Chapter 17:
Why'd I Have to Fall in Love with My Sister's Bestfriend?
After the two Noriko decided that she wanted to learn how to use the hoverboard herself. Risa endured an anxiety filled, close call, and vomit inducing ride as she taught Nori-chan the basics of how to fly with her hoverboard. She did a pretty decent job for her first time, but a couple of those turns had Risa holding her breath. When they finally arrived at Nori-chan's house her nerves were totally shot. At this point it was close to lunch time which meant soon people would discover that the girls had ditched.
Like clockwork, about 5 minutes past the start of lunch break, the texts started rolling in.
Reika: “Where the fuck are, you, you little shit? Saya said you didn't go home. Call me rn!”
Risa just sent back a middle finger emoji.
Mei: “You ok? I saw what happened in your homeroom and I know it was you who reported it. Why did you leave?”
Risa replied with a heart “I couldn't deal with those assholes today, plus I finished that part of class on my own already. Needed to blow off steam.”
Reika: sent back a middle finger. Followed by “are you ok?”
Risa replied “yup hanging with the goth queen.”
Like 4 texts came in at the same time, all from Mei.
Mei: “I'm leaving school.”
“Reika tried to stop me.”
“I got out!”
“I'm coming to Noriko's house, be there in 15.”
Risa looked at Noriko who was busy putting in her piercings. “Um, Mei is currently running here. She'll be here. There is no stopping that one.”
Risa expected Nori-chan to be upset, but instead she seemed quite the opposite. She ran downstairs and started prepping some sandwiches and snacks and tea. She hummed a song and did a little dance. Risa forgot that Nori-chan didn't have many friends so anyone coming over was a treat, but still Risa wanted to know what her friend was thinking.
With some hesitation, she asked “Noriko-chan, I know that people don't come over very often, but why are you being so nice. Isn't Mei your rival?”
Noriko smiled and let out a little laugh, “Mei- senpai is my rival, but I can't truly be mad at her. She is the reason I have been able to push myself to act as more than a friend to you. Without her, I may not have been able to confess at all. So in a sense I am a bit grateful to her even if it means that we have to duke it out in the end. Afterall, you are totally worth it, Risa.”
Risa jumped in and started helping serve tea and put the snacks on a tray. She brought them up to Noriko's room and set them on the coffee table that sat in the middle of the room. For someone who dressed as dark as Noriko her room was actually quite nice and pleasant, with not a speck of gothcore to be found. It was neat and tidy with minimal decorations. She had a loft bed with a computer and desk underneath the bed and a single book shelf in the corner of the room filled with manga and some textbooks. Noriko was really an enigma with her sense of style and her minimalist room. Soon, there was loud pounding on the door, Risa answered because Noriko was finishing cleaning up after prepping all the lunch.
Mei greeted Risa with a wide smile. She then bowed, took off her shoes and said hello to Noriko. Noriko grabbed the tray off sandwiches and gestured for all to follow her. All three girls went upstairs to Noriko's room where they sat on the floor and began to dig into the food. Mei started snooping around, looking at the titles of books, and even at the icons on Nori-chan's desktop.
After a few minutes the three of them were finally all sitting together. They all looked back and forth between each other before Risa let out a sigh.
“This is a bit awkward. To tell you both the truth, I am having a really tough time choosing between the two of you. I'm not really sure that I will be able to make a choice at all the way things are going.”
Mei made a suggestion, “I think that we assign separate weekends for dating and spending time together. If we get enough equal time I think that your feelings will become clearer and you will become mine. In fact, after I graduate, I think we should get married, RIsa, if you choose me. I'm willing to go that far.”
Noriko chimed in, “I agree, let's work out a schedule for both the weekends and the weekdays too. We need to do this so we can both get equal chances.”
Without approval from Risa, they collaborated on making a dating schedule, a point system, and decided they wanted to have an answer by the time finals were finished before winter break. Risa was hesitant to agree to make her life into a dating game, but she didn’t have the heart to veto the ideas after the two had invested so much time into creating the rules and dating game in the first place.
This was the beginning of how Risa's first semester in high school went from being normal to being a lesbian's dream come true. In the upcoming months, she would get to date two gorgeous ladies who actually were into her. A pleasant adventure was in store for the three of them full of Risa doing a bunch of stupid shit and a lot of happy little accidents.
