Chapter 30:

Decisive battle

The World Doesn't Change So Easily

On the Young Aryan's ship, their captain laughed and a bit perplexed, he said, "These pathetic kids want to ram us!? What idiots, they must not have any weapons on the ship, what school would give snot-nosed brats missiles anyway."

Brigham had successfully led the enemy captain into his trap, putting the enemy in a false sense of security and making them underestimate Lupus by seeing a child as captain. Now with this ramming attempt, the Young Aryans were under the false impression that Lupus had no weapons.

The Lupus vessel bolted at its full speed towards the neo-Nazis, the medical ship was able to catch a breather as the neo-Nazis turned their attention to the incoming Nova Occasian ship.

"Fire starboard missiles at these vermin," the Young Aryan captain commanded his crew.

The navigation computer that Ana operated started blinking red, signaling the incoming attack, "Captain we're in trouble!" the blonde girl yelled to Brigham.

"Evasive maneuvers Emidio!" Brigham commanded to the propulsion, "They're coming straight at us!"

Emidio composed himself and quickly and steadily inputted the commands, the lives of Lupus were in his hands. The ship swerved around and all of the enemy missiles merely grazed the outer exterior.

"Evasion successful," Ana said over the communication line prompting cheers from all of Lupus as they heard it over the ship's speakers.

Emidio smiled at himself with pride, I can do this, I was trained for this, I just need to focus!

"Well well," the Young Aryan captain said watching the maneuvers Lupus had performed, "I guess these kids aren't without a bit of skill. Fire a second barrage of missiles!"

The Lupus ship continued charging at full speed towards the Young Aryans and a second wave of attack came at them. Emidio successfully performed the necessary evasive maneuvers and the ship dodged all of the missiles.

"Captain!" the weapons operator of the neo-Nazis said to his captain, "We can't fire anymore, we have to reload."

"Fine, initiate the reload," the neo-Nazi captain scoffed, "right now we need to focus on evading their pitiful attempt to ram us."

Since neo-Nazi Young Aryans had an outdated and inferior ship, missiles had to be manually reloaded after every two barrages. The Solatium-made Lupus ship was state-of-the-art and had automatic reload functions, as long as it had the stock to pull from.

As the Lupus ship edged closer the Young Aryan ship dodged very easily the ramming attempt, the ships were only a few dozen meters apart from each other they passed and missed.

"Idiots," the neo-Nazi captain laughed.

"NOW!" Brigham jumped from his chair, "CURRO! Fire everything we've got at them!"

Curro typed on his computer with lightning speed and turned the weapons dial, "target locked, activating weapons."

The Lupus vessel unleashed a barrage of missiles at the enemy ship, all of them hitting their mark and tearing through the hull of the Young Aryans. A critical hit was made and severe damage was inflicted on the neo-Nazis causing them to stir in panic.

Roars and cheers were heard across the Lupus ship and Brigham kept jumping with excitement. Their ship now moved away from the neo-Nazis and Brigham order it to stop, "Turn the ship around, let's give 'em another round."

The Solatium-made ship started rotating, its back was facing the enemy after the ramming attempt.

The Young Aryan captain was knocked down to the floor from the blasts and explosions caused by the barrage of missiles their ship had received. He got off the ground and yelled over the microphone, "Status report!"

One of his subordinates responded from the other side of the line, "We have been hit pretty badly captain, several direct and critical hits. On the plus side, our missiles are fully reloaded."

The neo-Nazi's hand hit the monitor, "Fire them now while they are rotating!"

The neo-Nazi's unleashed an unexpected attack on Lupus, Ana signaled the red flag to Brigham but it was too late. Everyone was in a state of euphoria, none of them were focused on the incoming danger and Emidio was too busy trying to quickly rotate the ship as fast as possible.

The Lupus ship did not get to perform an evasive maneuver and several missiles made contact with their ship, causing damages and tremors. The tremors made Ljubiša fall to the ground, injuring his hand and knee, while Roy fell from his chair on his back.

Roy was able to immediately jump back on his feet and continued operating the communications relay. Ljubiša needed some medical attention and Hitomi ran to help ease his pain.

"Damage report!" Brigham asked his crew over the microphone.

"Outer shell has been weakened," Curro said, "but no critical hits were made. We are good to go!"

Apart from the Young Aryans having a worse ship they also got outplayed in the early part of the battle making it a downhill struggle for them. There was no way to turn things around, their ship had sustained too many critical hits and they had failed to reciprocate, they were about to be bested by some kids. The 'superior race' was not sending their best.

Sensing their demise, the neo-Nazi reluctantly ordered a full retreat, their ship started fleeing away and began to prepare for warp speed.

"Oh no you don't" Brigham clenched his fists, "You're not going away scot-free. Curro! Target their engines, try to destroy their warp drive."

"Understood," Curro tapped his computer with lightning speed and turned the weapons dial.

A barrage of missiles launched at the retreating enemy and made contact with their target. The explosions eviscerated the enemy engine room, destroying the warp drive and even managing to disable the propulsion control. The Young-Aryan ship now stood stuck in place, unable to move without propulsion control.

"Get us close," Brigham commanded his crew with a grin on his face, "aim the anchor, we are going to board them!"

"Captain!" Roy said, "I am receiving a signal from the enemy, they want to negotiate the terms of their surrender."

"Tell them we want unconditional surrender," Brigham said with confidence.

"Aye aye!" Roy enthusiastically responded.

The Lupus were ecstatic and euphoric over their decisive victory. On their ship, there were roars, cheers, hugs, and applause. The neo-Nazis were an even lesser threat than Kortonian bugs on NB011, they felt a great sense of pride and accomplishment. Even those who were at the start against the intervention felt like it was the right call in the end, they were able to stop injustice with nothing but their own ingenuity, tenacity, and teamwork.

Their celebration was cut short when a gigantic frigate jumped out of warp speed and materialized in front of Lupus, it was visible through Brigham's windshield. Its size made it tower over the Lupus vessel and the medical ship.
