Chapter 22:

Pillow Talk

mission outcome: unclear_

Fuyuki felt a sense of overwhelming tiredness, so much so that he just lay there cuddling the men lying beside him. His warm breath must be tickling Feng Liwei, as he saw him shudder slightly with each breath he took. Fuyuki was unable to suppress a smile, seeing the effect he had on Liwei.

Feng Liwei chose this moment to slowly stroke the back of Fuyuki and kiss his forehead gently.

“It’s the last day,” he said in a low voice making Fuyuki instantly upset. “Will you leave?”

“I have to.”

“I can give you a position here so you can stay,” Feng Liwei said and his stroking hand hugged Fuyuki tightly as if not letting him leave even if he wanted to.

“Husband’s privilege?” Fuyuki grinned and looked up at Liwei with a mischievous smile on his face.

“Say that again,” Liwei whispered into his ear. Now it was his turn to become ticklish at the soft breaths landing on his ear. “It’s so good to hear it,” he said in a low, husky voice which was too alluring to ignore.

“Hear what? Me calling you husband? I thought you liked it when I called you Major.”

“And I do love hearing you call me that as well.”

“What a fetish you have there...,” Fuyuki teased him and poked his nose pretending to be displeased.

“It’s not... It’s just...” Liwei suddenly stopped speaking and Fuyuki almost thought that he didn’t want to continue when he leaned even closer to him to repeat his hoarse whisper as if the first time wasn’t effective enough. “Somehow it sounds so sexy when you say it.”

“Stop it! You’re making me blush,” Fuyuki said embarrassed.

“Why? It looks good on you,” Liwei grinned and sat up, making the sheets covering them fall off to his waist.

“What’re you doing?”

“Getting dressed,” Liwei replied nonchalantly while reaching down to pick up his clothes from the floor.

“Are you going somewhere?”

Fuyuki sat up abruptly, shocked that Feng Liwei chose this moment to leave and do whatever he had to do. He couldn’t imagine any scenario that was so important to deal with that he had to leave immediately. The farewell dinner had ended long ago, so that was no excuse to leave him now.

“No. But didn’t you say that next time you want me to wear my uniform? Or you are not up for a second round?” he asked while buttoning his shirt.

“I’m already up so why asking?” Fuyuki asked pissed after realizing the state he was in.

As he looked at Liwei while he put on one piece of clothing after another, he couldn’t help staring, stunned at how handsome he looked.

“Because you are not a belligerent country to take you by force,” Liwei replied gently and leaned over to kiss him as if to appease him.

“Not by force but you will use some force won’t you?”

“That’s negotiable,” Liwei grinned and pushed him back on the pillow making Fuyuki blush again as he now looked at him wearing his full uniform.

Liwei’s breath tickled his temple and ear making him think of all the times he unknowingly went against Feng Liwei and the system he represents. Not that he regretted it. He still doesn’t approve of the ideal new world Hualong is meant to represent. It’s just now it feels a bit different knowing that...

“How did you know it was me?” he asked suddenly, making Liwei stop kissing his neck and look up at him. On the first day when I saw your name tag. The characters in your name Fuyuki, mean winter and tree. They’re pronounced differently in my language but they’re written the same. I thought it might be just a coincidence but I had kept it in mind just in case. Then I became sure of it when you wrote to Winter Breeze telling him that you made a deal with me. What about you?

“I was starting to suspect that it’s you when I got a message from Winter Breeze that he has the blueprint and you showed the blueprint to me shortly after. But I wasn’t sure because Winter Breeze might have been caught red-handed and arrested after obtaining the document which would explain why you have it. This reminds me... You told me you’re looking for someone. Who is this person?”

“It’s you, silly,” Liwei smiled at him and kissed his lips, laughing at his stunned expression. “The person I was looking for is Wintry Tree because we were meant to meet but couldn’t. But he turned out to be you, so I found him just like I told you I will. Why? Were you jealous?” he asked with a wide grin on his face.

“Nooo... Not even when the woman sitting in front of you tried to get all over you under the table,” Fuyuki pouted turning his upset face to the side, avoiding Liwei’s gaze.

“Really? Then why didn’t I feel anything?”

Fuyuki could hear the amused laughter in Liwei’s voice even without looking at him.

“Because I prevented it from happening. But one good deed probably isn’t enough to compensate all the bad things I did.”

“What did you do?” Liwei asked seriously and grabbed Fuyuki’s chin gently to turn his face towards him.

“Well, you know,” he said, shrugging his shoulder. “I not only broke into your father’s office but I also turned off the transparency mode on my wristband so I won’t be detected. Which is already illegal to do here in Hualong. And if that wasn’t enough I also turned it off when I came here, and it’s still being turned off. So I suspect now it’s my time to receive my punishment, Major,” he said in a fake repentant tone making the so-called Major laugh.

“Well, if anyone looked up my location and saw your name appearing close to mine in the bedroom during the middle of the night that would’ve caused an uproar. Not that I’m ashamed of you but I don’t want my parents or anyone, for that matter to get to know our relationship this way. I prefer to introduce you in person first,” he said and kissed Fuyuki in a way that made his heart melt and all the doubts in him disappear.

As he embraced Liwei and felt the fabric of his uniform under his palm once again he thought that this moment couldn’t be any more perfect than this. Who cares even if the whole world will be against them? Now is not the time to worry about any of that. The only thing he wants right now is to have this handsome man all to himself. They will have enough time to worry about everything else tomorrow.

He looked at Liwei’s figure in the uniform and thought to himself that if his esteemed father knew that instead of intimidating everyone with this high-ranking uniform to earn respect, his only son managed to seduce someone with the same outfit, he would surely be outraged.

I can’t help it. I’m not intimidated. I never was.

And since our goals are the same I won’t ever be.
