Chapter 118:

20 minutes left.

The Lifeless Supermoon: A Fateful Encounter

Ahh..." I was at a loss of what to do, seeing the locked door to the rooftop. "It is usually open during lunch though... did the staff forget to open it? Well, I guess it's not mandatory to open it anyway. The weather seemed a bit cloudy so maybe thats the reason too."

I examined the floor beside the door. It was dark and gloomy, I wondered it I could read my book here. The floor was clean enough for me to sit. I guess this isn't bad too once in a while.

I took a bite out of my bun as I ran through the pages, trying to reach the climax that I have been waiting for. "I hope the bell doesn't ring before I can complete reading..." I murmured to myself.

"There is still 20 minutes left for lunch break so you can read a bit more."

"Oh okay then." I continued reading through the pages.

"Wait..." something came to my mind. There wasn't anyone with me when I came here, then who was it who talked to me?

As I slowly looked beside me, trying to understand my situation, I jumped. "Aaa!!?! K-kuze-kun?!?" He was too close to my comfort zone.

"Oh! Sorry for that sudden jump-scare." He pushed himself back. As someone who hates people around me, I felt relieved.

"Weren't you in the crowd back there?" I asked as I read through the pages. "And how long have you been here?"

"Yes, but the crowd was too crowded. And I've been here for a few minutes. But wow, you are amazing! Reading that fast?"

The crowd was too crowded? That wording made me giggle. "It's adaptive, my reading speed that is. Do you read books?"

He crossed his hands and thought for some seconds. "Oh! I know!" I wish irl has some animations, because his expression was as if a giant bulb just lit up beside his head as he lifted his index finger. "I have read a lot of textbooks!"

Yep this person is not that kind. I had hopes, but it was shattered. "Listen, in novels, when there is a climax coming, or when the climax is happening, my mind just speeds up. When the parts are slow, it slows down too. I am not a good explainer so this is the best I can say."

"I get it now." He looked deep in thought. "I had the same feeling when reading mangas."

"I see. So you are a manga person." He smiled as if I praised him. But I didn't. "So why did you came here? I believe you want to say something to me. I don't think you just came here just to talk to me. I am not an interesting person anyway."

As my eyes crossed his, I saw a stern expression on his face.
