slightly faster than Gotar is.
Gotar stops attacking. Tayo has gotten some cuts in and one of Hiro's arrows is stuck in him. He can't afford to fight them on their terms.
Using the wind he floats into the sky and brings out the SHARD that Yugen had given him. He places it on his chest.

GOTAR
Shard of the fire fundamental, grant me your immeasurable power.

The shard sticks to Gotar's chest and patterns spread out from it, Gotar's magical energy spikes and flames engulf him. Tayo and Hiro brace themselves.
Hiro fires an arrow at him. The arrow is swallowed by the flames.
As they look on the fire steadies and clears, it's now fully under Gotar's control.

All of a sudden, much like how Daro's super speed was, Gotar does the same, but in this case, Gotar is powered by fire. He appears in front of Hiro and blasts her with fire sending her flying into the town. Then he punches Tayo and even though Tayo blocks, the force of the punch sends him flying into the air.

Using his fire as propellant, Gotar attacks Tayo like a falcon hunting its prey. Tayo tries to protect himself but can't find his bearing in the air.
Finally Gotar kicks Tayo with an explosion so hard that Tayo lets go of his sword and is sent flying into the distance.

Gotar then descends from the sky, sheathes his own sword and picks up the professor's sword and laughs a hearty laugh. He has obtained his heart's desire.

EXT. TOWN SQUARE, DENI - CONTINUOUS
Hiro tosses her burning cloak and wipes her mouth of the blood coming out. She wanders into the town square. She checks her pouch to see if the vial given to her by Dar is still intact. It is, even though there is a little crack on it.
The Gamers there are still facing Gotar's minions. Though they are holding their own, they are getting surrounded bit by bit. Henry, Jim, Marie, Rowen are all present fighting.

Rowen jumps and lands in the midst of the minions slamming his hand on the ground.

ROWEN
Earth Magic: Sinking Sand

A shock wave goes through the ground and the minions around him start to sink into the ground. Before they can sink too deep an armored kilobon steps forward and stamps his feet on the ground.

ARMORED KILOBON
(beast speech)
Earth Magic: Solid Ground

The minions begin to gain solid footing.

GOTAR (O.S.)
(beast speech)
Retreat.

Gotar's voice echoes on the battle field as everyone halts. He is floating in the air, holding the professor's sword in one hand. His minions begin to obey his order.
He points his other palm forward.

GOTAR
(beast speech)
Shooting Star.

Five balls of flames appear around him and begin to rain down on the gamers. They keep appearing and keep raining down. The gamers begin to flee. Some try to help, one of whom is Henry. He is trying to manipulate and control the flames, directing them away from the tourist class gamers. Gotar sends some more bombardments his way.
Henry is doing his best but is being burnt in the process. Rowen and Marie are also protecting the tourists from the flames and trying to create a path out of there. While distracted, they are attacked by some kilobons.

Some gamers try to use their shields for protection, others are simply trying to escape the death trap but they are being cut down by the monsters surrounding them.
A goblin is about to land a sneak attack on an exhausted Hiro when it gets an arrow to the back of its head. Tayo fired it.
